Become A Writer & Remake The World Ever since I could remember, I always wanted to become a writer. I was always attracted to novels and short stories. As I got older, my love for reading turned into a love for writing. Have you ever had a burning desire to write? My parents always taught me that if I wanted to be a writer, I should set my sights on being the best in the world. That way, there would never have to be any excuses for not writing. But this is terrible advice for most aspiring writers. We shouldn't try to grasp for the title of world's best writer; we should write because it is something we love. Knowledge is a source of power and when you can communicate your knowledge in an easily understood format, you are providing value to yourself and to others who might benefit from it. There are many people who want to become writers. But the problem is that they do not know how to become a writer. It's a dream that's been around for centuries, and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. But how do you actually do it? How do you take that dream and make it a reality? If you want to become a writer, then you need to take some steps. It starts with believing in yourself and your abilities. If you don't believe that you can do something, then no one else will either! Believe in yourself enough to know that you're capable of achieving anything that you set your mind to. That includes being a writer. Once you've got that part figured out, the next step is to get started. You can't change the world if you don't put words on paper (or computer screen). So start writing! And don't stop until your fingers hurt or the words aren't coming anymore - whichever comes first! The third step is probably the most important: keep going. It takes time to develop as a writer - just like any skill does - but there are no shortcuts here. If you want to be good at this craft then there's only one way: practice makes perfect! When we talk about becoming a writer, then we mean getting started on writing something new or improving upon an existing piece of work. There are different kinds of writers out there, such as journalists or novelists; however, the most important thing when it comes down to it is simply starting off on something new! ***Becoming a writer is one of the best things you can do for yourself, and for the world.*** When you write, you are saying "I am here." You are taking up space in your life, and asking people to listen. You are inviting them into your head, and sharing what you know. And you can share whatever it is that you want: stories, ideas, feelings—the sky's the limit! When someone reads something that was written by you, they're not just getting an idea or a story—they're getting a piece of your experience as well. They're getting to know you better than almost anyone else in their life does—and if they're lucky, maybe even learning something new about themselves too. But writing isn't just about sharing information; it's also about sharing emotions and experiences that might make other people feel less alone in the world. Writing helps us access parts of ourselves we didn't even know were there; it helps us communicate with others in ways we couldn't before; it helps us reach out through time and space to touch someone else's heart. That's why when people read what we've written they feel like they've been touched somehow—because they have been touched by our words. **In Conclusion** Being a writer is one thing I find to be very rewarding. The writing process warms my heart because I get to create amazing content for my readers, making them feel special. Writing has always made me feel alive, and this feeling is what drives me to continue doing what I do every day. Writers write because they want people to hear their voice. They want their stories told and they want to be heard by many. Writing for me is very cathartic. It lifts a weight off my back, like I'm getting a hundred of my thoughts out at the same time. It's taking the stuff that's in my head, making them look nice on paper and not only letting other people read them but also allowing me to critique and improve my own words. Writing is a craft, like any other art form. It takes practice, dedication and work. Anyone who says anyone can do it, is a liar. But this doesn't stop you from feeling that special excitement as you develop your characters, get them into precarious situations and somehow navigate them out of them. It's an amazing experience that only writers know about. *Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.*

Time To Build Your Blogging Confidence **We all have moments of doubt when it comes to blogging. Sometimes, writing a blog post feels like wrestling a bear—sometimes you win, but you're always going to come out of it a little worse for wear. It can be a tough business. But you're in for the long haul, and you're determined to stick it out.** Blogging is scary. You're putting your thoughts and ideas out there for people to read. And when you're first starting out, it can be hard not to wonder if anyone even notices what you're doing. But don't worry! These are all normal feelings that everyone has when they start a blog. The trick is just not letting them get in the way of your success. Fear is only a problem if it's stopping you from doing what you need to do to get where you want to go. And if fear is stopping you from blogging and building up your capabilities, then it's definitely a problem. You're not alone. We all feel that way sometimes. But the truth is, you don't need to be a blogging wizard to create content that your followers will love. You just need to have confidence in yourself. How to boost blogging confidence? **First**, embrace the fact that you are a writer. You're reading this, so you must have a blog, right? And you've probably been writing your blog posts for a while now. So why do you still feel like an imposter? Why do you still feel like someone will knock on your door and tell you to get out of the blogging business? Well, I'm here to tell you that it's time to stop feeling like an imposter. It's time to start feeling like the confident blogger you are! You need to know that what you write is important. You need to believe that the world needs more of your words in it. **Second**, surround yourself with people who know what they're doing Confidence comes from knowing you've got the skills to get the job done, and to do it well. But sometimes, that means learning new skills! If you don't have friends or family who run their own blogs, try looking online for a blogging community that can help mentor you and answer your questions. These are also great places to find guests for your blog! **Third**, make sure you're using the right tools. Sometimes all it takes is finding a tool that will help automate some of the manual labor associated with blogging. For example, I use Grammarly and Quillbot to help me revise and edit my posts before they go live—it's saved me hours of time! Take some time to look into tools like this that will help you optimize your workflow and hopefully make blogging feel more like play than work. **Fourth**, set and achieve small goals. When was the last time you sat down and thought through what would make you feel accomplished? Sometimes it's easier to reach bigger goals if we break them into smaller ones, like "Hit my word count for the day" or "Make sure my post flows." Just make sure the goals are realistic so that you can actually achieve them! **Lastly**, remember why you started. You started this blog because there was something about it that mattered- whether it was the topic, the creative outlet, or simply giving yourself a new challenge.  If you're having trouble finishing or publishing your blog, take a break and remind yourself what was so important about it in the first place! Don’t give up! **In Conclusion** Blogging can be stressful at times. If your mind is clouded by self-doubt and insecurity, it can be hard to come up with your next great blog post. Confidence is something that takes time to build. If you're feeling down on yourself because you don't feel confident yet, that's okay. You're not alone. There's a lot of pressure put on bloggers to always be confident and happy. But it's not realistic for everyone all the time. Confidence is something that builds over time with practice and experience. The more you blog, the better you'll get at it. And the better you get at it, the more confident you'll become. What is Your Blogging Style? Find Out with this Personality Quiz Blogging is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut, and you can't quite figure out what to write about or how to approach your topics. What's your blogging style? It's a question that we writers ask ourselves all the time, and now it's one you can answer with a fun personality quiz! Seriously, it's amazing. It's time to learn a little bit more about your blog-writing skills! Are you an expert storyteller? Maybe SEO is your game. Or perhaps you're a casual blog-writer who loves to share helpful tips and advice with your readers. It’s now time to find out! **Are you a storyteller?** You're probably a storyteller if you most like to tell people what the next part of your day is going to be like, or what happened to you yesterday. This style of blogging is about telling a story through your blog. It's about taking your readers on an adventure—whether it's one that happened in real life, or one that's entirely fictional. Your readers feel like they can put themselves in your shoes or have an "Aha!" moment, and that makes them like you, trust you, and want to keep coming back for more **Do you encourage engagement?** When it comes to blogging, it's all about the engagement. You know how every now and then a post will go viral because thousands of people are responding to it? If people aren't talking about the content they just read, there's no reason for them to come back. Bloggers who encourage engagement use calls to action in their posts, ask questions at the end of their work, and can connect with their readers on an emotional level—all of which lead to more conversation and more readership. You're probably an encourager if you enjoy writing in short-form and asking lots of questions that get people talking. **Do you enjoy writing in both long and short form?** If so, you might be a good writer! One day you're sharing a deeply personal story about your life with the world, and the next you're posting a list of 10 things that made you smile today. You don't like to be pinned down, and your writing style reflects that. You love expressing yourself through the written word, and you can usually do it well, no matter what the medium. If this sounds like you, you might be a versatile blogger. **Are you a master of SEO?** A blog that ranks high on Google is a blog people can find easily. And if your blog has ever been noticed or shared on social media, you already know how great it feels. If this is sounding familiar to you so far, then you may be an SEO blogger. You love putting together pieces that will help people find your site, and when they do—pow!—they're hooked. Take our quiz to see if we got it right! **Are your posts packed with information?** Informative posts are all about the information that readers crave. You could write a 1,000-word post and it would still be too short because you have so much knowledge and insight to share. You're always looking for ways to improve yourself and your blog, and sometimes you'll even take a break from writing to write about writing! **Do you like to keep your posts more on the casual side?** You're all about keeping things fun, lighthearted, and conversational. When people read your posts, they feel like they're hanging out with their best friend. Your posts are full of run-on sentences and exclamation marks that really help you connect with your readers. But you don't only write online—you also love writing in your journal! **Do your readers always leave comments because you ask questions in your posts?** You want to hear what other people think! You write blog posts that ask questions like "Which dachshund should I get?" or "How can I start a business?" Your readers enjoy giving their opinions and interacting with you, and you enjoy sharing their responses. Some of the comments even add so much value to your posts that you want to share them with more people by putting them on social media. **In Conclusion** Writing is the backbone of the internet's content world; it's how we communicate, how we learn, and how we build each other up. Even if you don't see yourself as an "author," you probably spend a lot of time writing. Maybe you write a new post for your blog every week, or maybe you comment on posts on other people's sites. Maybe you write emails, or text messages, or update your followers with new tweets every day. All of these things are forms of writing! Some bloggers choose one style and stick with it for a long time, while others like to switch things up from post to post or even day to day. And there are plenty of bloggers who like to mix it up between different styles! It's okay if you don't know what kind of blogger you are yet. You'll find out as soon as you figure out what kind of writer you are! The truth is, there is no "right" blogging style. There's no correct way to be a blogger, just as there's no one correct way to be a human being. Blogs are a personal choice, and the best you can do is find one that makes you happy and keeps you writing. And if that ever changes, then you should feel entirely free to try something new—the only thing stopping you will be yourself. *As you can see, different kinds of blogging styles lend themselves to different types of writing. Now it's up to you to find out which approach suits you best. Are you ready to find out what type of blogger you are?* Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

