I stumbled upon a post about art by @Aella . I'm very impressed by her paintings that it made me look back to my younger days.
I used to do painting, crafting and sculpture. I didn't always have the best work but I know how to do it.
There were times that I love to do different kinds of art. Musical art. I love instruments, I love to sing and dance. Back in highschool I was a band vocalist. Me and my other band members had written several songs and I don't know where one of our bandmates brought the songbook.. It was a lot then when we graduated he never showed up anymore.
I also had a notebook full of poems. A friend borrowed it and she lost it. How unfortunate.. π
I wasn't able to continue these things coz we don't have money to buy an art set or any musical instrument. Occasionally, I paint and do crafts especially when teachers need some help with classroom beautification.
Today, I'm teaching my kids to especially my eldest whose seven years old. Actually, he started drawing when he was three. He loves to draw, use the "paint app" in my desktop (I wasn't able to take a photo of it). He asks for paper, pencil and pens because he loves to sketch. I brought him scratch papers so he could use it. Didn't buy him sketchpad coz it only gets wasted. The most drawings I kept were on scratch papers I brought him.
I'm sharing his works for @Aella .
As much as possible allow your kids to start early whatever kind of art they like. They will develop and get better over time. Be resourceful enough to find materials they could use to support them in this kind of activities. Show love and support 'coz I know the feeling of not having this since talent isn't our priority when I was younger.. I lost mine so I'm not letting it happen to my kids.
I'm hurt when you mention that. I am a poem lover and I cant imagine my reaction when my friend lost that kind of book ππ
