During our KL downtown trip last Saturday, we passed by this megatall skyscraper named The Merdeka 118. It is 678.9m tall, has 118 stories, and is currently the world's second-tallest building. This tower consists of residential, hotel and commercial spaces. It is expected to be completed in 2024 or 2025. Interesting fact: The tower design was made to resemble and inspired by Malaysia's 1st prime minister - Tunku Abdul Rahman's outstretched hand gesture while chanting "Merdeka! (Independence!)", when he proclaimed the independence of Malaysia on 31 August 1957. 2nd image credit: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/564427765807685417/

Now I know the interesting fact. But, I need to tilt turn my head to see it hehe
Haha see from far then no need tilt head 🤭
Oh this is very tall. I thought petronas tower is already your tallest tower there.
I initially thought so too! Just learnt that Petronas Towers remained as the tallest buildings in Malaysia until 2021, and then they were surpassed by Merdeka 118 Tower after that. 😄
interesting building