Always Think Before You Blog In the world of blogging and content, especially online, we all need to think before we say something, write something — anything — or do something. Everyone's a critic these days and it's so easy to get sucked into “judging” everything that comes out on the Internet. I have this stance when it comes to using the Internet: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. But how often do we actually do this? How often are we so quick to hit that "publish" button that we don't take a moment to think about how our words will affect others? Many of us have found ourselves in a position where we've said the wrong thing, written something that we wish we could take back, or posted something on the internet that was maybe not the most… sensitive? When it comes to the Internet, there are no boundaries. Everything is out in the open and very public. It's easy to be cruel and say things you wouldn't normally say in person. I always make sure I'm not causing harm before saying something, even if it means not saying anything at all. I think it's important for everyone to use caution when engaging with others online. Not only should we be careful about what we share on our own channels, but also be careful about how we interact with others' channels too. The world would be a better place if everyone thought about what they were going to say or do before putting it out into the world. What do you think? This is what I like to call being a good human being or a good person in general. If you don't find value in something, it's okay just not to say anything about it. Or if you have nothing positive or constructive to say about someone's work or creation, don't waste your time or their time by putting negative energy out there. I believe that it would be extremely beneficial for everyone if we all took this approach. We would all be better people for it and the world would be a better place for it as well. It takes less energy to be kind than to be rude or mean. I am a firm believer in the notion that everyone's life is hard and that we should be kind to one another. When I'm online, I try (and often fail) to keep this in mind. I also believe that how you choose to conduct yourself online reflects how you conduct yourself in real life. I know my own integrity has suffered because of things I've said and done online. And probably because of things I haven't said! There are times when I really want to respond to something that makes me angry but instead, I take a deep breath and let it go. We all know those people who always have something negative or critical to say about everyone and everything on the Internet. We call them trolls for a reason! They're not happy unless they're tearing folks down or making fun of someone else's work or opinions. **In Conclusion** We can't go back and erase what's already happened. These days, it's easy to get caught up in the moment and say something we wish we hadn't. But one thing that's harder is to make a conscious effort to pause and reflect on what we're sharing with our readers. This is because once we post an article or essay on our blog or website, it’s there for good. You can't delete your words from the Internet. It lives on forever. The truth is, if you want to be successful as a blogger or content creator, you'll have to learn how to become a better thinker. You'll have to learn how to not only think for yourself but for others as well. The Internet is a powerful tool and it can be used for good or evil. It all depends on your intentions, how you go about things and your mindset when using the Internet (or any social media platform). The Internet is just like real life: you should treat others how you want to be treated. We all have an opportunity to make a difference in someone's life with every single thing we put out into the world. Let's make a difference in people's lives by being kind, encouraging and uplifting one another! ***So before you hit "Publish" next time, take a minute to consider: Does this piece make sense? Is it informative? Are there any typos? Do I really want to publish this right now?*** Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

The Pressure Brought by Academic Failure It is never easy to fail in something that you put your heart, soul and mind to. I can't help but feel like my brain is full of gray mush. I'm tired of the pressure to be perfect, yet I fear the alternative. Studying for hours, working late nights, and cramming for tests has become my routine. The worst part about all this is that I'm not even sure it's helping me. It seems like no matter how hard I try, I'm never good enough. Other people often tells me I should "try harder," as if one more hour of studying would change things. But what if it doesn't? What if this is all for nothing? Sometimes I just want to give up and walk away from it all. Being someone who is studying to obtain a bachelor's degree, I have some first-hand experience with the fear of academic failure. When the pressure of getting good grades starts to build, students begin to come up with strategic plans on how to combat it. However, not all of these strategies work. While some work, others fall short for various reasons. Everyone knows that education is extremely important. No matter what your goals are, as a human being of this generation, you have to have at least a college degree to succeed in life. But college is not easy, what with the social demands, the need for self-discovery, and all those papers you have to write that always end up being rejected. And then there are those exams… You see, exams can bring about great pressure, especially when everyone has high expectations for you and expects you to do well. And then there's the outside pressure of being a good student—from your parents, who want to see you succeed and get into a good college, to your classmates, who make good grades look so easy and effortless. Academic failure is the source of many headaches. As a student, it's hard to meet the high expectations we set for ourselves. I fear academic failure more than anything else. The pressures of deadlines and having to make the grade can be overwhelming. It is often difficult to maintain a good balance between work and school. This makes it challenging to achieve a good GPA. It takes a lot of work and dedication in order to meet all the required criteria for assignments or grading. When you fail at something you were trying to accomplish, it can be very frustrating. You feel as if there's no point in continuing because nothing will ever go right again. However, there are some ways that students can cope with this situation: by being proactive, setting realistic goals for themselves, and getting organized early on in their studies so they don't get behind schedule later down the road. **In conclusion** I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I have to say, the pressure brought on by academic failure is something that scares me the most. It's so difficult to meet the high expectations set by others, and then, when you don't live up to those expectations, there can be a backlash from teachers, other students, family members—even yourself! It's not that I'm afraid of failing. In fact, I believe in the power of failure. Rather than being scared of it, I think we should embrace failure as part of learning and growing. What we should be scared of is what happens when we're too afraid to fail. I don't know you, but I can predict that you're probably a lot like me. You're working hard in school to get good grades, to keep your parents and yourself happy, and to be successful in life. It's not easy. You have so many things on your mind: classes, exams, homework assignments, projects and more projects. I have been feeling very overwhelmed lately; all my friends are too. It seems like no matter how hard we work or how much we study, there is always something else that needs our attention! But I am starting to realize there is power in knowing that we are all experiencing the same thing together Let me explain. When you fail at something important—something that matters to you—you have an opportunity to learn so much about what works and what doesn't work in terms of your approach or skill set. Failure helps you understand the limits of your abilities and where you need to focus next. It can even help you identify areas where you need additional guidance or support. Failing at something doesn't mean you're a failure—it means there's growth ahead for you!

When Should I Stop Writing We're all writers here. We've all done it. We've all sat down to write, and something has come out. When does enough become enough, though? How do you know when you should just... stop? How do you know when to call it quits and move onto the next thing? When to stop writing is one of the most difficult questions a writer faces, and it's not because writing is hard. It's because stopping is hard. The answer isn't as easy as it might seem. Sometimes, an idea will come to you just when you think you're done with it. You'll be ready to move on, and then—bam!—something new hits you, and it's like, whoa. If that happens, let yourself write the new idea down. And then go back to what you were working on before. In the first place, you should never write for the purpose of writing. You should always write for a reason. It doesn’t have to be a profound reason, but it should be one you’re passionate about. That’s what makes writing worth doing. Particularly when you're in the thick of it, whether that "it" is an essay or a novel or an email, it can be easy to get caught up in the flow state, where you're so deep inside your own words it feels like you can't see the outside world anymore. You feel like you could just keep going forever, and your fingers are flying across the keyboard and everything is coming together… until you look up and realize that two hours have passed, or five hours have passed, or five days have passed—and you still don't know how this story ends. But even if writing isn't hard (at least not while you're in that sweet spot), knowing when to stop can be harder than hard. The truth is that there's never an exact moment when you should stop writing. It's more of a process than a single event. And while this might sound counterintuitive, what I'm saying is that you should keep writing until your fingers start hurting and then take a break and write some more if you want to but only if you want to because the point of all of this is not to hurt yourself but to help others and sometimes that means hurting yourself but only sometimes because otherwise you'll be fine! Everybody has their own answer to this question. Some people suggest waiting until the moment you feel ready, but that is terrible advice. You will never feel ready. Other people recommend that you only stop writing when your story ends, but we all know that's impossible. If you're like me, you may find yourself tempted to answer this question by asking another question: How far can my fingers stretch before they break? It's always good to have goals in life, but what you need right now is an actual answer—not just another question. I just wanted to let you know that there's not a single moment when you should stop writing. You don't ever have to stop. You can write for yourself or for others, or both, and the way you do it is up to you. You can write about your experiences, your feelings, what you've learned—there's no limit. You can write poems and short stories and novels and fan fiction and lists of things that make you smile. You can write letters to people who are far away from you, and letters to your future self Writing is difficult—it takes time and dedication, and it can feel like there are so many rules that are easy to break (and some that are seemingly impossible). But if you really care about what you’re writing, then all of that won’t matter as much. If someone tells me I can’t do something because I don’t have enough experience or I’m not skilled enough at something, that just makes me want to prove them wrong even more. That drive helps me keep going when things get hard. The point is that writing has so many uses, and there are so many ways to do it—you're really only limited by your imagination. And if anyone tries to tell you otherwise? Just remember: they're wrong. *Copyright 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.*

