"You'll seldom experience regret for anything that you've done. It is what you haven't done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever."

I actually got this idea after reading @snapping.turtle 's article about what motivates you and about parent's thoughts.

If you could turn back time, would you do things differently? asking you if you have regrets on choosing the path you take, whether you did the other choice what would've happened to your present now.

Mostly Causes of regrets

Studies show that there are these are the three causes of regret:

  • inaction

you have a lot of goals but you are not doing anything to achieve them, that's when regrets enter (I should've done this If I didn't go to)

  • lost of opportunities

when opportunities come knocking at your doorstep and you're too lazy to open it, then you'd regret it for the longest time

  • poor judgment

you do a task without taking precautions that leads to your failure

When we decide to not actively pursue the things that we want to, in retrospect, it will bring enduring regrets of what could have been. There are some things that we could have done at that time and some we could have prevented had we not done it.

Making life decisions with no regrets.

  1. Make sure to spend time thinking about your decision a couple of times but don't let it stress you out. You might choose the wrong one.

  2. Learn how to seize opportunities. You can't turn back time. Whatever your decisions may be, stand for it.

  3. As long as you have good judgment with the decision you made, you will not regret it later.

Life's Biggest regrets

Regret is a feeling everyone experiences at one point in their life or several. It's a negative emotion that comes from the time we reflect on past decisions and wish we did something different.

As I have answered on @snapping.turtle my decisions made me come to what I am today and I am satisfied with it. And I would never change a thing if I have the chance to go back and change it. Everything has its own purpose. We encounter problems for us to be strong and persistent on what we are aiming for.

If someone asks what your regrets from the past I would simplify these simple matter of my regrets to:

Family- I regret not finishing my studies during college. It's just that I badly want to help them that's why I made that decision. My works correlated with my profession now though.
Finance- I regret spending money on useless stuff and getting junk in my room.
Friends- I regret not having enough time with my old friends before because I was too focused on my BF which is now my ex.
Classmates- I regret being rude to them. As a team leader, I need to assign them tasks that they don't like.

I repented on all of those regrets I have before and let them get away from me. So that I could go on a new journey without worrying about my past.

What are your regrets in life? Does it affect your present situation? Do you want to change what happens in your past if you also have the chance?

Personal Thoughts:

Having regrets is normal. We are not born to be perfect but we are born to do the right things. Situations come where you suddenly make a decision that will change your entire life. You just have to accept it and disregard the regrets that might eat you up.

Thank you for reading

God Bless!

Fin!

My life was a rollercoaster. Been to hell and back, but I don't regret anything. Maybe there were tiny bits, but I won't consider them as such. It is about having had not many other choices than acting the way I did in the past. Ganern, sis. How are you today, Miss k-pop?

Yeah, there are times that we regret things because we didn't do it when there are opportunities and what is done is done, so just accept it, all we have to do is to focus on our present and for the future. Don't live on your regrets.

I believe that each of us has our won regrets. Nevertheless, we shouldn't let that emotion bring us down.

learned something last night from PVM.. its better to regret with what something you've done that to regret because you didn't do anything about it. Now if you are going to ask me if i have regrets.. there's only one thing that comes to my mind.. and i think i already shared it in my article questions... questions... questions :)

I felt honored for being tagged in this article hehe.

So far I only have two regrets in life. The first one is too childish and the second one is too personal. The wrong choices I've made in the past, I already forgave myself. Most of the time I do that. Because once I have forgiven myself, I set myself free. I no longer linger on it. I put it right where it belonged...in the past.
