On my way back from the National Botanical Garden Shah Alam, I decided to have my lunch at the The Birdland & Fat Cow, a Japanese inspired Robatayako steakhouse. It is located at the SS15 Courtyard Mall. It is within the walking distance of the SS15 LRT station.

After looking at their lunch set menu, I decided to order their Wagyu Aglio Olio set which cost RM30.80 after including the 10% service tax. It comes with a bowl of miso soup, a bowl of salad and a cup of green tea.

This Wagyu Aglio Olio is a fusion dish of Italian and Japanese cuisine.

The Italian part would be the Aglio Olio, a traditional Italian pasta dish from Naples that is made with lightly sautéing thinly sliced garlic in olive oil and red pepper flakes.

The Japanese part would be the Wagyu beef, wagyu means Japanese cattle in Japanese for any of the four Japanese breeds of beef cattle. The four Japanese breeds of beef cattle are Japanese Black (Kuroge Washu), Japanese Polled ( Mukaku Washu), Japanese Brown ( Akage Washu or Akaushi), and Japanese Shorthorn ( Nihon Tankaku Washu).

The dish is very well presented, the wagyu is half cooked on the pasta. On the wagyu, there are sliced roast garlic, fried scallion, spring onion and egg. It is a wonderful experience eating it.