Welcome to Our Town Fiesta! Enjoying The Day Amidst The Pandemic A fiesta is more than just a common party, it's a celebration. It is a day for people to gather together to thank God for the blessings he has given over the past year. April 26, 2022 With the last Tuesday of April falling on the 26th this year, it's time to celebrate our town fiesta. Every year, our town celebrates its fiesta with great joy and festivity. The fiesta feels like the best day of the year, with all those bright lights and decorations everywhere, and the food smells just incredible. And when we were kids, we'd spend all day playing around the plaza or taking turns on that huge slide until we got dizzy. Our fiesta starts from sunrise to sunset and during these times, there are various activities prepared for the visitors. The celebration starts at 7:00 in the morning, with a mass to honor the patron saint of our town. Then, the whole town participates in a parade around the plaza. The band is playing lively music and we dance as we parade around the plaza. Even foreigners are caught up in the spirit of the fiesta, and join us in dancing along to the music! People come from all over to participate in this colorful event. There are several activities during the fiesta day such as sports competitions like basketball, volleyball, fun bike, beauty pageant contest, cockfighting; band parade; street dancing contest and many others. There are also games like "patintero", "luksong-tinik", "piko" and other traditional Filipino games that offer cash prizes. Aside from these games, there is also Zumba dance that everyone can join. There are also stalls selling different kinds of foods ranging from local delicacies to fast food chains. There is also an exhibit which features some products made by our local entrepreneurs here in our town. These are the activities during the past years before the pandemic. However, our town fiesta will be celebrated in a simple way compared from previous years. Because of the pandemic, we had to cancel a lot of things at first. No more nightly dance competitions or beauty pageants; no more merchant booths selling all kinds of things; no more street food vendors with sweet corn on a stick covered with mayonnaise and cheese (my personal favorite). And no more picnics in the park. Today is the first time to have our visitors again since the pandemic. We want them to feel welcomed and to enjoy their stay here in our town. I have noticed only a few people are out and about walking around today. I can’t help but wonder why. Could it be that the pandemic has made people afraid of going out? Or is it because of the heat of the sun that makes people stay in their homes? Well, we can’t really blame them. With so much fear and caution lately, all we want to do is to be safe from getting sick. And with the heat outside, there really isn’t much reason to go out. It would be nice to see people enjoying themselves after being stuck at home for so long. But as I look around and see no one in sight except me, it makes me realize that we still have a long way to go before we can consider ourselves free from this pandemic. **In Conclusion** The town fiesta has always been a big deal in our town. It's been around since I was a little boy. It’s has always been a time of celebration—a happy time of family and friends, dancing and parades and food. It's my favorite event in our town every year. But this year, there's something missing. The feeling is gone, I guess you could say. It just doesn't feel the same anymore. I'm not sure what's going to happen next year and beyond, but I'm glad the fiesta is happening today: I don't know what I'd do if it didn't happen at all. Copyright 2022 frdchckn. Mobile Legends: My Best MOBA Experience `I just want to take this opportunity to thank my 3rd and newest sponsor,` @Trifecta `Thank you very much for your support!` **MOBAs.** Multiplayer online battle arenas. In the modern day, they're everywhere. Whether you're a fan or a critic, there's no denying that MOBAs are some of the most intensive and competitive games out there, and they're here to stay. Multiplayer online multiplayer battles arenas are fast-paced and competitive, as well as strategic and rewarding. They test your reflexes, your skill in combat, and your ability to work with other players to achieve a common goal. MOBA games also have a serious following in the fighting game community, due to their competitive nature and the fact that players can customize their characters for maximum effectiveness in battle. But which of these intense games is the best? Almost everyone knows what a MOBA is. But it's still hard to find the one that's best for you. I've played a lot of these games, and I've found one that really stands out: Mobile Legends. For me, Mobile Legends is the best MOBA experience on mobile devices, hands down. It's really easy to get into, and it's just as fun as the desktop versions of MOBAs. Mobile Legends is a game wherein instead of the standard point-and-click style of gameplay, you control your character by tapping the screen (a lot). You'll still get to fight alongside with four other players to defeat the enemy team, but you'll do it by smashing your phone into your friend's until everyone cries enough to concede. This game has a lot of great features! It includes characters with unique abilities and team play styles like you would see in other MOBAs. Mobile Legends also has over 100 heroes, which gives you more variety to choose from when building your team. The gameplay is also fast-paced, but don't worry—it's not too intense to play on your smartphone or tablet. Finally, Mobile Legends has a ton of great modes! You can play in ranked matches or quick matches, where you can do single-match practice or play short games with friends. You can also try out the story mode if you want more of a challenge and want to immerse yourself in the game further by playing through its campaign. **My Experience** When my friends and I decided to play Mobile Legends: Bang bang, we had no idea what was in store for us. It was like we were transported into a whole other world, one with its own language, customs, and traditions. Let me tell you: It has changed our lives. We're having so much fun, it's almost like we're in a different world. A better world. A world where we could all be heroes, and were only limited by our imaginations. We all started out pretty skeptical. But when we started playing this game, we realized what its true beauty was: It's like a whole new world. We're so invested in it, it's like we're living in this alternate universe where it's just us and our phones, fighting for supremacy. The best part is that the game is so easy to pick up and play. You have your typical characters, like mages and knights. Then there are your more "funky" characters, like someone who throws knives or a girl who plants bombs. And did I mention there's a gorilla? I mean, come on! How cool is that? From the time I started playing Mobile Legends to the time I'm writing this sentence, I haven't stopped playing once—and neither have my friends. That's because we're all obsessed with this game. One of my favorite parts about this game is that it's so easy to find other players online and form great teams with them. And besides, who doesn't love a good competition? I totally understand if you don't believe me. It sounds crazy! But if you've ever played Mobile Legends: Bang bang and made some friends from it, you'd totally get it! You know how much fun it is to play games with people you care about? The "Write What You Know" Trap **Write What You Know** It's not that it's bad advice, but it also just isn't advice at all. First of all, let's be clear about one thing: "Write what you know" is not actually a piece of advice. It's not something that can help you, or even guide you in any way. Instead, "write what you know" is a trap. It's something to avoid. Sure, it's a good way to get started. But it's easy to fall into a trap of writing what you think will be easy and familiar… and then getting stuck there. This phrase isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, if we were to actually follow it, we would literally never write anything at all. Why? Because the truth is that you know very little. You don't really know what it's like to be someone else, or how they think or experience the world. You can imagine and empathize, but you cannot truly know. You see, "write what you know" means something different depending on who hears it. A woman thinks, "I'm a woman, I can only write stories about women." A man thinks, "I'm a man, I can only write stories about men." Someone who has lost a loved one thinks, "I've lost someone close to me; therefore I can only write about personal loss." What happens here is that we focus on our own personal experiences and let them define us; we stop ourselves from writing about other things because those things are outside our scope of knowledge—because they didn't happen to us personally. This is extremely limiting! It's like saying you can't write a story about aliens because you're not an alien yourself. Or that you can't write about being an astronaut because you've never been to space. The problem is that when we hear "Write what you know," we tend to interpret it as "Only write what you know." This can lead us to have a very limited scope of what we write about, and even more importantly, it can prevent us from taking risks—in our lives and in our writing. When we start out as writers, we only have a limited amount of experience to draw on. And this makes sense! Our lives are short and full of things that need doing. We can't possibly live all the experiences and learn all the lessons of every single person we meet. So we shouldn't feel bad about the fact that most of us don't have much to say at first. We should just be aware of this lack, and recognize that it doesn't mean we can't be writers. Writing what you DON’T know is ok because it is a big part of being a writer—that's where your curiosity will take you, and where you'll get to do some of your most creative work. In Conclusion Writing is about creating things that are new, that have never existed before. Sure, maybe they're based on things from real life—but it's the way those ideas and experiences connect and grow into something completely different that makes them meaningful. It's about opening up a conversation between you and the reader, where both of you are learning something together. You don't have to write about science fiction or high fantasy if that's not what you're comfortable with—but try challenging yourself by exploring something that isn't completely familiar. What if you wrote about something that isn't your life, but could still be relatable for your audience? What if you wrote about a character who is unlike anyone in real life, but still has human characteristics? Or how about writing from the perspective of someone who has an opinion different from your own? The key here is GROWTH—you can't grow as a writer if you never push yourself outside of your comfort zone and try something new! So if I had to give advice to my fellow aspiring writers, I'd say this: **Write what interests you, intrigues you and excites you—because those are the things that will also interest, intrigue and excite your readers.** Copyright 2022 frdchckn. Road to Becoming a Better Writer **Learning how to write is just like learning anything else.** If you want to learn how to play the violin, you need to practice the violin. If you want to learn how to bake a cake, you need to bake a lot of cake. And if you want to learn how to write well, you need to practice writing. A lot of people think that writing is a talent that only certain people are born with, but this is not true! Just as anyone can pick up a violin and learn how to play it, anyone can pick up a pen and learn how to write. But we should always remember that it is a process, and it takes time. But the more you do it, the better you get at it. When I first started writing on this site, it was pretty bad—I had no idea what I was doing! But now, even though I'm a lot better at writing than I was when I started, I still have a lot to learn. **Practice makes perfect** One of the best things about writing is that you can literally practice anywhere and everywhere. You don't have to have a fancy lap desk or a typewriter or anything like that—you just need something to write with, and you can start making your mark. No one starts out awesome: The other beautiful thing about writing is that no one expects you to sound like Shakespeare (or even Stephen King) when they first start out. Writing is something that takes time and effort—just like any other skill—and it takes a while before you're where you want to be. The best way to do that is to take these practices and learn them by heart. Then write every day—even if it's just a little bit. **Here's some of the things I learned when I was practicing writing:** **Keep it simple.** It's okay to start small. You don't have to start with huge essays; you can start by writing a paragraph about what happened today. **Practice makes perfect.** Don't expect to be amazing at writing right away; it takes time and practice. So don't get discouraged if you feel like you're not getting any better at first! Keep going! **Don't be afraid to push yourself.** Try something really scary or hard, even if you think you won't be able to do it! You'll be surprised when you see how much you've improved! You need to let yourself make mistakes and learn from them. And you have to be open to feedback and incorporate it quickly into your way of writing. **Read more books.** Writers are readers first. How do professional writers know what types of content people respond best too? They read it in books! And reading more books doesn't just help your writing skills; it's also great for your brain. **Write every day.** Writing every day will help your writing become natural and smooth—just like playing the violin every day makes notes sound smoother when they flow from the strings—rather than sounding stilted. **In Conclusion** When you're learning how to write, it's easy to feel like the process is mysterious and hard to pin down. But it really isn't that different from learning any other skill—you just have to practice, figure out what works for you, and keep asking questions. And the best part? You don't even have to do all of the work at once. You can take small steps like writing a little bit every day, or taking on an assignment that's just a little bit bigger than the one you're used to. When you boil it down, the best writers are the ones who have learned how to write. They're not born that way; they're made. And if you're still not sure where to start, you could always ask someone else who's good at writing for help! Copyright 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

