On June 24, 2008, Commemorative Coins in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of St.John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) was launched by YB Dato 'Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Health at the Ministry of Health, Kuala Lumpur. Bank Negara Malaysia has issued three types of Commemorative Coins; RM100 gold proof, RM10 silver proof, and RM1 Nordic Gold. It was first sold on June 24, 2008, at Bank Negara Malaysia's head office (BNMLINK) and its branches in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.

This front-side coin design features a photo of two volunteers SJAM is bringing patients into the ambulance. The word St.John Ambulance Malaysia is on the upper side of the coin, while the SJAM official motto, Human Services, is displayed on the lower side of the coin.

The rear design features the official symbol of SJAM in the center of the coin. "St.John's Wort", a yellow flowering herb that is used to treat wounds, burns, insect bites and malaria illnesses are displayed around the bottom of the official symbol of SJAM. The 100th Anniversary word is displayed on the top side of the coin marked the 100th anniversary of the establishment of SJAM while the word BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA as a money-making authority appears on the side of the coin. The face value of the coin is shown below in the center of the coin.
