Back in my province, my relatives from my father's side are fisherfolks. They grew in the sea, catching different kinds of seafood for livelihood. My father always says that every time the catch is scant, he's forced to not attend school and help his father. Life is difficult back then and fishing is the only way to earn money. But I am amazed by how they persevere to get up and make their life comfortable. My father and his siblings try their best to finish their studies. In the present, they are living with us, their family, with a secure future.

Today, when visiting our province, I can still see that most of the citizens there are fisherfolks but when it comes to social status, things have changed. Due to the resurgence of tourists, many jobs were created. Incomes have increased sharply.

The fisherman in the picture is like us. Like him, we keep on catching different kinds of seafoods/opportunities while we're living. Maybe we're doing that to survive, to help our love ones, and other possible causes. We're hoping that these will help us to have a good life.

A great freewrite. It reminds me of the stories of a fisherwoman. She and her husband are both fishing and she writes about it daily. Nothing wrong with being one, it needs to be in you, being outside, nature, the river/the sea. Great how they improved their lives. πŸ‘πŸ€πŸ’•

Thank you for the mention :) The link was shared by @wakeupkitty in her Short Stories and Freewriting articles, thank her much :)

Nice freewrite there. Are you one of the fisherfolks too? Or have you moved to the city? I like the sea and I enjoy watching fishermen (or fisherfolks in your words :) in action on Youtube. There are loads of channels out there. It is a hard life but a fulfilling one when there are fish. I appreciate fishermen who would release sea creatures that are not the fish-able size yet and I hope more fisherfolks around will practice sustainable fishing for the future of the next generations.

You should join the Freewriting and Short Stories / Tales communities too and submit this article there. Am sure others would appreciate your freewrite :)

I moved to the city :) but every year, every summer vacation, we visit there. It is really great to experience fishing and its priceless.

Btw, thank you so much for inviting me to join freewriting and short stories/tale communities. I will definitely join there.