Reasons Why You're Being Ghosted: Ghoster’s POV How many times have you been ghosted? It happens to most of us at some point. You know what it is, right? In the world of dating, ghosting is a term for when someone you've been dating disappears without giving you an explanation. It can be as simple as no longer responding to your texts or being unable to get in touch with them on social media. There are few things more frustrating than being ghosted. You think things are going well, and you're getting all those pleasant little butterflies, and then… *poof* they're gone! And you might never know what happened. It happens sometimes, unfortunately: two people meet, and it just doesn't click. And that's not fun. A lot of people get really upset and hurt when this happens, but understanding why people ghost can help ease some of the frustration. So, why do people do it? There are many reasons someone might ghost you. But before you start listing all the ways you think you might have messed up, take a minute to think about it from the ghoster's perspective. Maybe they didn't totally disappear because they hate you, think you're ugly, or want to make you cry. Here are some reasons why people ghost someone: `First off, I'd like to state that I'm not in any way in favor of ghosters. I didn't make this article to protect or defend them. I know that ghosting is bad. But it's important to note that there are always at least two sides to a story—and neither party is always blameless.` Bad timing You may have met a really great person, but maybe they're just coming out of an intense breakup and aren't ready for a new relationship. Maybe they're about to start a really stressful new job or move across the country for school. Maybe they’re just too busy with their lives to keep up with this relationship at the moment. Whatever the case, it's entirely possible that the timing just isn't right for them when it comes to dating you. Lack of compatibility You might be exactly what they're looking for in a partner…but they might not be what you're looking for, and this is something they can sense on some level. Dating is exciting at first because you're getting to know someone new, but after a while, if it becomes clear that you don't want the same things from life or from a relationship, then one of you might decide it's just not worth investing any more time in pursuing things further. Maybe you’re not on the same page. You're too nice This one sucks, but you may have been ghosted because you seemed "too nice." Being too nice can actually be a bad thing when it comes to dating. Ghosters said that when someone is just kind of super nice all the time, they don't feel like there are any ups and downs in their relationship with that person, and that makes them want to end things before they really get started. It can also be because they are often terrified of hurting others who are too nice for them, and sometimes they think it will be easier to deal with that way. Unmatched expectations If the person who ghosted you has a lot of experience with dating and relationships, they probably had some sort of expectation set before the date. If their expectations weren't met in some way, they may have decided not to pursue anything further with you. This is all right—you'll find someone who's more aligned with your interests and values! They're unsure of their feelings. I know that the biggest thing on your mind when you're ghosted is why, but it's important to keep in mind that this person probably doesn't even know why they ghosted you. They might not have been sure of their feelings, or maybe they just needed some time to process. Sometimes, people just aren't sure if what they have with someone is actually a good match or not. If there was no huge fight or anything like that that happened between you and your date, it's possible that they felt unsure about their feelings for you and didn't know how to deal with it in any other way than by leaving without explanation. Ghosting is, in my opinion, a cowardly way to handle an uncomfortable or difficult situation. But I don't think that ghosters are bad people. I just think they respond poorly to situations that scare them or make them feel uncertain.  It's understandable, considering how scary and frustrating the dating world can be for some of us. It's not like there's a guidebook to help you deal with all those painful and confusing emotions — but that doesn't mean that the ghoster is without fault. And make no mistake: if you've been ghosted, it was wrong of your date to vanish without an explanation. But maybe it's time we try and understand why they disappear on us. If we can figure out what causes someone to pull away so suddenly and abruptly, then maybe we can avoid making the same mistakes ourselves. I know I'd rather talk through things than run away from them. I’m not at all justifying or endorsing ghosting, but I think we can all agree that there’s a certain amount of dishonesty in it—and if we’re going to learn from our mistakes and grow as people, we have to be honest about them. This article isn’t made to make excuses for the ghosts in your life; I just want you to understand that there are ghosters out there with their own reasons, and that they may not be trying to hurt you. I know that ghosting is bad. But before you roll your eyes at another article trying to put the perspective of some ghosters, hear me out: sometimes there's more going on in their life than you realize.  `Note: I am not a ghoster and I want to give you a piece of advice: Choose your dates carefully and wisely!` *All images are edited from canva.* *Lead image from DatingScout.com* *Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. Despite All The Negativity, I Write We've all been there, right? When we're having trouble thinking positively, it can feel like there's something wrong with us—like we need to change something about ourselves. But what if instead of focusing on changing ourselves or our thoughts in order to be happier, we could just accept that we are who we are and work with what we've got? Now hear me out. Yes, I know: We've all heard the advice about how we should focus on the positive and try to think more positively. I get it. But for some of us, that can feel like an uphill battle—and the harder you try to be positive, the more negative you feel. It's like a kind of cognitive whiplash. We were told to replace "I can't" with "I can." To replace "I hate" with "I love." To replace "It's impossible" with "Anything's possible!" But now that we're adults, we realize: Sometimes those negative thoughts are right. Sometimes the thing you want to accomplish is impossible. Sometimes you do hate something. Sometimes you can't do something. But what if it doesn't have to be that way? What if you can actually work WITH your brain and your thoughts instead of against them? What if you can learn to embrace your negative thoughts and turn them into something that actually serves you? What if instead of trying to silence those negative thoughts altogether, we could actually turn them into something good? Something productive? Maybe even something that helps US be a little happier? Instead of trying to replace your negative thoughts with positive ones, why not try actually listening to your negative thoughts for once? Maybe they have something useful to say. Maybe you should listen to them for a bit and let them tell you what's on their mind. If you listen long enough, maybe you'll learn something about yourself, about where those thoughts are coming from, and why you're having them in the first place. **Don't let negative thoughts stop you from making progress.** I used to be a negative thinker. I mean, I had plenty of good ideas, but when I sat down to write, I'd catch myself thinking things like "this is terrible" or "no one is ever going to buy this." In the past, these thoughts would cause me to give up and move on to something else. But now, I know better. I know that the only way to create something great is to do just that: create. I can't expect my first draft to be a masterpiece. Those things are rare. And if they're not rare, then they're probably not very good. The point is this: if you want to write something people will read, you need to keep writing until it's something people want to read. It won't happen on your first attempt (probably). It might not even happen on your second or third attempt—but eventually, it will happen if you keep trying. I've found that the best way to combat negative thoughts is by following a simple process. First, I acknowledge and write down whatever it is that's on my mind. Now that it's in front of me, I can look at it objectively and dissect what's wrong with it. Often, this reveals that the idea isn't as bad as I initially thought! If there are still parts of it that aren't working for me, however, then I can work through them without fear of losing sight of the first draft or the original idea behind it. Another thing you can do when you're caught in a negative spiral is to take a step back and look at your work from an objective perspective. When you look at it again, envision how someone else might see it. Is it really so bad? Can you find something good about it? You'll usually be able to find some redeeming quality in your work, and by focusing on that instead of the negative, you'll be able to get back on track with a more positive attitude. I am trying my best to understand myself as a negative thinker. We should not be criticizing ourselves for every small mistake we make, rather, appreciate it as we learn from it. Sometimes we even learn from our mistakes and become a better person. *Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All Rights Reserved.*

