Honzu Chizu Nasi Lemak Croissant

Today on my way to the Kajang area, I decided to have my lunch at Honzu Chizu located at the Leisure Mall. This place is known for its croissant dishes.

For those who don't know what croissant is, it is a buttery, flaky, viennoiserie pastry of Austrian origin, named for its historical crescent shape. Croissants are made of layered yeast-leavened dough. The dough is layered with butter, rolled and folded several times in succession, then rolled into a thin sheet, in a technique called laminating. The process results in a layered, flaky texture, similar to a puff pastry.

I saw an interesting croissant called Nasi lemak croissant and decided to order one to try.

nasi lemak refers to a Malay dish, it is a plate of rice normally served with sambal sauce, and usually includes various garnishes, including fresh cucumber slices, Anchovy, roasted peanuts, and hard-boiled or fried egg.

This Nasi Lemak Croissant contains slices of egg, fried Anchovy, cucumber and sambal sauce.

It is an interesting fusion dish that combines french cuisine and Malay cuisine.
