Got myself a refreshing lemon drink and egglettes (something like egg waffle) to munch on while walking on a super hot day! π₯΅ Love the design and vibe of this shop. Sunny, energetic and positive! πΌ And they named themselves Happy Lemon π. Such a simple and nice name. Feels like you'll be happy too after consuming their drinks. π

Walked pass this huge mural in a city parking lot the other day. Immediately fell in love with this vibrant and colourful art piece! β€ Such an amazing painting that it makes me feel hungry after looking at it. π Ahhhh.. look at the pulling cheese... π§π€€ It's been a while since I last ate a pizza, maybe i should get it one of these days. π

Beautiful murals I saw while passing by the back alley in KL the other day. These murals are telling the story of how the villagers work hard at various jobs to keep their needs met back in the day. At the same time, I also caught some modern day workers resting at the back alley too. Restaurant workers and a Foodpanda (food delivery) rider I believe. A contrast between the olden and modern day hard workers with the same goal. :)

Passed by the Ali, Muthu, Ah Hock restaurant when I travelled to KL last week. Apparently, this is the original shop among the mushroomed branches in Klang Valley. Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock is a homegrown brand with a nostalgic Malaysian concept. It is a contemporary kopitiam which focuses on the multi-racial food traditions of the three main Malaysian cultures. I love that they have murals outside of their restaurant to represent the multi-races in Malaysia. "Ali" is a Malay name which represents the Malay race, while "Muthu" is an Indian name which represents the Indian, and "Ah Hock" is a Chinese name to represents the Chinese. π²πΎ

Staycation weekend at my friend's place. ππ΄ I laughed my heads off when I saw this handwritten welcome message, snack and drink on the bed! Hahahaha. How entertaining and welcoming my friends are! π For context, Super Ring has been a trending snack lately due to the verdict of our ex-PM's corruption cases. Because he posted himself savouring Super Ring on a social media while trolling his political opponent few years back. So to celebrate his verdict a few days ago, many netizens and politicians have been creating memes and posting themselves consuming Super Ring, in a way to troll him back. π

Travelled to KL downtown for lunch yesterday! I've seen many have patronised this famous shop - Woo Pin Fish Head Noodles on social media over the years but didn't have the chance to try it yet. Finally, yesterday is the day! The vibe of the place is more of an old school kampung style, like my grandfather's house, which gives me a sense of familiarity. π I ordered a Fried Fish Head Noodle and a honey lemon as my drink. The noodle was good, but better if they add more wineeee! Hahaha. And the chilli was surprisingly good. It is spicy, sweet and sour with the addition of a superb ingredient - the belacan (shrimp paste)! Which makes it soooooo addictive! We also ordered some side dishes such as crispy fish skin and egg tarts. So yummy to the tummy! π Might visit this place again in the future. But must come before peak hours, cause it'll tend to have long queues! :)

Went shopping at a nearby mall the other day and was attracted to this mini garden of colourful flowers. π Took another angle from the escalator and realise it's actually love-shaped! β€ I've always wanted to visit places with a sea of flowers like those tulips or lavender fields in European countries. π· I guess this is the nearest I can find in my country. π Though these are all fake, but it is still beautiful to look at.πΌβΊοΈ

Did some fun stuff called tufting on my birthday last week! I've been eyeing it for months and finally convinced myself to do it. Tufting is an art and craft activity that needs interest (obviously!), concentration, some physical strength, and most importantly, patience! The tufting gun weighs around 1.5kg, and I used 2h20m to complete this piece. So imagine holding the gun in the air for that long. I actually had a mild muscle sore on my right chest and arms the next day. π Although the final outcome didn't turn out as what I expected it to be (in fact, very far difference π), I'm content with what I created and able to enjoy and appreciate this tuft piece as it is, after settling the disappointment in my heart. Haha, after all, it's my first tuft tote bag! π» Proud that I pushed myself to respond to (and spend on) my wants, especially when this is more of a leisure activity than a "necessity". It's okay to have fun sometimes! π

Tea time today @ Oriental Kopi β This shop always has long queues ever since its opening months ago. I only get to visit it today as my friend decided to treat me for my belated bday. Haha. As you can see from the pic, there is still queue when we arrived. But we're in after 10 mins wait, so not too bad. This shop sells Malaysian kopitiam style food e.g. egg tarts, kaya butter bread toast, fried sweet potato fries etc. Quite decent in terms of food taste and portion. Affordable price too. Thankful for the time spent catching up with this friend of mine, as she is a very busy person. After our meal, my friend offered to send me home too. Yay what a wonderful Sunday! π

There is this little boy in my church who gave me a nickname 3 years ago, called "Honey Lemon Yiyi". (Yiyi means aunty in Chinese) His mum said, one day while he was watching a Marvel movie called Big Hero 6, he saw this female character who wore yellow attire in spectacles and told his mum that she looked like aunty Michelle in church. π (See the last pic for reference) For this year's birthday, he (and his mum) gave me real honey + lemon as a gift! I jokingly asked him why 3 lemons. He said, 3 lemons means 3 syllabus - "I love you". Hahahaha this funny boy! πβ€ And he drew me a nice birthday card too! So amazed by his drawing skills. He's only 7! Such a talented boy! π¨ Do you think I look like miss Honey Lemon in the Big Hero 6 movie too? π

