She met him when she was just a child. He was several years ahead of her, but Susana thought she was a woman at 16 and she did not understand the wickedness of the world, much less the wickedness of men.
She fell in love with him, but I don't know what she saw in him because he was just an ordinary man, a man that could very easily deceive girls with sweet words of persuasion and fake promises.
He sought her out, spoke sweet words to her, charmed her with gifts and Susana fell more and more in love, he made her promises of eternal love, he took her to meet his family and she was seen as a suitable girl for him. She, with so many demonstrations of seriousness in a relationship succumbed to his charms.
She agreed to be his wife and although in her thoughts she had an illusion of marriage, children, happiness and eternal love, she would soon understand real life.
After he conquered her he felt strong and empowered, he already belonged to her and Susana would no longer go with anyone else. She was his most precious treasure... but now he had to move on with his life.
He decided to go for the next girl and she innocently thought she was the only girl he loved… and she wasn't, he didn't even respect her, he didn't even listen to her. When he could he went out with another girl and another and another, Susana only realized in time, he didn't lavish the same care on her anymore and it wasn’t until someone saw it and told the sad reality to the innocent Susana that she truly realized.
There were many days of discussion and fights for him to leave that life and for him to respect her, and he told her that everything was a lie that there was no one else, that all of that was a ruse, but she had seen him with a girl, they were holding hands and very close to each other. But eventually Susana understood and asked her mind and heart for strength, finally deciding to leave him.
She went far away from him, where he would never find her again. And so she did, she mourned him bitterly until she forgot him completely.
And then over the years, when she was already in her 20's she met José. He treated her very well, he taught her that not all men treat women badly. He taught her that some men still respect girls no matter how they treat them, because Susana had become very wary of ever believing in anyone again.
At first she didn't want to accept any relationship with anyone other than friendship, but José insisted so much that she fell in love with the kind way he treated her from the moment she met him.
And so began a fantasy love story. Susana thought she was a queen, she had never imagined that such a gentleman could exist, that he could make her feel like a person of value. He sent her love notes, he gave her flowers and he gave her many more gifts.
But that was not what made her fall in love, she was never an interested woman, but she was a very sensitive woman and the simple fact of giving her a gift without knowing the content of the gift filled her with infinite joy. She didn’t care if it was a jewel in a gift box or a piece of paper with a love note, it was the details of her love that fueled her.
She realized that this was another kind of relationship, more sincere, with details that make you fall in love, with selfless love.
All the details of his company, the opening of the car door, the refilling of his wine glass. The invitation to go out for a special night. The stargazing, making future plans. Although he never mentioned marriage but that was the least of it. Someday he would.
After a year. The idyll ended. Fate had other plans and there was no happy ending. It was an important occasion for both of them, they would celebrate the day of Susana's decision to accept him, they would go to dinner and then to dance.
He as usual came out of his work, with the best of smiles on his face. He was going to get ready to leave in search of his precious treasure, the woman he had loved for more than a year.
He got into his car and with the joy of the encounter he stepped on the accelerator a little more than usual and while on the avenue he felt a jolt, something happened to the car, it began to shake and he could not maneuver it.
At least that is what the experts said about the tragedy. The man lost his life when he crashed his car, all thanks to a malfunction while he was driving on the avenue at excessive speed.
Susana, was in mourning again but now for the most sublime love she could have ever known. She only thanked God for the time he gave her with him.
"And now let me pass my pain" and she collapsed.

How tragic! But perhaps the comfort is in having experienced the kind of devotion and affection she deserved.