Better Late than Never How fast time flies! I remember it was just yesterday when I paid last month's internet bill. And yet here we are, already at the dreaded day of reckoning: it's due today. Things are just moving so fast. I'm sure many of you can relate to this. Time goes by so fast, and it can be hard to keep track of all the bills that need to be paid in the span of a month. It's almost like they're multiplying. One way or another, there always seems to be one that slips through the cracks! I've never been a fan of speed, not in any sense of the word. Too fast only leaves me breathless and burnt out. I like to take things slow and easy, because that way I get to enjoy more of the journey, rather than constantly worrying about my destination and how soon I'm going to get there. But sometimes, despite all my efforts at slowing down, life has a way of speeding things up so much that I feel like my head's going to explode! I have a bad habit of paying our bills late. I don't do it on purpose. For me, the problem is that I'm constantly busy, and the task of going to pay doesn't seem urgent until it's too late. This month is one of those months. We have our bills to pay on top of our usual expenses—plus we have a lot of deadlines to meet for our school activities. We're busy people and we can't afford to turn in assignments late or flunk out of classes! It's not my first time either. It's happened before—and it'll happen again. I'm not here to advocate for paying bills late, but I do want to acknowledge what it means to be human and miss deadlines or fail to meet expectations sometimes, even when we don't want to. And you know what? When that happens, when goals are missed or promises go unfulfilled, it can feel pretty bad. It's disappointing, and sometimes it can feel like a huge setback. It can be hard not to see yourself as a failure when you miss something so important. This is especially true for students like me who are working hard to balance work and school, but often come up short on both ends because there aren't enough hours in the day for everything we have to get done. Balancing work, school, and life can feel impossible and overwhelming at times—and there are moments when you need something tangible that lets you know you're not alone in that struggle, just trying your best in a world full of deadlines and expectations. Late fees aren't fun (trust me, I know), but they're also not the end of the world. Sometimes they can help break up the monotony of trying-hard-but-not-quite-reaching-the-finish-line. I know that a lot of people out there are trying their best to do the right thing, and when they can't do it, they feel terrible about it. They're embarrassed and anxious and disappointed in themselves. I've realized that the reason I often feel so guilty about missing a deadline or letting someone down is that I put too much pressure on myself. The whole "you can do it all" mentality doesn't really work when you're trying to juggle a full-time job, social life, and classes when you're not sure whether you're going to pass them or not (which is a whole other story). I'm working on taking the pressure off of myself and just aiming to do my best in each area of my life. I think we should all remember to live in the moment as much as we can and cut ourselves some slack when things fall through the cracks because they inevitably will. 2 Years After Breakup I will never forget the day me and my ex broke up. It was two years ago today—the 19th of April, 2020. We were in a relationship for a long time. Now, I'm not going to lie. She was gorgeous. But looks aren't everything, as they say. And what those people are saying is true. Unfortunately, there's a lot more to life than simply having good looks. I wish I could say it was just a matter of our personalities clashing, but it wasn't that simple. In fact, at first, we got along pretty well. We had similar interests and could spend hours talking about life. We even spent time together after school. That worked out really well for us for years, until one day when it just… didn't anymore. I don't really know what happened—things just changed slowly over time until she realized I wasn't the man for her anymore. It's been two years since then, and while I've learned a lot of things in that time, there's one big thing I've learned above all else: **relationships are hard.** I thought it'd be easy to find someone. But it wasn't. There were so many people who weren't right for me, or who weren't ready to be with me. And when I finally did find someone who was amazing and who made me feel safe and loved, it didn't work out because of something really stupid on our part. I was selfish and impatient and stuck in my own head—and I know she wasn't perfect either, but she was trying her hardest to do what was best for both of us. And I wasn't. She wasn't perfect; no one is. But she was mine and she took care of me when I needed her most. And when we broke up, it felt like losing her meant losing a big part of myself. It meant having to regain my independence and find new ways to cope with my stress levels and panic attacks without someone else helping me through them. I'm grateful for her still, though. She taught me a lot about myself, about what I want in a relationship, and how to be more patient with others—and with myself. And now that I've had some time to get over the hurt she caused by just wanting what was best for herself too (even if it hurt me), I think we both ended up growing from the experience—and we're both better people now. I'm grateful for everything we shared together—the memories, the history, the love—but most of all, I'm grateful for what came after: the chance to get to know myself better than ever before, and the opportunity to find someone who knows how to love me completely and unconditionally. Two years have passed since that fateful day in 2020—and it feels like just yesterday. But then, something weird happened: life went on. It turns out that as much as it feels like the end of the world when you're going through a break up, it turns out that life doesn't stop just because you failed. And the truth is that even though a relationship may have ended, your life did not. You still have people who love you—even if you don't feel like it in the moment—and there are still things in your life that are meaningful to you even if it doesn't feel like it right now. *If you're going through a break-up, or if you've gone through one recently and still feel down about it, know that in time things will get better. You'll find someone new that fits better with who you are now.* All images are from unsplash.com and istock. Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

NO THANKS: Don't Accept Money For Your Vote Every election, candidates and campaigns use a variety of strategies to persuade voters, some of which are perfectly legal, and others that aren't. While there's nothing illegal about offering free pizza or concert tickets to get people to vote, giving someone cash or another form of direct payment in exchange for their vote is against the law. It's called **"vote buying."** The Philippines is one of the few countries in the world where vote buying is a common occurrence. It occurs most often during the campaign period, when candidates are desperate to be elected into office. Candidates will offer money, goods, or services in exchange for votes. The vote-buying process usually begins with the candidate approaching a voter and offering them some kind of incentive to vote for them. This incentive could be anything from cash, food items, or even alcohol. In addition to this, candidates may also promise voters jobs or other benefits if they win the election. Vote buying has been around since the beginning of democracy but it has become more widespread in recent years due to lower levels of public awareness about this practice and increased poverty rates among Filipinos.  This practice is illegal and morally wrong. However, this happens a lot. Vote buying is illegal in the Philippines according to Republic Act 9006 which was enacted on February 26th 2008. This law makes it a crime punishable by imprisonment from 2 months to 1 year and/or fines ranging from 500 pesos upwards depending on whether you are found guilty of vote buying. There's a reason why Filipinos have this reputation for being 'easy to please' when it comes to elections. It's because we get caught up in empty political promises and the fear of change, which are the easiest traps to fall into. It's also a lot easier to play the sympathy game than it is to try and implement a solid plan for the country (and if you think a politician has your best interests at heart, chances are he or she has nothing). Voters in the Philippines should be empowered to vote based on true beliefs rather than be swayed by illegal elections practices. In this way, we can make sure that people are electing their representatives fairly and with good intentions. Every election is super important. If you remember back to the past elections, it was really scary because some people were getting bribed by votes. So this time, let's be smart and prevent that from happening. **Here are some ways to keep yourself from being bought out by votes:** **Make sure your vote actually counts! Don't just vote for the candidate who gave you food—vote for the one who will truly represent your interests and help you improve your life.** **Don't let anyone pressure you into voting for a particular candidate—you get to decide who you want to support!** **If someone offers you money or other items (like food) in exchange for voting a certain way, politely decline. This is illegal and could land them in hot water. It's also not fair if they're trying to buy votes from people who don't have enough resources of their own!** **Stay safe by going with friends or family members instead of visiting polling places alone. You'll be less vulnerable with someone else by your side!** **Encourage your friends and family to say no as well.** Always remember that you can't be forced to vote for a certain candidate, or someone shouldn't force you to vote for their candidate in order for you to receive something from them. You can't be bribed if you don't want to. Don't let yourselves be bought by votes! While I understand that this might seem tempting, I really encourage you to resist the urge to take the money. These politicians are trying to buy your vote because they know it's valuable, so don't sell yourself short! The politicians should be fighting for our votes—not bribing us for them. This is the Philippines' election time, so it's going to be rampant with all kinds of political strategies to get people to vote. This time, have your game face on and stick to what you value most. That way, you can keep yourself from being swayed by fake promises and superficial values that politics in the Philippines offers everyone. Also remember that it's not enough not to fall for them. Spread the word of goodness into others and make this country a better place. Every vote counts, everyone's voice matters, so understand what you're voting for and aim a little higher this time. Your vote has power! Go out there and use it wisely! Lead image from Rappler Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

New Hope, New Beginnings, and New Life Is it just me, or did this Holy Week fly by? It was a whirlwind of quality time with family and friends, and I feel like we were just coming out of our chocolatey hazes before we had to dive into planning for the next days. But I suppose that's the beauty of it all: time flies when you're having fun. Holy Week has come and gone, and now we’re back to reality. It’s hard to think that it's time to put the vacation on hold for a little while longer, folks! Even though it was a great break, we've got to get back to the grind. Vacation is great, but sometimes we wish it could last a little bit longer. Catching up on sleep and spending time with family and friends can leave us feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. And even though that vacation is over, we can still take a little bit of it into the office—or wherever your workspace might be. After all, we've got big goals to accomplish this year, and it's been a good break from the daily grind. That means putting our head down and getting to work, but also remembering that it's okay to stop for a minute to smell the roses. Because even though this week (and this month) might be packed full of meetings and deadlines, there's always time for a little bit of fun. Let's use that fresh perspective to think outside the box and make big things happen! We might be moving on from our Holy Week celebrations, but that doesn't mean we can't keep the spirit of Easter with us all year long. We're not just talking about the chocolate bunnies and eggs—we're talking about Easter's greatest gift: resurrection. The Lord wants to give us a new way of living in His light and sharing His love with one another—a way that doesn't just make Easter Sunday special but makes every day special. The Lord has promised us that if we ask Him, He will help us live like this. That is our God's gift to us, and it's an amazing reminder that we are never truly dead or defeated. No matter what happens in life, we have hope that God can make something beautiful out of it. We must realize that Jesus didn't just die for our sins and resurrect to save us from our evil ways, he also was an inspiration to us all. We should aspire to be kinder, more loving, and more generous—just like Jesus. When we think about Easter, we tend to think about Jesus Christ rising from the dead, or maybe about a bunny hiding eggs around the house. But actually, Easter is a celebration of new life. It's a chance to remember that even when it feels like everything is coming apart at the seams, there's still a chance for rebirth and renewal in every human being. The beauty of Easter is that while it is a specific time in which we celebrate, it's also a state of mind—a way of approaching the world. So instead of losing the spirit of Easter now that it's over, why not try to integrate the lessons of this holiday into your everyday life? Take some time each day to look inward and think about what you can do to help the people around you. We think you'll be surprised by how much better it makes you feel! The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ on the Cross Explained The seven last words of Jesus Christ on the cross are some of the most important phrases said in human history. These short statements, each only a few words long, are the final teachings that Jesus gave before he died. Each of these seven statements is incredibly powerful and worth careful consideration. Here, I'll break down what each of these seven last words means and how we can use them as inspiration for our own life. **1. Jesus Speaks to the Father (Luke 23:34) - Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."