HOW TO MAKE A PANCAKE without Baking Powder?

Since the start of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in our place, I have brainstormed a lot of things to do and skills to learn. One skill that I targeted developing during the ECQ was cooking and the easiest morning breakfast or morning snack that I did was to make a Homemade Pancake using the available ingredients that we have: Flour, Milk, Egg, Salt and Sugar. Yes, we do not have a baking powder at home and even yeast. So, I did a research and arrived on a certain channel on how to achieve a fluffy pancake without baking powder.

Ingredients:

            Plain Flour (1 cup)

            2 Eggs

            Milk (Half Pint)

            Sugar (3 Tbsp)

            Salt (You’ll need a pinch or more)

 

Procedure:

Start Mixing your Ingredients

1.      Start with the flour. Put your 1 cup of flour in a bowl, make use of a strainer to separate the flour or avoid bubbles thick kind of flour.

2.      Add you 3 tbsp sugar.

3.      Then add or put on the mixture the pinch of salt or you might need more to taste.

4.      Then mix very well.

5.      Then on another bowl, separate the egg yolk and the egg whites carefully. Add the egg yolk directly to your mixture.

6.      Then, add the half pint of milk. Then stir and mix. (Don’t forget to scrape the bottom to be sure that everything is mixed well.)

7.      What will you do to the egg white? Well, you are going to mix and mix the egg white using fork or an electric mixer or a whisk. You have to whisk it until it’s foamy and creamy to the point that it will hardly spill out from the bowl. (It should be pure egg white, no mixture of the yolk for it to be effective.)

8.      Then, mixed the foamy egg white to the main mixture of flour and the other ingredients. Again, mixed it well.

COOKING TIME!!

1.      Then, you heat your pan and when heated enough, spray some oil to grease it or you can use butter.

2.      Steady in medium heat and you can add a ladle of the mixture. And wait for it to be lightly brown and flip for the other side to be cooked.

3.      REPEAT THE PROCESS OF COOKING.
