Today for lunch, I visit the Chuen, a Hainanese Restaurant to try another dish. It is located at the Wangsa Walk Mall if you wish to visit it.

This time I order their Nyonya Curry Laksa which cost RM17.17 per bowl after including the 16% Service tax. When you order this, there are 3 options of noodles to choose from, yellow noodles, mihun and hor fun. I choose the hor fun for my laksa.

For those who don't know what Laksa, it is a spicy noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of various types of noodles, most commonly thick rice noodles, with toppings such as chicken, prawns or fish. Most variations of laksa are prepared with a rich and spicy coconut soup or a broth seasoned with sour asam.

In Malaysia, there are many types of Laksa. For Nyonya Laksa type, it has rich and strongly spiced coconut gravy. And it is served with otak udang, a thick sweet shrimp paste you see on the small plate in the picture.

For the Cheun version, the soup contains shredded chicken, mint leaves, Bean sprouts, tofu puffs and beancurd sheet.
