You're Going to School? Hop In!

"That will be 2 dollars."

Jeremy was in front of the counter of a fast-food chain. He was just about done ordering a breakfast meal. Andrea overslept so she was not able to cook and prepare breakfast for Jeremy. Jeremy didn't want to cook either so he just opted to just buy a burger and a cup of coffee on the way to school.

"Alright," Jeremy replied to the cashier. He reached for his wallet in his back pocket.

He paused for a bit and then his face went pale. All the colors from his skin went away when he realized that his wallet wasn't in his pocket. He turned around and frantically patted down his other pockets. His shirt pocket, and all four pockets of his pants. He then dug deep into his bag and that's when he realized that it was nowhere to be found. He started to sweat as he looked up at the cashier and then when he turned back he noticed that the line behind him was starting to pile up.

"Hey what's the hold-up." one of them heckled at him.

Mari and her crew were walking down the street. She was whistling with rhythm on her every stride while the baseball bat was slung over her shoulder. She abruptly stopped in front of a store and she sniffed around.

"What is it, big sister?" a girl from her entourage asked.

"Hmmm. That's funny. I thought I smelled Jeremy around."

She shook the thought away and they started to move again. And as they were walking again, she saw from the corner of her eye, Jeremy. Out of the crowd, she saw him looking like he was looking for something from his body and from his bag. She quickly walked towards him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" she asked with her hands on her hips.

Jeremy turned to the voice and it was as if he was shone the ray of hope from the heavens. His face lit up as he was staring directly into Mari's eyes.

Mari saw the smile on his face. Her face was burning up and she was flustered. Her cheeks seemed redder than her lips. W..w.wh....what is this? I....is he this happy to see me? M...m....my...

"What perfect timing, you don't know how glad I am to see you!"

Bhoooooosh!

Her head exploded from the words he just uttered. She was sent into a twilight state. She was stiffened into place and could not move a muscle. She could not even blink.

"W...whaaaat? What are you talking about?!" she was so embarrassed that she swung the base backward and towards Jeremy.

Jeremy stopped the bat with one hand.

"Can I borrow 2 bucks? I seem to have lost my wallet."

Mari unconsciously took 2 dollar bills from her pocket and gave them to Jeremy. He received it and went ahead to pay at the cashier.

Mari's encouraged watched the whole scene in disbelief. She's totally entranced.

Jeremy claimed what he ordered from the counter and walked back where Mari was standing still. He smiled at her again while he held upon her elbow.

"Thank you so much Mari. I'll pay you back tomorrow."

He then went out of the door. Mari's crew then ran hurriedly towards her and they reached her just in time to catch her when she fell unconscious but was smiling widely.

While he was walking towards the school, he suddenly realized that his ID was in his wallet. He became worried that he will not be able to enter the gates normally. He was afraid that he will be written up for a report.

When he was near the gate he stopped and struggled on what he should do. He thought that he could go in by climbing over the walls. He also thought that coming clean to the security in front will be a better idea. But when he saw the person guarding the gates, he walked backward. The person didn't look so pleasing at all. He looked like trouble.

"Hey Jeremy! Why are you hiding there?" Jeremy was shocked and walked further away from the gates.

"Shhh..."

"What? Why are you shushing me?" Junjun asked him as he walked towards him.

"I lost my wallet, my ID was inside it. Now I can't go in."

"Why not go over the fence?"

"No, it's too high."

"Then just tell the guard that you lost it," Junjun said and went to look at the guard.

"Oh, that will be impossible."

Junjun then adjusted his glasses and took out his phone. He quickly tapped on the glowing screen of his mobile phone and then Jeremy's phone vibrated.

He looked at it and it was a message on the group chat of their club. They collectively answered with a variety of stickers laughing. Mari wasn't able to reply since she was out of school with her gang.

Another message then came from Momo that read: "Try Elucia, she still hasn't arrived. Maybe you can hitch a ride."

Jeremy then messaged Elucia explaining what happened. She then answered positively and told them to wait in a nearby vacant lot.

"Why should we even wait here? We were already at the gates." Junjun complained.

"No one asked you to come though."

Soon, the loud whirring sound of a helicopter surprised them. The air around them started to go wild and when they looked up there was a chopper right above them and it was descending. It landed right in front of them. When the doors opened, there was Elucia waving at them.

"Ah, now I know why!" Junjun turned to Jeremy shouting.

They ran over to it and jumped in.

"Why are you coming to school in this? Did you always do this?" Jeremy asked Elucia.

"From time to time, whenever I am a bit late."

"This is over... but thank you so much."

"No way, it's alright."

They arrived and landed at the rooftop. Jeremy waved to the chopper as it went its way. He could not shake the feeling that his day was just going to get a bit weirder from then on.

I have experienced walking to school, I also experienced going to school on a bicycle. I have also tried going to school on a motorcycle and then I used a car afterward. But I have never tried going to school in a helicopter. How cool is that? How would that feel? Where would the helicopter even land? There's no way I'm going to be late on that.

Traffic? What on Earth is that you peasants. LOL