** This was one of the most poignant moments in the Bible--Jesus was dying on the cross and he didn't have long to live. And yet, the first thing that came out of his mouth was forgiveness. It's no secret that Jesus was forgiving--he even forgave Judas for betraying him! If we can live our lives even half as forgiving as Jesus did, we'll have done pretty well for ourselves. Imagine if we could all have this attitude when dealing with those who have hurt us. What a beautiful example of love and forgiveness! 2: Jesus Speaks to the Dying Thief (Luke 23:43) - Jesus said to the thief on the cross beside Him, "Today you will be with me in paradise." The thief on the cross had no chance to do anything good. He was dying. But he had heard of Jesus and knew who He was. He asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus came into His kingdom. And Jesus said, "Today you will be with me in paradise". We can rest assured that all we have to do is reach out to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness and He will give it. No matter how messed up our lives become; no matter what we have done or left undone, all we have to do is call out to Him in humility and repentance and ask for His grace and mercy and it shall be ours. **3: Jesus Speaks to Mary (John 19:26-27) - Jesus said to His mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and then He said to John "Here is your mother."** Jesus acknowledged the importance of family. He was letting His mother know that she would be cared for. When he talked to John, He was entrusting him to take care of His mother when He wasn't able to anymore. This moment highlights how important it is for us to let our loved ones know that they are cared for and not just in the good times, but also in difficult ones too. It also shows us how important it is to be there for our loved ones when they need us most. 4: Jesus Cries Out to the Father (Matthew 27:46) - And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” This is most likely the hardest to understand of Jesus’ seven last words. I don’t think anyone really understands why Jesus would ever feel forsaken by God. But it’s important to note that this was not a time of abandonment. Rather, it was a time of separation. When Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” He was taking on our sins, and as a result, experiencing the separation from God that our sins deserve. So we can rejoice in knowing that because of Jesus and His sacrifice for us we never have to be separated from God again! 5. Jesus Is Thirsty (John 19:28) - Jesus knew that everything was now finished, and to fulfill the Scriptures he said, "I am thirsty." It's important to remember that Jesus said this not as a common man, but as God—the source of all life and sustenance. He was thirsting for us, so that we could be refreshed, healed, and redeemed by his gift of life. We can take this as inspiration for our own lives: when we feel worn out or used up, the best path forward is to keep giving ourselves away. When we do this, we find ourselves renewed and re-filled in ways we never could have anticipated. 6. It Is Finished (John 19:30) - ... he said, "It is finished!" He has completed His mission — He has accomplished exactly what He was called to do by God the Father. And that should be an inspiration to us: while we may never achieve the same level of perfection as Jesus did in our own lives, each of us have been called by God to fulfill our own unique purpose here on earth. We are each uniquely equipped to accomplish certain tasks in ways that no one else can. 7. Jesus' Last Words (Luke 23:46) - Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last. These powerful words are a reminder that we are not in control of our own lives—God is. When we entrust ourselves to God and accept his salvation through Jesus Christ, we can find peace in knowing that he is ultimately in control over our lives. As Jesus' disciples, we are called to trust in the Lord for all things, including the circumstances of our own lives. So here are the seven last words of Jesus Christ and what they can mean to us personally. As you now know, the seven last words is a rich tradition with a source in the book of life. While every story about these words has a different lesson for us, we don't have to look far to find inspiration and motivation in them. Let these stories be reminders of what's truly important — let them remind you of your own life. And most importantly, share those stories so that they can inspire others to do the same. With all of these in mind, let's take some time to reflect on our daily lives. How are we putting others first, living for today or preparing for tomorrow? With an understanding of the seven last words of Jesus Christ, it's possible to increase our faith and be more aware that there is a power greater than ourselves that works through us. Let's continue to praise God and love one another. Happy Easter Everyone! Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All rights reserved.

After 3 Long Years, I Became Jesus Christ Again Greetings! I have a very good news to share with you. After 3 years, I became Jesus Christ again! Yesterday, I just shared with you the day I became Jesus Christ, which is the Holy Week before the pandemic came to our country. If you haven’t read it yet, here it is: The Day I Became Jesus Christ https://read.cash/@frdchckn/the-day-i-became-jesus-christ-64f2d8c3 But today is different. Instead of another painful scourging and crucifixion, we're walking around in a station where Jesus is already dead and Mary is carrying her dead son. So for those who don't know what the station of the cross is: The Station of the Cross or Way of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows or simply the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. The stations grew out of imitations of Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem which is believed to be the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. The object of the stations is to help the Christian faithful to make a spiritual pilgrimage through contemplation of the Passion of Christ. Good Friday, is the most solemn day of the year. It is the day when we remember that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins. Some people may find it weird. Why do we need to be saved? What sin did we commit? Well, we're all sinful and imperfect. We just can't help ourselves sometimes. When we were kids, it's really hard to not take that candy your friend is holding even though you know it's not yours. When we get older, it's even harder to control our emotions and be angry at someone who did something wrong against us. We're all sinners and no matter how hard we try to be perfect and holy, all of us will still fall short and make mistakes in life. But thankfully, Jesus Christ took all of those sins for us so that we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven someday. And because He loves us so much, He rose again 3 days after his death so that we become a new person when He comes back in our lives through baptism or confirmation. Today I think we should give a special honor to Mama Mary. In here, she carries her dead son on her shoulders and also on her heart. She was a young mother of 33 years when she gave birth to Jesus Christ but now she carried him as a dead body. My heart breaks for her. I can imagine that moment when Mama Mary hugged her son for the last time and cried her heart out. It is really heart breaking because I feel like I am experiencing the same thing that happened more than 2000 years ago when Jesus Christ died. I wonder how she did it when she lost one of the most important pillars in her life. She has to stand strong and go through this very hard times because there are many people who need her strength like John the Beloved and Martha, Lazarus' sister. And no matter how painful it was for her to lose someone whom she loved so much, it's not yet over because she still needs to witness his death in front of everyone without having anyone who will hold her as broken as she is or wipe away her tears. It was a very touching scene and I couldn't help but cry while I am being carried by Mama Mary’s arms. It makes me feel like I am truly her son, her real son. I hope next time there will be no more pandemic so that we can have our yearly procession and continue our very long tradition. All photos including the lead image are all mine. The Day I Became Jesus Christ Greetings! Today, I have something very special to share with you. Something that changed my life forever. I have a unique opportunity to tell you about events that I was personally involved in and make this blog super interesting for everyone. I am here to tell you about how I became Jesus Christ. It's holiday time for Christians! As I am writing this article, it is Holy Week that celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a very big week for Christians all around the world. Personally, this is one of my most favorite times of the year. There’s a lot of activities like street processions that travel around our town. One of which is the cross-carrying procession that marks the beginning of Easter Sunday. There is also a Station of the Cross where different important events during those times were portrayed while people are participating in the procession. And here’s where the story of me becoming Jesus Christ enters. We have a big tradition of performing the stations of the cross every year in our town where everyone has a role to play—it's basically like the whole town comes together to perform the story of Christ's death. So I had grown up watching my older cousins play the parts of Jesus’ apostles and other folks who witnessed the crucifixion. I have witnesses how they have become so good portraying their roles that it was really believable. Then my time to be part of the picture came. The day I got to play Jesus was such a happy day for me and everyone in our town. I will forever remember that day because there's no feeling like becoming someone you admire. It was three years ago when I portrayed Jesus Christ by reenacting one of stations of Christ's Passion during the procession in our town. The day I became Jesus Christ was the stations that of the scourging. In the station, my uncle dressed as a Roman Soldier tied me up. I was standing there on my knees as he beat me with a whip. No, don't worry, I wasn't really scourged or even stabbed with a spear. I also didn't die on the cross and then resurrect three days later. Well, not physically at least. But you get my point. Just imitating how it is to be scourged. The person just whipped me with a piece of cloth, and there was no blood (just fake blood) or harm on my body. But the thing was, after a few minutes, I started feeling the pain that Jesus must've felt from those whips and also every emotion that He felt when He was being beaten. It felt like forever, but it only lasted for a few minutes.  I suddenly realized how tough it was for Him to withstand all those pains just so He can save His people. His love for us is incomparable; it is beyond this world. After people participating in the procession were almost out of that station, and tears began to fall from my eyes because of what happened to me—I felt like I finally understood why He did it. He did it because He loves us SO MUCH! He was beaten and scourged within an inch of His life and yet He never denied Himself of who He really is and why He came to this earth. My eyes were still blurry with tears when we got out of the station, but then when I looked at my family walking with me under the darkness of the cold night, everything got clearer—and I saw their faces filled with joy and hope. Being a participant in the Holy Week Celebration is one of the most unforgettable moments for me. It was a great pride for our family, since everyone (starting from my great grandfathers) has been taking part on it since the beginning of the century. It was really fantastic and amazing. I was really amazed with the devotion of the people. I felt like I was Jesus Christ during His last days on earth. The feeling inside me was so powerful that it cannot be describe in words in which every religious person will feel. In this experience, I realized what it must have felt like to be crucified and scourged by Romans. I felt Jesus Christ's pain both on the cross and because of the cruel words that were spoken to Him. The comparisons to how Jesus suffered greatly was an eye opener for me, which made me stop and think that everyone goes through hard times in life. Many times we are tied up at work, in school, at home or wherever we are doing something unpleasant and we feel like someone is beating us up because they are telling us bad things about us. Using our trials in our life can reveal His love to us if we will just open our heart to receive it. We can also take on the role of the executioner and hurt others through our words. Words can hurt and so can we, no matter what it is that we say or do. So we need to be merciful when we speak to others bad words can hurt them as much or more than physical beating. The lesson I learned from this experience as Jesus Christ is that I need to be more compassionate toward other people. I need to show people the love of Jesus every day - be more tolerant with people who hurt me because they may not know what they are doing or how much their words can hurt. Most importantly, I was able to understand why we should forgive others and most of all, to forgive myself. *All photos including the lead image are mine.