Manifestation of Strength
Time came when her mother became sick. They brought her to the doctor but she's old enough to undergo surgery. All they can do is wait until she dies. One morning, her son caught her crying. She says "it's difficult to lose a mom, and you don't know what it feels like."
After few months, her mom died and she tries to hide her grief. Her focus is her family, and taking care of their needs. She was devastated but she never make it seem she is. At that time, two of her sons are in college. Finally, the older one has graduated. She's got to go to the graduation.
After a series of important events, she became ill. It is the first time she's sick that way because she used to be healthy. The doctor diagnosed her of diabetes, and she's mostly sleeping during the day while taking her medicines. It happened for two weeks, and gradually, her health is going better. More than a year later, an issue arose between her siblings. Their second eldest schemed something because of grief, and my mom decided to leave the business to save everything she has including her relationship with her siblings, but they didn't take it lightly and made it a big issue. Three of them went against her, and the second eldest is probably happy because she gets the huge chunk the business will earn. Greed? Perhaps. She knows the reason because she knew her siblings' attitude.
She never expected what happened. She loves them so much that's why she's very affected. Her children, at times, caught her crying because of what her siblings did. She cannot even sleep well. She and her family is unaware of her condition.
She's been sick, and stress has taken its toll on her. It even affected her heart. There are pains on her body. Even doctors gave false diagnosis. Been through a number of doctors and hospitals, and nobody gave correct diagnosis. None of them didn't even suggested the right test to do.
Before learning she has cancer, she got to reconcile with her siblings. Her humility is very obvious. But the crack is still there, her children feels it. Her siblings didn't even try to come for a visit during her battle until one of her daughters talked to them of they can visit her mom. It's difficult because she knew what they did to her mom, but she has to do it.
She cannot breathe one evening, and was brought to the hospital. Finally, one of her doctors know the right test to do, CT Scan. Too bad, it's too late. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Tumors are all over her body. Her children never gave up, sought possible treatment in case to save her, and they found one.
She never gave up. In the midst of the pain, she's battling, and trying to win. She's willing to feel better for her family. That's a manifestation of her strength. The treatment she will undergo will be 50 sessions, one per day, so it means 50 days. Then another therapy which is 5 sessions. Each session will be done the same time with the other therapy.
The first 30 sessions, it seems working. Her skin began to glow. She seems battling cancer well. There are expectations she will be a survivor. She complies whatever the doctor or her kids tell her to do. Never a difficult patient to deal with. She used to hate ginger but she agreed when told to drink ginger tea.
She misses her siblings, so her children called them just in case they're interested to come. Of course they did. Probably to save face? Nobody knows.
On her 32nd session, things are not turning well. She cannot breathe well. The oxygen doesn't seem helping. Her memory began to wane. She was brought to the hospital, and even undergone surgery. Her strength manifested. She tried to continue breathing, but it's not enough. Doing everything for her family. She will not even see her youngest graduate from college, and he'll be graduating in 5 months.
It's quite sad knowing one is sentenced to death. Nice story
