This article is written as a reply to a request from @ellimacandrea in a comment on one of my articles. (My Blogging Day)

Before I start, let me share my opinion about permanent Job and earning through online blogging.

Permanent Job.

A secure job that will give me monthly payment for my family daily needs like groceries, kid necessities, paying bills, entertainment, and emergency savings. My salary is more than enough for all of this but there are just a few more problems. We have not yet had a house of our own and other responsibilities other than for our own.

Here is where the problems start, we made loans to build a house for our parents, and currently for our own house and a lot more things that I would not mention here, and we are done. Our monthly salary becomes debts of money.

And here is where,

Earning through blogging takes place in our daily routines. I cannot say that blogging is a job for me. It is more like a hobby, a new hobby of mine since for the last two years until now. The good thing about it is that I have the chance to earn just a little bit more for our monthly survival until the next payment day.

I prefer to call it my long term’s investment plan. I did not invest a lot of money into blogging. It is not because I do want to, but it is because I cannot.

Referring to the request, she asked me about my struggles in between my permanent Job and Blogging.

It is internet connection, time, and ideas.

  • Internet connection.

I live in a rural area with my husband and our two years old daughter. We have no internet connection at home, including a phone line. It is like living in a cave, were going out us the only way to see the rest of the world. During my working hours, I will have a good internet, but the only problems will be, is that I am working.

  • Time.

I must steal time for blogging which cause me to have a lot of unfinished desks work on my office table. I have 72 kilometres drive to work and back home, therefore I steal it too.

If you have followed my stories, now you understand the reason I kept on mentioning grammar and punctuation in the community I created. I am using google reader to read for me. Poor grammar brought my concentration in driving from my eyes to my ears because I wanted to get what is being read to me. Poor punctuation took my breath away, not in a good way though. It is like reading continuously without stop.

I love it. I fall in love with it again. Writing, reading and engaging. Well, engaging is a new thing. In my opinion, to be a writer, I must also read. To earn money, I must work for it. Nothing comes for free including the air we breathe in.

When I am home, I will write some if I am not too tired if my daughter went early to bed.

  • Ideas.

Sometimes my head is overflowed with ideas about what I am going to write for my next articles, the only problem is time. I do not have much. By the time I got some time to write, I might have forgotten about all the ideas for writing. I can write one article for about two to three hours, rarely less than an hour but never in 15 minutes. In conclusions, I can only write one article a day if I have the time. If you ever see me post more than one articles a day, that is my pre-written articles.

If you managed to read until here, that means you have read 645 words written by me. Is it too long?

Some words of advice from my own experiences.

·         Do not take blogging as a job, make it a hobby.

·         Respect the readers, they are your money, our money.

Hey @heartbeat1515! I have come to join you! :) But I have just only registered and am still wondering what to post here :) Your article is a good read and pretty much sums up the challenges most of us have. Mine is more time and idea. I can't imagine your challenge living in an area where there is no connection :( Good thing you have a workplace to go to, to be able to sneak in a few good minutes of blogging :)

Hello to you too @marblely. I am glad that you join us here. You can start with by introducing yourself. Remember @wakeupkitty? You can submit your introduction post there first. Got to read the rules first before submitting. You can start by telling a little bit about what do you like to write, read, how do you know about this platform and a few experiences in blogging if you want too.

The moment I shared my links in Steemit and Hive, this platform was way simpler but now it has become complicated because of the spammers around here. It is for a better cause.

Some tips for you.

  • Post fresh new content, do not re-post older articles.
  • Read community rules before submitting.

@wakeupkitty has freewriting here too. I think you still know the rules without reading. @she has parenting, stories and a lot more. I have SST and SYT thoughts and talents. You will find us soon. Getting points is random now and we can never know when will we get some points.

I have been having fun around here. I hope you will too and do not be discouraged if you did not get points at the start, the points sometimes come out of nowhere. Do not forget to save your seed words. It is just like the Steemit password, You lose it, you lose it all.

Thank you @heartbeat1515 for the detailed guidelines. Oh dear.. the spammers found their way here too? I hope to enjoy myself here too. Do you still post on the other 2 platforms? And does this place have the concept of voting power and so on? Or can we just click like all we want and does the earning goes beyond 7 days? i.e. if readers choose to contribute after 7 days?

Sorry for the late reply. No expiration date here. We can still earn even after 7 days. This is what I like the most. For now, I only post here. No concept of voting power but there are points hunters. In conclusion, it's better and getting better so far.

Do not take blogging as a job, make it a hobby.

  • As time pass by, I am learning this. I thought people only blog because they want to be known or be famous or be notice in able to earn. But you are right, making this a hobby makes thing easier. You wouldn't mind if you earned something from it because you love what you are doing.

You got the idea 😁 It did help me a lot. My grammar improved, my writing skills got better than I first started, plus I found friendship. I will write about this later. I hope more will read about this and see how I see it.

Do not take blogging as a job, make it a hobby.

this will definitely make a lot of things easier. I think a lot of read.cash users in the last days made that wrong assumption that blogging can be their job. It can be a job only for few few people, because it takes a lot of time. And you need to love writing, because other bloggers do love writing. If one does not love writing he's going to have a hard time competing against people who would do it for free for hours per day.

I think a lot of readers. cash users in the last days made that wrong assumption that blogging can be their job.

A lot of this user is new with improper guidelines. Some of them are willing to learn and improve but some are ignorance. Most are in need of money until they are not able to see the platform in long terms.

It can be a job only for a few people because it takes a lot of time.

Yes, it does take a lot of time and I assume that those who are able to write every 15 minutes or every hour have a lot of time on their hand and brilliant mind that is flooded with the idea to write.

If one does not love writing he's going to have a hard time competing against people who would do it for free for hours per day.

I do not think that my like for writing is enough to compete because I lack the time and also talent in writing. Talent can be nurtured but time, I hope someday I can have a little bit more of the time I needed

In my opinion, blogging is a very profitable venture it depends on how someone takes it. I know some bloggers in Nigeria who earn millions of USD on regular basis, for example Linda Ikeji. In addition, you will be able to manage your time and have access to your money at your will. I prefer blogging to salaried job.

Yes, I have read your previous article on having an income by being a blogger before. Not everyone is able to achieve that phase as quickly as they want to. If you are willing to invest more or if you can invest more the road to excellent might be closer but if we start from scratch by mean it will be a long road.

Well online business for the first 5 years can serve as additional source of income but it become passive if you have built a niche for yourself. I hope it's solving some of your needs anyway?
