While most of us spend most of our day working at a desk, we can forget about the passage of time and sit for hours in front of the computer bent double, and as a result, at the end of the day, we can suffer from muscle problems such as lower back pain, back pain and stiff neck. This is because many of us do not pay enough attention to correct posture.

Contrary to popular belief, correct posture involves much more than just standing upright, and when neglected, it can lead to many more health problems in the long run, especially postural disorders. However, with a little awareness and a few simple changes, it is possible to prevent posture disorders and adopt correct posture habits.

Good posture is more than just looking good physically. Keeping the body in the correct posture, whether in motion or at rest, can prevent pain, the risk of injury and disability, and various health problems related to the skeletal system.

Correct posture requires a proper and balanced alignment of the head, trunk, arms and legs in relation to each other during various actions such as standing, sitting and walking. There are two types of posture:

Dynamic posture: Dynamic posture is how you hold your body when you walk, run or bend down to pick something up, in short, when you are in motion.

Static posture: Static posture is how you hold your body when you are sitting or standing, that is, when you are not in motion.

It is important to have both good dynamic posture and correct static posture for holistic health.

The key to good posture is the position of the spine. The spine has three natural curves: Neck, back and waist. Correct posture should maintain these curves, i.e. the head should be above the shoulders and the top of the shoulder should be in line with the hips. Otherwise, posture disorders can occur. Posture disorders are postures that occur when some muscles are strained, shortened or weakened as a result of daily physical activities, and that affect the neck, shoulders and back negatively and can lead to pain and other health problems.

To improve your spinal health and correct your posture, you can start with a few lifestyle changes. To support healthy posture:

Do not sit or stand for too long

Change your sitting position frequently; do not sit in the same position for long periods of time

Stretch as much as you can during the day

Support your back when sitting; make sure it is not hollow

When sitting at a desk, try to keep your elbows as close to your body as possible

Be careful not to put your weight on your waist when you bend down and pick something up

Do not sit for long hours; get up and move, walk, stretch your body every now and then

Watch your weight, try not to exceed your ideal weight

Choose shoes that are comfortable, comfortable and suitable for your feet

Walk upright; keep your shoulders back and feet shoulder-width apart

Do not squeeze the phone between your neck and shoulder when talking on the phone

Practice yoga poses that improve posture

In addition to the changes you will make and a few points to pay attention to while sitting and standing, you can also benefit from yoga poses to relax your body, stretch your muscles and support a correct posture.

It's nice reading your article. You have shown us the importance of good posture. Even as I sit to read this article, I am not in the right posture but I'll change.

Thank you