* Copyright, 2022 @frdchckn. Sad and Happy: Bittersweet Feeling It is strange to be both sad and happy at the same time. And yet, that is what I am. I'm having a bit of a bittersweet day. I'm a little down today. I've been writing these articles for a while now, and a lot of you have given me some great tips. But it's been a while since Rusty has tipped my articles and I'm not quite sure why. I've been trying to put out my best work, but sometimes I just can't tell if it's any good. And it's like he just stopped paying attention to me entirely. Maybe I upset him somehow? I'm not sure what happened, but he just stopped coming around. Maybe I did something wrong? I wish he would tell me what's up. I could really use the money that Rusty would have given me through tipping my articles, and I don't know what I did to make him stop. On the bright side, I had something to be happy about today. Yesterday, I was selected as one of the new set of Junior SAFE Officers at school! I'd heard that they were looking for students who are interested to join their team. When I found out that they were doing interviews, I made sure to sign up and put together the best possible application package I could. I actually got a little nervous about the interview, but once it started, it went really well! A couple of hours later, the current officers announced the results in our group chat. I was very happy when I saw my name on the list of the chosen new members! I've been wanting to get into this organization for a long time, and it feels great to be accepted. It's a really tight-knit group, so I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better. They're all sharp and hard-working, so I'm hoping to learn from them and grow in this role. To give you an insight, our role is to audit the financial information of the other mandated organizations in our school like the Student Council, SOUL, etc. in order to make sure there aren't any discrepancies and to know that the funds coming from different sources are used well for the benefit of our fellow students. Being selected as a Junior SAFE Officer will offer me new opportunities to grow myself personally and professionally, and I’m sure that it will be a rewarding experience. It will help me deepen my knowledge and sharpen my skills in auditing which are incredibly important for an aspiring accountant like me. I'm really excited about it! So here it is, my friends: I hope that this post has been helpful to you in some way. And should you find yourself in the position that I found myself earlier in my life, I hope you’ll find the reason to be happy again. I know this article is utterly pointless, but I wanted to let you guys know what's going on with me. I hope that anyone reading this knows that if they need someone to talk to, or just someone to be with them while they're sad without being all pushy. Now, I'm going to go out and get myself some ice cream, because that's what you do when you're both sad and happy! `Lead image from Idiom Corner` `Copyright, 2022 frdchckn. All Rights Reserved.`

Holy Week Myths and Superstitions in the Philippines When you get to know the rich culture of a place, there are some fun and exciting things that you'll learn about. One of them is the unique beliefs and stories that go along with each country's special holidays. These myths and superstitions are sometimes quirky, sometimes downright scary, but always interesting. One of the biggest holidays in the Philippines is Holy Week. During this holiday, there are several folklore and customs passed on through our elders to the young ones, which are sometimes believed by many to be truthful. For the most part, Filipinos are a deeply religious people. Perhaps it is in our blood, because even the slightest remembrance of faith has always been an important ingredient in everything we do. This makes the country's Holy Week a festival that goes beyond religion and spreads into the fringes of popular culture. The various myths, traditions, and superstitions vary widely from town to town and village to village. While some are common throughout the country, others are only known by certain regions or families. To prove this, here are some popular myths and superstitions that are rooted within the tradition. I've also included practical tips you can use when you visit the Philippines during Holy Week. It is forbidden to take a bath at three o'clock in the afternoon on Good Friday. Don't wash your hair during Holy Week or else you'll have bad luck all year. Avoid getting wounded because it takes a longer time to heal. Some believe that wounds sustained on Good Friday will not heal until Easter Sunday or Holy Monday, depending on your faith. The same is true for cuts from knives or razors during this period, which is why some Filipinos avoid cutting their nails or hair. It is not advised to use sharp objects like knife or scissors during these days because you might slash yourself accidentally and bleed profusely. Refrain from speaking or laughing out loud because you could be easily touched by an evil spirit. It is believed that during this time, evil spirits abound and may get you if you do not follow the rule. Also, this myth is said to be rooted in the belief that it was bad to be too happy during Holy Week because Jesus was suffering on the cross. Sweeping every night is a no-no as it will bring bad luck, as well as drive away blessings. While you're free to go out on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, it's considered best to stay in. This is because legend says that come these days, evil spirits are free to roam the earth and would harm people or even kill them if they go out. Don't make noise such as playing karaoke or honking your car's horn, as it may disturb wild souls. During Holy Week, it is forbidden to grill meat on Easter. It is also advisable to avoid eating pork, chicken or beef as well as other dishes that use ingredients derived from animals with four legs. It is okay to eat fish, however. This tradition stems from the Catholic Church's practice of abstaining from meat during Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter). Grilling or cooking meat during Holy Week is also considered taboo. Refrain from traveling by car or plane because it could lead to accidents. The belief is that Jesus traveled by foot when he was crucified so people should follow suit by walking instead of driving during Easter week. If a pregnant woman eats mangoes during Holy Week, she will give birth to a child with a cleft lip. It is forbidden to wear bright or colorful clothes during Holy Week, as dark colors are used by mourners in the past, and wearing these colors would bring bad luck. When it comes to tradition, Filipinos are very serious. It would seem as though it would be easy to break these Holy Week traditions—after all, a lot of them are probably just old wives’ tales—but these customs were born out of respect for our Catholic heritage. Every Filipino is familiar with some of the myths and superstitions about Holy Week. If these are taken as facts, it can be a cause for fear and precaution. There are many widespread publication circulating the web, trying to substitute these myths with logic and reasoning. Yet, there are still many people who believe in these fables to this day. Unsurprisingly, there is no scientific basis to most of these myths and superstitions (I say this because generally Christians tend to be more rational when it comes to religious beliefs). Rather, you will see from the explanations given by Filipinos that deep religious beliefs play a part in their rationale for these Holy Week superstitions. The stories might sound a bit farfetched, but whether you're a believer or not, it's good to know a bit about the history and traditions of our own culture. If you have friends from other cultures, this knowledge can help you to appreciate their religious practices as well.  I hope this post inspired you to learn more about the rituals and traditions of Holy Week in the Philippines, which is a very fascinating part of Filipino culture. Don't forget to share your knowledge with us in the comments section below! Lead image from philnews.ph Copyright, 2022 @frdchckn All Rights Reserved.

Getting Triumphant with the Cashflow Quadrant If you have read the bestselling book Rich Dad Poor Dad, then you have undoubtedly heard about the Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. In fact, if you had been a fan of personal development books, you might have seen him referenced many times through other books and quotes. But what is the Cashflow Quadrant? Cashflow Quadrant is a concept created by Robert Kiyosaki, best-selling author and founder of Rich Dad. In his book, Robert divides the population into four categories: E, S, I and B. To put it simply E stands for employee, S stands for self-employed/entrepreneur, I stands for investor and B stands for business owner/business magnate. The objective of the Cashflow Quadrant is to transform our lives from being an E (being stuck in the middle) to being a B (highest income potential). In his book, you'll learn how the rich think and act differently than the poor, the self-employed, and the employees. You'll learn about the importance of assets and liabilities, as well as how to use them to your advantage. The quadrant shows that most people work on the left side of the quadrant, but those who are financially independent or wealthy work on the right side of the quadrant. **Left Side** On the left side of the quadrant, there are two types of people: employees and self-employed. The left side of the quadrant will not give you financial freedom, nor will it make you wealthy. **Employees** make their money by working for someone else, and getting paid based on their time. This is the most stable income, as long as you have a job. But it's also one of the hardest ways to get rich, because you're trading your time for money. And no matter how much money you make an hour, there's a limit to how much time you can spend at your job. **Self-employed** make their money through trading time for money - they just happen to be working for themselves instead of someone else. As a self-employed person, your income is limited by how much time you have to work—because if you don't work, then you don't get paid. But unlike employees, your income isn't capped by someone else. So if you can learn to delegate or automate some of your tasks, it can be more profitable than working for an employer. **Right Side** On the right side of the quadrant, there are also two types of people: business owners and investors. This is where you want to be. This is where the power is. If you are serious about wealth creation, this is where you need to be. **Business owners** make money when they aren’t at work; they get paid based on how well they have built their company and what kind of value it generates.  You work hard and put in the hours, but you call all the shots. You're in control of what you earn. **Investors**, similarly, make money when they aren’t at work; they get paid based on how well they have invested their capital, and what kind of value it generates. The Investor Quadrant is where you'll use your money to make more money. This side of the quadrant can really help you increase your wealth, especially if you're working on your passive income streams. **Why does this matter?** Because it tells you where you should spend your energy if you want to build wealth. If you want to become wealthy, you need to stop trading time for money. There's no doubt that having a job is important—but if you're looking for long-term financial stability and wealth, it's important to focus on your investments as well. Even if you aren't able to do this full-time now, you can start making small steps to shift from focusing on being an employee to focusing on being an investor (or better yet—an entrepreneur). It's true. You can be successful with the Cashflow Quadrant. But it takes work, and dedication, and a lot of patience. The Cashflow Quadrant is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. It's not a magic formula that you can use once and watch your money pour in, never having to do anything ever again. No! The Cashflow Quadrant is a guide for how you can live your life—every day—to ensure that your finances are always secure. Lead image from Gbonjubola Sanni Copyright 2022 frdchckn. Hey there fellow readcashers! Has anyone of you heard of the book by Robert Kiyosaki entitled, Rich Dad Poor Dad?

