Be vaccinated. What are your thoughts about it? Do you already made yourself vaccinated with the vaccine for Corona Virus Disease (CoViD-19)? Or nah? Or will you get it?
Me? Our family? At the first months, we don't want to. Even I that was studying about this pathogens was having doubts. But, as days turns months passed by? This decision had changed. There are many factors why it changed, such as the:
Bakuna Bubble.
Face-to-face classes.
Be more resistant and intensify our immunity.
Make myself and the people around me more safe.
I remembered to shared things about this one through this article: Gonna Get My Vaccine Shot: Plan Gone Wrong
Be vaccinated. I and our family was already planning for it even before my 21st birthday but I got sick and the plans was delayed. Until a relative (malayong kamag-anak) who is also one of our Barangay Tanod had come to the house yesterday. Asking if we already got our vaccines, we said no. Then he suggest that we should just walk in and don't wait for the barangay officials to give us schedule. So, I and Tita had planned to have it the next day which is today. Though, Papa said that he'll get it once that Mama's feeling more better. Syempre, sasamahan ko pa din sila. Supporter ih. Hihi!
October 08, 2021 (4:22AM)
I woke up around this time. Need to because we should be in the venue of vaccination before 5:30 so that we will have more chance to be first in line and finish more earlier. And, also to avoid being in the crowd for too long.
Started to prepare my clothes and things in my sling bag. Then, took at bath with hot water. Prepared myself and tadaaa! Ready to travel. <3
And by 5:09AM, we're ready to leave. Still too dark outside with the chills of the morning breeze, but let's get it on! Mas maganda nang mauna sa pila kaysa mahuli at tumayo nang mas matagal. 🙈
By 5:24AM, we arrived at the vaccination venue and fell on the line in the gymnasium's benches immediately. Because it was still so early, I was on the 9th spot and Tita was on the 10th. Perks of being too maaga. Hihi!
Anyways, thank you to my Papa who also woke up early just to drive us here. <3
By 6:34AM, some of the Police Officers and Traffic Enforcers had arrived at the gym to facilitate. They told us what we will do after they assembled the chairs for the five steps. After assembling the chairs, they instructed us to go down the bench and sit on the chairs for Step 1 which is the Registration. Starting from the first one to arrive to the last one.
But, the actual process of getting the vaccine hadn't start after that. As the other facilitators will just arrive by 8:00 or before this time. So, we patiently wait again.
While waiting, Tita's husband bought us some coffee and bread on the nearby cafe while he's having his rooving on the other Water Stations. I don't eat anything before we left the house as my stomach reacts so fast every time that I eat so early but I ensure to have drinks and biscuits on my bag.
The facilitators was arriving one-by-one by 7:25AM and that's the time when we filled up the attendance sheet. Then before 8:00AM, the registration finally started.
But unexpectedly, I got some minor problem by 8:34AM. As 18-23 years old needs to provide birth certificate issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to serve as a proof that they are already in the legal age to be vaccinated and it includes me. But the problem is, I don't have it because I don't know that it was needed. Ewan ko ba sa sarili ko at nakalimutan kong magtanong sa mga kakilala ko, that's so not me. Wala, na-excite eh. XD
Good thing that there's my Papa who's always ready to rescue me. He drive again for over 10-15 minutes just to bring my birth certificate.
Thank you again, Papa. Though I already thanked you personally. 💛
So by 8:53AM, I started the Step 1. Also, I would like to say that there are five steps in getting the vaccine. This are as follows:
Step 1: Registration
-Prepare our Identification Cards (ID) with our birthdates indicated.
Step 2: Screening
-The facilitators will get our body temperature and blood level. So, just relax and calm down our nerves and tissues. :D
Step 3: Health Education Counseling
-Be honest with them. If we have some colds and coughs or any other bad feelings, tell them. As it will affect the efficacy of the vaccine once that it was introduced to our bodies.
Step 4: Vaccine Administration
This is it, pancitttt! After finishing the Steps 1-3, tadaaa! I'm now on the line for administrating the vaccine. In my case, I had the Pfizer BioNTech that has the efficacy rate of 95%.
I am afraid of injections but the one who will give my shot has a light aura that surrounds her and her smiles? Uwuuu. Nakakawala ng kaba. And so, I didn't feel any fears or nervousness. But, the sting of the needle? Ackkk. I felt it. Huhu! Nonetheless, it doesn't hurts so much but it sting.
Here's a photo that I got when the vaccine was being injected to me. Though, it was just blurred. Hihi!
And, tadaaaa!
By 9:01AM, I GOT MY FIRST DOSE OF PFIZER. 💖💗
Now, we're down to the last step.
Step 5: Monitoring Observation
This is the last station whereas the people (including me and Tita) will observe themselves for the possible side effects after having the vaccine. In my case, I just only felt the sting of the needle. That's it and no other side effects.
Also, this is where we will wait to have our vaccination card.
And, after some minutes of waiting? Tadaaaa!
I finally got mine. <3
Now, I'm proud to say that I GOT MY FIRST DOSE OF VACCINE on the 8th day of October, 2021. 💙💚
Time for picture pictureeee! 📸
Me to Tita (but just in my mind): Tita ang ganda ng shots ko sa'yo pero why naman ganito sa akinnnn? Nilagyan ko na lang tuloy ng filter para gumanda kahit papaano. 😆
Am I feeling side effects?
Yes. An hour after I got vaccinated, I started to feel stiffness on my left arm. Maybe it started by 10:10AM and until now. A friend said that it might still be felt for two days. It's so difficult to move with this heaviness on my arm. But, it just means that the vaccine is already doing it's aim inside my body which is to introduce antibodies and make me more immune and resistant with the virus and its harmful effects.
Next, sila Mama, Papa, at bro naman. ❣❤
On this part, let me share some of my observations while being in the venue:
-The Senior Citizens are more prepared. They entered with bottled water, foods, hand fan. I saw a two elderly (Lolo and Lola) that arrived all by themselves, maybe they are already 60+ years old. They are so determined and more patient to be vaccinated and it's a good thing that they are in priority, so they won't need to wait and fall in line more longer.
-There are two women who are claiming that they arrived more earlier and they just didn't fall in line immediately. The result? They go in between of other people. Just, what? Who knows, maybe that was just a lie that they arrive early. So, just a piece of advice. Fall in the line, the moment that you (we) arrived at the venue. So that there won't be any hassle.
Also, here's some reminders that you, guys can use before, during, and after the vaccination:
Before
-Eat first. Have something in our stomachs.
-Remember bring foods and drinks.
-Prepare all the needed things before leaving the house. Bring your own pens, ID, birth certificate, etcetera.
During
-Strictly follow health protocols.
-Be observant and attentive. Remember to always be polite when talking and asking.
-Seniors, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women are priorities. Do not be hot headed upon waiting, be more patient, and broaden our understanding. Don't be to persistent. Kapag sinabing mauuna ang mga priorities, don't make up stories just to be prioritized too.
-Once the facilitator told us to get Pfizer, AstraZenica, Moderna, or other vaccine, follow what they said. Don't be pasaway.
-Calm down! It's a must. :)
After
-Observe ourselves for possible side effects of the vaccine.
-Follow the instructions said by the facilitators.
-Drink medicine (here in the Philippines, paracetamol is advised.) immediately as we start to feel side effects.
-Take a good rest.
Are you planning to be vaccinated? Or having doubts and second thoughts about it? There's a way to ease our worries.

Yaaay! You got your vaccine na! I was aiming for Pfizer too but Sinovac was the only available during that time we went there. Nevertheless, it's still a vaccine. The card looks cute! Hehe. How are you feeling today na?
