Para Thai deep-fried money bags that is served with plum sauce

For today's dinner, I am back at ParaThai in KLCC Suria Mall, a restaurant that specializes in Thai Cuisine to try another dish. Because I have a heavy lunch, I don't really feel like eating much for dinner.

After looking at their menu, I order their deep-fried money bags that is served with plum sauce. It cost RM18.45 after including the 16% service tax. Each plate you order contains 8 pieces.

According to Wikipedia, Thai money bag are called thung thong in thai, it is a traditional Thai savoury appetizer. They are part of the Thai royal cuisine. People usually give thung thong during the New Year festival to wish each other money or gold. In the past, they used to be served on occasions such as weddings, but nowadays thung thong is more likely to be served at luxurious parties or Chinese banquets.
