This is my entry for the "stories in series" contest held by @Ozzyy and @Hanzell and it contains 3 parts.
PS: This story contains acts of violence and gore.
-Officer Peter! do you copy!? Over.
-Loud and clear agent Chris. Shall we start the operation now? The suspect refuses to give up and he is utterly hostile. Our urgent mission now is to guarantee the hostages' safety! Over.
- We don't have other options. We have to storm the building. I will rush in through the front with my team. You and your men from the backdoor. But remember, you are the backup force. Don't make that mad guy feel your presence until you are given the signal to intervene! Over.
-Roger! However be careful! We don't want this to become a nasty massacre! We don't want to be tonight's breaking news and tomorrow's headlines. This should be as smooth as it can be! Over.
-Sure thing! No need to tell me what I'm already aware of. The storming starts now! Over and Out!
All of a sudden, laughters burst out in the place. It was two siblings playing with walkie-talkies.
-Damn man. said the older brother Chris looking at Peter. This was as much fun as stealing those things!
-We didn't steal them dude! replied Peter. we just borrowed them. It's true that the owner doesn't know about this but...We will give them back as soon as we are done playing.
Apparently, Chris didn't care much how to name what they had done, he only shrugged and said:
-Yeah, whatever. Call it what you want. But do you know what I'm thinking? I really want to test those in a real situation...
-What do you mean with test them? We just did that, silly face.
- No idiot! You said yourself that we need to give those back later, right? So why won't we entertain ourselves and have a REAL adventure using those radios? I also know the best place for that.
Peter knew very well that his brother was the reckless kind with a twisted comprehension of the word "fun", so he expected to hear something crazy.
-I have a gut feeling that I will regret this but ok. What do you have in mind?
-The Bellua cave. There is no better place to have the experience of...
- Are you out of your damn mind?! shouted Peter with a terrified look on his face. You know the reputation of that place! Everyone who went inside never came back!
- Only cowards like you believe that nonsense! Can you stop being a chicken for just one full day? Come on! I'm very sure even a frightened kitten like you has some curiousity to explore that place.
-Stop insulting me! I'm not scared. But...
-No buts. Prove that. We both want to examine that area and we are in this together. Nothing wrong will happen. Trust me brother. I will get flashlights for both of us. You know where is the cave already so I will meet you there.
The younger kid didn't know what to answer so he just nodded his head.
Half an hour after, the two kids were in front of the cave, Chris was as excited as a kid in Christmas, while Peter looked as someone who is digging his own grave with his bare hands, trembling, he turned to face his brother and said:
-I can't do this. Being this close to the cave alone is sending a shiver down my spine. There is no way I can go inside.
Shaking his head, Chris let a deep sigh out:
-Hopeless like always. Sometimes I feel ashamed to have you as a sibling. Anyway not a big deal. I was certain you won't do it. You will stay here and we will keep in touch using the talkie-walkie. But don't you dare leaving without my permission, we don't know what can happen and I might need your help somehow.
Peter watched the older kid's silhouette slowly disappearing into the darkness of the cave. His heart jumped in his chest when Chris' voice went through the radio:
- Dude, this place is the underworld! it's as cold as the north pole here. The air feels heavily thick as well and it takes an effort to just breath. Let me ask you something Peter, and I want an honest answer: Is it true that you have never been here? Because Something in this place reminds me about you!

You did great making this kind of story. By any chance, did you based it on your childhood experience ? π
