This article is written as a reply to a request from @ellimacandrea in a comment on one of my articles. (My Blogging Day)
Before I start, let me share my opinion about permanent Job and earning through online blogging.
Permanent Job.
A secure job that will give me monthly payment for my family daily needs like groceries, kid necessities, paying bills, entertainment, and emergency savings. My salary is more than enough for all of this but there are just a few more problems. We have not yet had a house of our own and other responsibilities other than for our own.
Here is where the problems start, we made loans to build a house for our parents, and currently for our own house and a lot more things that I would not mention here, and we are done. Our monthly salary becomes debts of money.
And here is where,
Earning through blogging takes place in our daily routines. I cannot say that blogging is a job for me. It is more like a hobby, a new hobby of mine since for the last two years until now. The good thing about it is that I have the chance to earn just a little bit more for our monthly survival until the next payment day.
I prefer to call it my long term’s investment plan. I did not invest a lot of money into blogging. It is not because I do want to, but it is because I cannot.
Referring to the request, she asked me about my struggles in between my permanent Job and Blogging.
It is internet connection, time, and ideas.
Internet connection.
I live in a rural area with my husband and our two years old daughter. We have no internet connection at home, including a phone line. It is like living in a cave, were going out us the only way to see the rest of the world. During my working hours, I will have a good internet, but the only problems will be, is that I am working.
Time.
I must steal time for blogging which cause me to have a lot of unfinished desks work on my office table. I have 72 kilometres drive to work and back home, therefore I steal it too.
If you have followed my stories, now you understand the reason I kept on mentioning grammar and punctuation in the community I created. I am using google reader to read for me. Poor grammar brought my concentration in driving from my eyes to my ears because I wanted to get what is being read to me. Poor punctuation took my breath away, not in a good way though. It is like reading continuously without stop.
I love it. I fall in love with it again. Writing, reading and engaging. Well, engaging is a new thing. In my opinion, to be a writer, I must also read. To earn money, I must work for it. Nothing comes for free including the air we breathe in.
When I am home, I will write some if I am not too tired if my daughter went early to bed.
Ideas.
Sometimes my head is overflowed with ideas about what I am going to write for my next articles, the only problem is time. I do not have much. By the time I got some time to write, I might have forgotten about all the ideas for writing. I can write one article for about two to three hours, rarely less than an hour but never in 15 minutes. In conclusions, I can only write one article a day if I have the time. If you ever see me post more than one articles a day, that is my pre-written articles.
If you managed to read until here, that means you have read 645 words written by me. Is it too long?
Some words of advice from my own experiences.
· Do not take blogging as a job, make it a hobby.
· Respect the readers, they are your money, our money.
Yup, it will be great if your reader leave some comments and have some interaction. Rather than just post like talk to one self , haha , and i think you are doing pretty well in managing the community ya
