For my lunch on my 6th days home quarantine, I order from the tea garden restaurant. Tea Garden restaurant is known for its traditional Nan Yang food and beverages. One of their branches is located in the Genting Klang area which I order from.

I order their XO fried rice with a cup of Hainanese milk that was supposed to cost me RM30.13 after including the delivery fee. But with the HOTDEALS promo code, it only cost me RM17.63.

For those who don't know what XO sauce is, it is a spicy seafood sauce from Hong Kong with an umami flavour. It is commonly used in southern Chinese regions such as Guangdong. Inside the sauce normally contain ingredients dried scallop, chilli peppers, Jinhua ham, dried shrimp, garlic and canola oil. Each of them is a heavyweight flavour and when you combine them all, you will have a godlike umami flavour.

Not sure why this time they give me so much fried rice, likely because it came late so they decide to give me extra. If not because of the XO sauce, I would likely only eat half of it. The moment you eat, you won't be able to stop until you finish every piece of rice with XO sauce.
