Welcome to Academe!
Toot-toot! Switch career, Vhan! From retail to operations and now hello to the world of ACADEME!!
I'm not an MBA holder nor a Civil service passer with eligibility but here I am trying my luck to suit in administrative position. Four months probationary for the position of an Admin Clerk related to Registrar's work. What it feels like working in an Academe when your previous job is all about Finance? Switching career isn't easy!
I thought working in school is easy, just sitting and doing some paperworks. Honestly, while doing paper works feeling ko yung brain cells ko ay nagkanda buhol-buhol na to adapt and absorb na kailangan matutunan. Yes, it's not easy! Mahirap siya, mahirap pala sa Academic tapos ang ka-transact mo DepEd, SDO. hahahay! Siguro dahil bago pa lang ako in this kind of job or my previous jobs kasi is more on cash counting, magbilang ng pera na hindi naman saakin. Haha! But, I found it so challenging! Feeling ko nga ang bright ko dahil may mga nalalaman ako about sa school, having an idea for the K to 12 ang taas rin ng tingin sayo dahil Madam na Madam ka. Omg! After my six months or being in a probationary nagdadalawang isip ako if I will be put in a Registrar position, jusmiyo! Kakayanin ko kaya? Naririnig ko kasi to be in that position dapat MBA which is nag masteral ka dapat. Ayoko na talaga mag-aral, parang tapos na ako dun sa stage na yun and now I'm concentrating to build our dream house. Naiisip ko paano kapag mag masteral ako? How can I handle my family? My son and husband? My finances, our finances I mean? Tamad pa naman ako mag-aral. Haha!
I'm not really into position talaga. What's important to me now is that I have a decent job, I sustain the needs and wants of my family and earning at the same time. But on the other side of it, maganda rin pala yung may maganda kang work na kung saan maganda rin yung position mo at the same time mataas yung sasahurin mo. Siguro God just put me in this situation, simpleng buhay para hindi masyado stress.. Actually nakaka stress pala kasi you're not just focusing on the requests of the students pati rin sa mga subjects nila even the parents of the students kailangan mo i-handle. Imagine how about those registrar's working in a University? That's huge number of students, in time siguro makakapa ko na yung flow ng work.
Like I've mentioned, it's challenging and everyday you'll encounter different types of problems. In every situation theres a learning process. I am much willing to learn and embrace this kind of career, it may be tough at first but sooner I'll be getting used to it. Aja!!
All the way, it's very meaningful thought
