Dear virtual friends, today I want to tell you one of those stories that make our hearts small thanks to the emotion they cause. There’s a lot of evil in the world but you know what? Evil doesn’t overcome the goodness of the human being. It’s impossible for us to say that we can no longer have faith in man when every day we see and hear heroic acts of God's children.
But first let me say to those of you who are coming today to read my post that I am from Venezuela. My country is going through a terrible economical situation which, as a result, has made millions of Venezuelans migrate to other countries in search of a better life. Many of them have left with their proper papers in order, but there are others who are leaving through the green roads.
It so happens like this. I have a very dear friend, who is the same age as me, we even call each other sisters. She has a younger brother who has been struggling to survive here and couldn't take it anymore, he decided to leave, but he has no money, so he sold some things and managed to raise enough money to leave the country, in search of a more stable economy. He is a computer technician but that degree is of little use to him since he doesn't have the money to legalize it in another country.
Getting a passport is too much money, so many people take a bus from here and then go from one country to another through the "trochas", what we call here the green roads, there’s no security there. Everything done there is at the risk of people's lives, but they always cross in groups and as migration is massive, there are many Venezuelans who meet on these roads and help each other.
My friend managed to cross through all the countries and reached the trail that would take him to Chile, that’s his last border to cross and from there begins another one of his odysseys.
Going up the mountain range they are guided by someone who knows the way. He leads the 19 people who, together with my friend, have ventured through the trail as undocumented migrants.
They are climbing the mountain, the temperature continues to drop, my friend is 50 years old and feels that the pressure of the altitude does not help him. He begins to lack oxygen and gets tachycardia. He can no longer go on, another Venezuelan helps him. He encourages him and tells him that he should drop some weight from his backpacks because he can't go up like this.
My friend tells him that he can't go on, to which the other person replies and encourages him to continue. If he stays behind he runs the risk of dying. The snowfalls are unexpected and, not long ago 22 Venezuelans died after freezing to death in one of those surprise snowfalls.
The boy helps him and my friend continues on his way thanks to his help. Finally they arrive at the inn. There, a warm blanket and food awaits them, along with a well-deserved rest.
My friend is grateful. Another Venezuelan unknown to him until that moment now encouraged him to get strength from where he had none and he succeeded.
His new friend's name is Moises… Do you believe in angels? I do. God, in his infinite mercy hears the prayers of his children and sends his angels. God uses us to serve as angels on earth.
We don’t know when God needs us as an instrument of his infinite love. Thank you Moises... I don't know you but I want you to know that you will be in my prayers wherever you are. So that someday when you need it God will use another person as his instrument and help you out of your difficulties.
There are no coincidences, there are only causalities. Moises, translated as Moses, is a biblical name. Is it a message from God? Of course it is! Do you need more evidence of God's presence in all our actions? Don't doubt it... pray and wait on him... he never fails.
And this is as far as my story goes my dear readers. I hope you have felt, just as I have felt in writing this story, the presence of God.
My hair stands on end and my lips never stop smiling, God bless us all, those who believe and those who do not believe in Him.
To those who believe because we don't need proof of His love and to those who don't believe because it costs them nothing to give a little credence to God's word. Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints.
Thank you so much for reading!
A big thanks to my dear sponsors for their sponsorship!
Feel good to know that you friend have been successful in doing what he wants to do and get a new place to live
