My sister’s last update was just a day ago posting a photo in the dark having a candlelight dinner alone. Before that, she posted live videos from her work what was happening outside. Yesterday, we saw her online and gone offline after.
So she has not shared any updates so my husband and I assumed that there is no electricity and WiFi at home. The signal in my hometown is very terrible at the moment.
I have seen many photos of my hometown how terrible the damages are. My home town, Naga, just beautified and improved the whole town in the last quarter of the year. Our town is frequently visited by tourists because of the beautifully-lit Christmas themed at the plaza. They also have built ‘Pasilong sa Naga,’ a newest attraction with water fountain. Suddenly, with just one blow, everything that was built to add beauty in my home town is now gone. It will take time to rebuild. There are several photos shared on my timeline.
This is the Baywalk in Naga looks like...
The coastline areas of Cebu, including Naga and South Road Properties, are all devastated. At SRP, the view deck or the tall building from SM SRP has been destructed. The boats from the port of Cebu has been flown somewhere. I cannot share photos here because those photos are not mine.
The tall buildings of IT Park in Cebu are shattered as well. The trees fell down in the middle of the street. The Sugbo Mercado tents were also washed away from the storm.
Friends on FB shared videos and photos what just happened from their neighborhood. The roofs of their houses got destructed by a falling tree or got blown away by the wind. Flood is everywhere. Free shower inside the house as they say.
The day before the landfall, there were several photos from the coast of Lilioan where people do surfing and skimming on the beach. The residents were very hard-headed and just ignored the pleads of barangay tanods to just stay at home. Ah, so irresponsible people.
The huge Christmas tree at Fuente Osmena Circle has fallen already. It is always an attraction in the uptown area of Cebu City.
The Loboc Church in Loboc, Bohol and its town has been flooded already. I could even see the red roof of the church.
These are just the scenes posted on my timeline. I cannot just screenshot everything and post it here so I just described it for you.
Right now, I am still waiting for my sister’s response. I hope she’s okay and she’s with the relatives.
Hopefully nsa mabuting kalagayan kapatid mo and will update you as soon as power and net connection is restored
