Do you know goat milk? Did you know that it is a milk with a large amount of nutrients? have you tried goat milk?

Goat's milk has a great nutritional and therapeutic value; surpassed only by human breast milk for its high nutritional quality and pleasant taste.

The nutritional components of this milk differs from other species and is characterized by its high content of fat and protein, as well as being easy to digest. The quality of the composition of the milk not only depends on the breed, but it also influences to a great extent the type of diet that is supplied to the goat, such as the amount and type of fiber, the level of protein, the particle size, the addition of vegetable fats or oils and the forage-concentrate ratio, are the main actors that intervene on a nutritional scale on the production and quality of milk.

The nutritional quality and its value as a raw material for the manufacture of food products is determined by its composition. This milk has a constant qualitative composition, but quantitatively it varies depending on different factors such as: breed of the animal, the moment of lactation, number of births, the time of year, the climate of the region.

Currently, great importance is given to the composition of the milk and particularly to the percentage of protein, since with a milk rich in total solids a high yield can be obtained in the manufacture of dairy by-products such as cheese and yogurt.

The production of goat milk cheese has increased in recent times, this process has acquired great importance on a regional-artisan scale, introducing varieties such as pressed and cooked goat cheese, with the purpose of obtaining a product that increases the time of commercialization in relation to soft cheese.

Nutritional information:

Milk is composed between 77 to 80% of water, that is, it must contain 20 to 23% of total solids. These total solids are normally composed of between 3 and 3.5% of fat, 3 to 3.5% of protein and 4 to 6% of carbohydrates such as lactose and minerals as important as calcium.

Goat milk is an alternative as a substitute for breast milk, because its nutritional values are similar, its taste differs a little from the taste of cow's milk, they have similarities in the amount of iron, proteins, fat, vitamin C and D; It also has a higher content of calcium, potassium, manganese and phosphorus, as well as vitamins A and B.

In addition, doctors and nutritionists indicate it as an alternative food for people who are allergic to bovine milk, lactose intolerant, as well as for the elderly who have intestinal disturbances. It is important to note that the international medical corporation has certified that goat milk manages to reverse allergic problems in children ranging from 50 to 80%.

 Benefits of Goat's Milk:

  • is recommended for people to whom cow's milk provokes an allergic reaction, since it contains a protein of different type and contains very low levels of lactose.

  • Milk contains 13% less lactose than cow's milk and 41% less than human milk.

  • Goat's milk, compared to cow's milk, has the same amount of proteins, fat, iron, vitamin C and D. Goat's milk contains more vitamins A and B.

  • It is used to counteract iron-deficiency anemia.

  • It is easy to digest since its globules or drops of fat are smaller and easily attacked by the digestive juices.

  • It has fractions of sugars and oligosaccharides similar to human milk.

  • The fatty acids contained in goat milk have a metabolic condition with a unique ability to limit cholesterol deposits in body tissues. It has a low cholesterol level.

  • It is tolerable for babies, in case the mother can not breastfeed.

  • It is recommended in the diet of convalescents with gastric alterations, ulcers and colitis due to its high buffering qualities (neutralizing acidity).

  • It is recommended for protection against osteoporosis

It is generally estimated that goat's milk can provide all the proteins that a child needs up to 8 years per day and 6% up to 14 years; in addition to supplying 35 g of protein per liter, which is 54% of the 65 g / day required by the woman during lactation or pregnancy.

 Other properties and attributes

Goat milk for its physicochemical properties is used as raw material in the manufacture of cosmetics such as: soaps and moisturizing creams, due to the way in which the fat globules (fat globules with proteins) are located, which are homogenized in the milk.

In the skin, lipoproteins help the flow of nutrients and the circulation of water through the membrane of the epithelial cells, thus making it possible to enter the cells of the skin, which is why the skin becomes soft after using the cosmetics made with this milk. It also contains other ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids, minerals and vitamins, which help cellular nutrition.

I used to drink goat's milk while mine granny keep this noble animal and fed her and used milk for food. She made cheese which was great. This milk doesn't have lactose like cow's milk and has very big amount of calcium, lot more of cow's. I and mine brother in love consumed it one a day and it kept us from decease and infections.

First time when I need to try, I feel a little unpleasant, but when you feel that is different than cow's you'll drink without any problem. It is better to use domestic milk rather than milk bought in shops.

Goat's milk is really very healthy. It is very successful to treat those who have a big cough, bronchitis. Melt 2 teaspoons of sugar over a low heat, pour 500ml of goat's milk, let it cook over a low heat so that the sugar melts nicely, when it boils, move and drink lukewarm.
