Because the winter solstice festival is coming soon which is on 21st December 2021, I feel like having some tangyuan. So I decided to visit the Madam Fong Noodle restaurant to have some tangyuan.

They sell tangyuan with black sesame filling with 3 options of broth , honey green tea, soya milk and ginger soup. I order the Soya milk type which cost me RM6 per bowl.

For those who don't know what tangyuan is, it is a Chinese dessert consisting of balls of glutinous rice flour and water that are deep-fried or boiled and served in a hot broth or syrup. Tangyuan can be either small or large and filled or unfilled.

Commonly eaten during the Lantern Festival, on wedding days, at family reunions, and during the Dōngzhì festival.

What you are eating is called the same rasgolla in our area. Many call it sweet. Because it is also very sweet to eat. It is soft and juicy so it is called rasgolla.
