I cried popcorn
At last! Success! I joined the ride for a cause wearing complete gears. I cried popcorn when I was still there in the area where the event happened. I am happy that I saw myself with the other professional riders. I felt that I really belong because I wear the same as what they wear. It really feels nice when you are one with the crowd. Sometimes, I want to stand out but this thing is different. I don't want to look different just like before when I just wore slippers and shorts and I haven't paid for the registration fee. I just passed by the area because I wanted to get photographed by the various photographers there and I am lucky that I got some shots.
These are the shots that I got last year. The first one was so embarrassing because I look like a joke. Imagine most of the riders there are looking nice but I just wore my everday-clothes and slides. But even though I looked like a joke, there were still photographers who took clicks one me and uploaded them on Facebook and that is where I got these shots for free. The second one is me and my friends who just watched other riders graced the curve from the side of the road. We felt ashamed after we passed by the curve so we decided to just stay away. I was also surprised that I found that picture on Facebook.
So what it this ride for a cause all about? Well, this is a charity ride organized by different clubs. The purpose of this ride to help a one week old baby who was hospitalized and the other will go to Typhoon Odette victims. The source of this fund is from the registration fee which is 150 php or $3. I think there were almost 500 riders who joined and imagine how much help they can give. There were also a lot of photographers there being invited so that the riders will love to participate because they will be photographed and the photos will be posted on Facebook. For me, this is great because these photos will serve as remembrance. The event also had a raffle draw and there will be five lucky winners who will receive Helmets. Unfortunately, I did not won but I am not sad because I already have my helmet. If the prize was a rice cooker, then I will be sad if I haven't won.
These are the shots that I grabbed from the Facebook page of the different photographers. These are free so I saved all of them. Watching my previous photos and new photos made me compare what I really looked like but never mind. What's important is that I achieved what I dreamed of and I am looking forward for more. Oh my, I am about to cry popcorn again.
How about you? What makes you cry popcorn?