My friend @happycrazycon and his boys baked a brownie cake for my birthday! π₯³ I was so touched π. She remembered things I've told her that I myself may have forgotten about it! π The brownie cake is fudgy in its texture and has a rich chocolate taste! π Get to share this yummy brownie cake with some friends and the children at church the next morning too. Had an early birthday celebration with a group of church friends last Saturday. We were supposed to have dinner at some other place, but my friends decided to surprise me and brought me to another place instead π. A place that I've always wanted to try, yet didn't have the chance to (cause it's expensive). Haidilao is a popular hotpot (like steamboat) restaurant originated from China, where they serve various flavours of simmering soup and raw ingredients, cooked by diners themselves by dipping them into boiling broth at their table. This place is also known for its premium service. They even have a kid's play area and manicure service for the waiting guests. It was indeed a scrumptious meal. Had a quick catch-up with a lovely church friend at a dessert shop called Q Ice Cream Gula Apong last Friday. Gula Apong is a type of sugar that comes from the nipa palm tree, which grows abundantly in West Malaysia. It has a unique fragrance on top of the sweetness. I added peanuts and mini coco crunch as the toppings. It was expectedly sweet hahaha. But nice try! At least I know how Gula Apong tastes like now π. Had a wonderful time in this quiet and cosy cafe. Always grateful to have friends who celebrate and support me through the highs and lows. :)

Finally, I had the chance to try "Croffle"! This is a new dessert I noticed these days. I was always curious about it, hence I ordered a Hojicha Croffle to try. So they actually put the croissant into a waffle machine, hence resulting in the croissant having the waffle square shape. Now I know where the word Croffle is derived from. π I like the bottom layer croissant! But not so much on the top layer of hojicha cream cheese,l. Its toooooo sweet! π However, I do still like the fragrant hojicha taste with the sprinkles of almond pieces on it hehe. (Hojicha is a Japanese roasted green tea πΏ). Ordered a cup of Signature Fruit Tea too! I was quite taken aback when I saw the tea colour, cause I don't like food colouring π. But to my surprise, they use dried fruits such as red dragon fruit and pineapple to produce this tea. Very nice fruity taste and aroma! What a wonderful tea break! π

Has anyone tried this Thailand Baby Pineapple before? I notice supermarkets do sell them occasionally. It is usually around RM1 per piece. It has quite a different texture compared to the usual pineapple. It is sweet, juicy and crunchy! So good to have it on a super hot day to quench my thirst! ππΉπ

A rare Saturday morning meet-up with my secondary school friends for Dim Sum brunch. Dim sum is a traditional Chinese meal made up of small plates of dumplings and other snack dishes and is usually accompanied by tea. This is a group of friends whom I still keep in contact over the years. I'm grateful that we can still laugh and chit-chat comfortably the moment we see each other, even though the last we saw each other may be months or years ago. One thing I also notice, our appetite has shrunk a lot throughout the years. This is actually a portion for 5 people. π

