One of the things we can't do now is dining out with family. Some restaurants (including fast food chains) has already opened but you cannot bring your family, and of course, the threat of Covid19 is still there.
Before the pandemic, we used to go to restaurants to celebrate some special events including anniversaries, graduations, or when our sisters in overseas go home here in the Philippines. Oftentimes, we go to the hotel and a KTV room is available for families or groups of people. Usually, we go to Lenox Hotel in Dagupan City.
Disclaimer:
This is a food photo blog. Feast your eyes with the foods, but end up with empty stomach. Unless, you just had your meal.😁😁😁
We don't usually sing all the time. When it's time for the meal, we just let the videoke play. Anyway, I have no idea what song is that being played. That "Kapiling Kita" song was played randomly.
One of my favorites. Chicken was fried with sweet and sour lemon sauce. It was sprinkled with sesame seeds on top. The chicken is still crispy that time even with the sauce.
Pancit has never been left out. It's not the usual Bihon Guisado, rather Canton noodles was used. This is common because it tastes like the one from Chowking. Still, delicious though.
Kare-kare is my favorite. Too bad this one doesn't have that much taste, and relies on alamang (or shrimp paste). Though I know some restaurants with delicious kare-kare. What I like from this one is seafoods, and chicharon.
In this occasion, my sisters from overseas went home so we dined out there.
On another occasion, we celebrated my nephew's achievement from school being the First Honor.
I'd love some crispy pork nuggets. It has sweet chilli sauce dip. It looks spicy but it isn't. With regards to the pork, it's just fine. The dip adds flavor.
How about roasted chicken? I love some roasted meats but usually, those from hotels tastes like no salt was added. You have to rely on sauce, which is just soy. Anyway, the crispy stuff on top is my favorite.
Tried to balance the foods we ordered. There's this steamed broccoli with butter. Crispy garlic was added on top.
I think this is caldereta. I am a fan of it so I didn't eat one. I tried the sauce and it's so far good.
Unsure what kind of dish is this. It has sotanghon (glass noodles), vegetables, and mushroom. It tastes good so I added this on my favorites.
The fried dumplings tastes good but it's not enough. Should've had a generous amount but it's for appetizer, so what can I do? Aside from this dumplings, we also have siomai.
Our dessert is the gelatin in the picture above. It's so delicious but it's limited. You can choose from these three: strawberry, mango, and blueberry. Of course, we had cakes from Red Ribbon.
We didn't eat the cake, instead we took all those chocolates on top. My favorites of course are M&Ms, Ferrero Rocher, and Hershey's. Nobody ate the cake because there's another one being prepared.
The last time we dined out as a family was way back on December 2019. That was after my brother's wedding, and we're complete as siblings. We had our early dinner from Rufina's Restaurant by which we ordered mostly Filipino foods. The foods are superb, and authentically Filipino.
We had grilled seafoods and meats in a dish plate. There's boneless bangus (milkfish), chicken, pork barbecue, mussels, prawns, as well as atchara (as apettizer), sliced tomatoes, grilled eggplants, and okra. This is actually great for boodle fight.
This is my favorite. Laing with pork and chicharon. Never mind the chilli, not a fan of it. But this one is so delicious.
Bulalo is a Filipino favorite. I am not a big fan of it but I took some of its delicious soup. There are some viands that we ordered but unable to capture. We also had pork sinigang, crispy pata, and puto bumbong.
We all wanted to get back to our normal lives. Spending time with family is one of them. What we're hoping is the end of this pandemic to get our real lives back.

Nakakagutom at Nakakamiss.., nakakamiss mag dine in with the family na magkakatabi kayo, unlike today wherein you are table apart 🤣😂
