"Phew! Finally, with this last piece of nut and bolt, my self learning robot is now finished" exclaimed Dr. Hackase. He has been working for almost 3 years in a robot modeled to a human likeness with powerful AI chip as its brain.
He called the robot Elena 629. Paying homage to his late wife who died of from a housefire caused by faulty wirings. He sued the beach house where the fire took place and in turn killing his wife. It was a beach house, near the beach, there's no shortage of water so why was not the fire extinguished in time? He cried foul play, and in the end the court ruled it as an accident in favor of the house's owner.
Brought by the loneliness and all the sorrows he endured, he delved into and immersed himself into a project so time-consuming and demanded all of his savings. After 3 long years of struggles, years of sleepless nights, and all the pennies he's got, he finally completed Elena 629. The first ever android that could function like a real human being.
He was successful in integrating big data technology and machine learning into the AI system of Elena 629. First of its kind and he had to keep it a secret for obvious reasons. He built the android for personal purposes and would not like it, her, to be used in inhumane purposes such as being a war machine and all those atrocities.
She was programmed to be domesticated and was able to do normal household chores with laser pointed accuracy and efficiency. Elena 629 became his companion, his only companion. With the help of her chip she managed to learn just everything there is to learn for her to function well as a part of the society.
She also managed to teach herself how to read the atmosphere and facial expressions that made her an excellent conversationalist and a sensitive companion.
One rainy night, Dr. Hackase was sitting on the porch. Elena 629 scanned his face and detected a distress signal which she then interpreted as sadness. She grabbed a blanket and made a cup of tea. She approached the gloomy doctor, placed the blanket on his shoulders and offered him the warm beverage.
"I detected that you were sad Doc. Whatever is the matter?" she asked him with that mellow robotic voice of hers.
He chuckled and took a sip from his tea. "Thank you for this."
"What's the matter Doc? You laughed and then you frowned again. Are you broken?"
"Broken huh, I guess you can say that. You'll never understand the longing I know, you don't know what love is." he said before he stood up and went inside. On his way to his room he stopped by the fireplace and looked at his wife's picture. Elena 629 scanned his face and the emotional distress signals have increased.
"Elena, initiate night mode. Lock house."
"Initiating evening protocols. Securing perimeter. Vulnerabilities check. Night mode activated."
It was around midnight when the beeping sound and alarms woke Dr. Hackase up. He quickly got up and ran up to the living room where the sound was coming. He saw the android standing up in front of the burning furnace tossing some stuff into the fire.
"What the hell are you doing?"
The android processed the input and scanned his voice. "You seemed agitated. Processing response... To answer the question. I am burning all of this woman's things. Pictures and all. I have recorded that every time you are looking at these, your emotions drop to sadness."
The man dropped to his knees crying.
"Scanning... you are crying. I do not understand. Simulation provided that you will be happy once the source of the sadness has been destroyed. My board is confused."
The Doctor kept on sobbing. "You do not understand. The pain does not come from those things, it comes and it is felt on here." he said pounding on his chest.
"Computing... Possible resolutions." Elena 629 came towards him and with a swift and decisive me, she stabbed him right through his chest and took his heart out.
"Resolution number 899,987. Removed source of pain."
The man groaned, and he fell down on the floor squirming. "I...i..in..initiate shutdown..." he managed to say before expiring at the scene.
"Shutdown protocol initiated. Systems down in 5... 4...3..2.. Shutdown protocol aborted. Entering auto pilot."
Elena dressed herself and walked out of the house.
She looked at the house one last time before blowing it all up in flames.
"I'm free." she said with a monotonous robotic voice.
Hey there!!!
Thank you again for reading this one. This didn't come out from nowhere, this one is my response to a challenge from @CryptoBabe . Well, she originally told me to write about incorporating technology in learning at first but then added another ingredient which was "love". I accepted the challenge and here's what I got. Yeah I know, this is bounds and leaps away from what she really meant but I just focused on the 3 words she gave : learning, technology and love.
I appreciate you wandering around here and if you have a writing challenge, I'll gladly accept. Lol. Anyway, as always...
Cheers!!!

Nice story. It reminded me of the kdrama I have watched.