It was an Autumn Sunday when me and my friends travelled to a beautiful town in the Czech Republic called Cesky Krumlov. It is said to be one of the most picturesque towns in Europe. 1st photo: We are greeted by this beautiful view when we arrived after a 3-hour bus journey. Looks like some faraway wonderland eh? π 2nd photo: I spotted a special tree while I was walking and exploring the place. I wondered what tree can bear such an overflowing amount of red flowers/fruits. To my surprise, this was actually an apple treeeeeee! π I was so excited! Cause I've never seen an apple tree in person before! But sad that this tree is planted in someone's house, otherwise I might have picked one apple from the floor and consumed it on the spot π. 3rd - 5th photo: The panoramic and aerial views of the old town and the river from Cesky Krumlov Castle & bell tower. This town truly lives up to its name. Cesky Krumlov is a Unesco World Heritage site with a stunning castle above the Vltava River. My heart leapt when I saw this view π. How can such a place exist?! So beautiful it makes me wanna cry π. Trdelnik is easily a must-try dessert in Prague. Me and my friends managed to try this when we travelled to Prague a few years ago. It is sold by numerous street vendors throughout the city and you can also find it in a number of bars and cafes. 1st photo: Trdelnik is a sweet pastry made of yeast dough. It is pronounced as "Tra-del-nik". It is also called Chimney strudel or Chimney cake. 2nd photo: The strips of the dough are rolled onto a cylinder (called trdlo) and grilled over hot coals. 3rd photo: After the dough turned brownish, the trdelnik are rolled in trays containing a mix of sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts before being served (which looks like the 1st photo). 4th photo: We ordered a sweet Trdelnik with Vanilla Choc ice cream with banana and biscuit stick called Ice Ice Baby. It looks like waffle-coned ice cream! π¦. I think those who love sweet desserts would really love this! 5th photo: We also tried their Pulled Pork Savoury Trdelnik, which contains smoked pulled pork with pickles and spicy barbeque sauce. Travel Diary to Eastern Europe - Prague, Czech Republic This is a throwback trip to Eastern Europe back in 2018. Been wanting to document what I saw or experienced on this trip as a memory but I didn't have the time and space to do so back then. Decided to start this series after days of gathering and organizing the photos. I'm also using the travel itinerary as a guide for my writing, in case I forget the place's name. Haha. 1st photo: St. Vitus Cathedral - This cathedral is the largest church in the country and coronations of Czech kings and queens took place here. This cathedral is so huge that I need to squat down and floored the phone to get this shot. π 2nd photo: Old Town Square Aerial View - Old Town Square is a historic square in the Old Town quarter of Prague. There are restaurants and outdoor markets selling food, mulled wine, handicrafts, souvenirs etc. We went up to a clock tower to capture this aerial view. 3rd photo: Old Town Square Aerial View - Look at the colour-coordinated rooftops. Such a postcard-worthy view. :) 4th photo: Luxurious apartment - This Hogwarts-looking building caught my attention as I walked through the town. I later found that it is a luxurious apartment on Parizska Street. 5th photo: Charles Bridge - Built in 1357, Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge still standing over the Vltava river in Prague. Took a group photo with my friends here to end our Prague leg of the trip. Korean food β€. Had a scrumptious lunch with a friend last Saturday! We had pork belly BBQ, kimchi stew, kimchi fried rice, and some side dishes which includes kimchi, fried cucumber with egg, potatoes, anchovies with ground nuts etc. It was a great catch-up + good meal with my friend. :) This place has been here since my college time. Glad to know that it's expanding soon! Though I like Korean food, I actually don't have it often. So whenever I had the chance to savour it, my tummy is happy. Korean food is easily my top favourite cuisine. π

Saw this "zig zag" building on my window view when I sat on the train 2 days ago. With its unique tilting structures, it looks like a piece of stylish artistic sculpture in the sky. β But in actual, this is a 38-storey residential condominium called The Fennel at Sentul East, Kuala Lumpur. Interesting design as a condominium eh? π

My family had a free ticket to attend a dinner + concert by a local veteran artist named Lenny Ooi ι»εΎδΌ last night. I didn't have high expectations initially as I thought it would be a karaoke-ish performance. π But I was wrong! It was quite an enjoyable concert actually (in terms of the music production). Few highlights of the 3 hours performance: i) Orchestra & live band performance - Love seeing the instrumentalists play + love hearing the sound of every instrument & backup vocalist harmonises with each other in every song. β€ ii) Concert standard sound system. π― iii) Variety of performances - Lineup of local young artists as guest singers + combination of different art elements e.g. wushu, dance, and musical theatre to perform his songs. iv) Last performance of Lenny with his 4 sons (3rd photo) - it looks very nice visually on stage to see a family perform and enjoy the stage together. :) v) The concert also comes with a Chinese 8-course-meal dinner. Like a wedding function. π But the lighting was dark most of the time due to the concert, hence I couldn't capture much food photos. I think all these are possible because this local veteran artist is an all-rounder - singer, actor, director, and producer. So he has the connection in this entertainment industry to produce such a high-budget and quality concert. π It's been a while since I watched a live concert. And I was also blessed with good food! Thank you Jesus for such random enjoyment! π

Had a big bowl of fish head noodles for dinner! It is a vermicelli noodle with fried fish pieces. It has tomatoes, pickled salted cege and ginger as part of the ingredients. The soup is savoury and milky. But I wish they added more Chinese wine so it has more fragrance! π Added side dishes such as fried lobak and fried wanton too. But I think it's a little too oily. I think my parents might like this place due to the affordable price and also the vibe of this place. Cause it plays Chinese oldies songs during my parent's time. I can almost sing every song cause those are the songs they played when I was young π.

Summer Supreme Grapefruit Tea for a hot summer day! πΉ Discovered a nice refreshing drink lately and it instantly became my favourite. #fruitdrinkfan β€ It has a nice combination of fruity sweet and sour taste. What i like the most is they have real grapefruit pulp in it. I like popping fruit pulp in my mouth haha π Ordered a sweet potato fries too, which is super yummy due to the natural sweetness of the sweet potato. Though i still prefer it to have lesser MSG. π

Morning sun view on the train to church this morning π and I had Chee Cheong Fun (CCF) as my breakfast today. π In Malaysia, CCF is a steamed rice noodle roll dish that is served with sweet sauce or curry gravy. Often times, it will coupled with other ingredients such as fish balls, pork balls, beancurd, lady's finger stuffed with fish paste, taufu stuffed with fish paste and more. Half-boiled eggs are one of my favourite breakfast food! Just boil the fridge temperatured eggs for 7 mins and then pair it with some light sauce + white/black pepper. Simple and yummy! π