Everyone, Meet my Bestfriend, Covid We've all heard that pets make us feel good. They cheer us up when we're sad and make us happy when we're down. Some might even say they are better than humans. Well at least I hear my dog's better than most humans I've met. He's a great pal and he's never let me down. I would love to introduce you all to my bestfriend, Covid. I know what you're thinking: "Oh no, he's one of THOSE people." But I swear he's actually a dog. I'm sure everyone reading this has a story like mine—of how they were blindsided by the pandemic, or maybe even lost someone dear to them during these difficult and uncertain times. And for me, it was no different. But then something happened that changed everything. On March, 2020—the day we went into lockdown—our dog named Browny (she’s now in doggo heaven, run free Browny) gave birth to a tiny litter of puppies and one of them got my attention. A cute little dog having eyes with different colors. I asked my parent if I could have him, and they said yes! What else could they do? And as I watched him take his very first breaths and wiggle his tiny paws, I knew we were meant to be together forever. Without him, who knows how lonely and isolated this quarantine might've been? So on that fateful day, little Covid entered my life. Everyone, meet my bestfriend When he was born in March 2020, I knew I had to name him after something that was going on in the world at the time. And what better way to honor the memory of this pandemic than with a puppy? But don’t get me wrong here-this guy is no virus! He is the best thing that could've happened to me at such a scary time in history. I have been thinking about writing this post for a long time now. But I've always found excuses to not actually write the post. Why? Because I am a little nervous and afraid that the love I have for him may be misunderstood. Covid is the sweetest, cutest dog in the whole world. He likes to cuddle and play fetch and he loves to run around in the yard. He's smart, too—he already knows how to sit and lay down on command. We're working on teaching him to roll over now. After that, we'll have to see! He loves to eat. A lot. Too much, really. He has a problem with gluttony. He's trying to get help for it, but sometimes he just can't help himself—especially when it comes to fish bones. Fish bones are his kryptonite; he'll do anything for it. Covid is definitely not what you'd call a "low-maintenance" dog. He's high energy, and he's always getting into trouble. Every time I leave our house, I have to hide my charger cables so that he doesn't chew them up. But he's also extremely loyal and smart—he knows when someone is at the door before they even ring the bell, and he makes sure to protect me by barking at anyone who looks suspicious. Even though he's only 2 years old, Covid has already gone through so much with me. We've celebrated holidays together, ran around the house and we've even visited our first pandemic-safe puppy park together! When I'm sad, he makes me happy. When I'm sick, he makes me feel better. When I'm feeling alone or unloved, he reminds me that he loves me. He's been my partner in crime since the first day of the pandemic. I can't imagine a life without him. When I think back to how much time he and I have spent together during this crazy year, it makes me laugh and cry at the same time.  I've never met another dog like him. He's a real stand-up guy, and more than anything else, he makes my life better. He's always there for me when I need him! Covid was an unexpected arrival in my life. I wasn't looking for a dog, and I certainly wasn't in a position to get one at that time. But once he entered the picture, there was no going back. Now, I'm loving his company and am totally satisfied with his place in my household. He's an amazing dog and knows no other home, and his constant companionship has enriched all facets of my life. I'm more than happy to have him around, as anyone who knows him would attest to. And I feel like my story illustrates that not everyone has to have multiple children to feel fulfilled; some people just need to find the right pet! This is Covid. I have many photos of him on my phone to remind me to take breaks from work and spend quality time with my dog. It stimulates my creativity because it reminds me that I need to relax every once in a while. There you have it. My best friend, Covid, and why he's awesome. He can be a pain in the butt sometimes but I wouldn't trade him for the world. That’s how much I love him. I hope this blog post has given you a better idea of the doggie in my life and the time that I spend with him. All photos including the lead image are mine. Copyright, 2022 @frdchckn. Pilipinas para sa Pilipino: Araw ng Kagitingan The Philippines is home to an incredibly rich and diverse culture with a deep history. It has a long history of courage and resistance, but that resilience is especially apparent on the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan) . And today, April 9, marks a day of bravery and dedication of Filipino and American troops during the World War 2 here in our country, the Philippines. Araw ng Kagitingan (The Day of Valor) is one of the most important public holidays in the Philippines, and commemorates the fall of Bataan in 1942. The Japanese occupation was brutal and resulted in millions of deaths, and by March 1942, the United States military forces were forced to surrender their position at Bataan. The Japanese army then took all 75,000 U.S. and Filipino soldiers as prisoners of war. They were forced to make an arduous journey over what came to be known as the "Bataan Death March," which was a 60-mile journey that passed through harsh terrain, with no food or water provided along the way. An estimated 5,000 soldiers died on this march due to starvation or execution by their captors, while some 10,000 more died as POWs in captivity. The name “Day of Valor” comes from the Filipino word “kagitingan,” which means “bravery” or “valor” in English. During the holiday each year, my fellow countrymen hold rallies throughout the country to commemorate the lives lost during the march and celebrate our country’s freedom. The history of this day is quite long, but here are some important dates: **1942 – April 9:** Japan begins invading Luzon **1942 – April 9:** Bataan falls to the Imperial Japanese Army **1942 – April 26**: General Edward King officially surrenders to the Imperial Japanese Army on Corregidor Island **1945 – March 3:** United States recaptures Corregidor Island from Japan World War II was a tough time for Filipinos, and the Japanese occupation of the Philippines was especially harrowing. Even though the Japanese were defeated in 1945, the memories of the occupation are still clear today. The Battle of Bataan was considered one of the worst defeats in U.S. military history, but it has been recognized as an incredibly brave defense by both U.S. and Filipino troops, who were greatly outnumbered and outgunned by the Japanese forces occupying the islands during World War II. Araw ng Kagitingan is a day to honor these brave soldiers, as well as all those who died during World War II in an effort to defend freedom and democracy. It is a day that recognizes all those who have fought for their country throughout history. And it is a day that reminds us of our shared humanity—and our willingness to fight for others as well as ourselves. In the days leading up to Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor, we remember the fallen heroes of the Philippines and recall the courage of the Filipino people. While I have presented a description of the history of Araw ng Kagitingan and how it is celebrated, I will leave you with a quote to consider: **“If you are lucky enough to have lived in peace, do not boast of it as though you were brave, for peace means nothing but having a large caliber gun around.”** Looking back at the battle of Bataan, it's clear how difficult a fight it must have been. To see this holiday through the eyes of a Filipino—or a Filipino-American—imagine your country being under attack by an army that was once your ally. Imagine watching as they overpower your defenses, and being forced to surrender. Now imagine being taken captive and forced to march for days through thick jungles, carrying only what you can carry in one hand. Imagine the heat, the humidity, and the hunger gnawing at your stomach. That's what happened in World War II. The courage and bravery of the Filipino and American people, and their ability to survive under such terrifying circumstances, speaks to their fortitude and spirit. That same spirit is what has helped them to build a nation that can stand on its own two feet, something that we admire greatly. The story of Araw ng Kagitingan has become not just a historical narrative but also a part of the Filipino psyche and identity. This day also indicates that the Philippines is a nation which won't fear or surrender to oppression or tyranny, and will always fight for their freedom and independence. The Filipino people were fighting for their country, but they also had a lot at stake: they were fighting for democracy, freedom, sovereignty—and even independence. By remembering this traumatic event, we remind ourselves that freedom is never free—and we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for it. *Lead image from Spot PH* Copyright, @frdchckn 2022. Wanna Live Longer and Happier? Part 1: The 8 Life Rules to Live By Date: April 8, 2022. Friday. @frdchckn How are you doing today, everybody? I hope you're all having a good day. For this article, I will be sharing with you the first part of my first new series entitled "Wanna Live Longer and Happier?" Even though we have known each other for a little while now, when I think of you guys, I always find myself thinking "How can I make your life better?" I've been working part-time on this article series for a while, and today I'm finally ready to share with you the first part of the series. I have been working on it for a long time, but I have only just recently finished it. So today I will be sharing with you the first part of my first new series called "The 8 Life Rules to Live By." Nobody is perfect. Everyone experiences ups and downs in life, but it's the big picture that matters. That's how things operate in this world.  At some point in our lives, we all crave for the guidance and wisdom of those who came before us. It's something that shakes us into reality, and at the same time ignites a spark of motivation and passion to push our boundaries forwards. Some people say that life is a marathon. Others say it's a series of sprints—you run as fast as you can for as long as you can, and then you stop to catch your breath. I don't really care which theory you believe to, because either way, the important thing is this: You have to breathe. When we focus on the moments of greatness and forget the times we've failed, our attitude toward life changes. We end up better people and with a greater appreciation for life, which by default makes us happier. Even the most successful people have experienced their share of struggles and sorrow. The difference between those who make it and those who don’t is that those who make it learn from their mistakes, move on, and improve themselves while they still can.  So if you're feeling fed up, here are eight rules which have served me well, and have the potential to serve you well, too: **1. Transform all negativity into a positive aura.** Seek out the company of positive people who believe in living life to the fullest and making the most of every situation, no matter how difficult it may seem. If you surround yourself with negative people, your mindset will be negative as well. That is why it is so important to avoid negativity and surround yourself with positive people instead! Always choose the better side of life. **2. Don't compare yours to other people's lives.** Everyone is on a different journey and you have no idea what their journey is all about.  Focus on doing YOUR best and don't worry about what everyone else is doing or saying. The sun and the moon are incomparable; they both shine when it is their time. **3. Stop overthinking things.** One of the biggest barriers to happiness is overthinking. It seems weird that a person can get stuck in their own head—but it happens. And one of the best ways to be happy is just stop overthinking everything. Let's be honest: the more you think about it, the more frustrated and unhappy you will become. I'm not saying to ignore it—I'm just saying to not let it consume you. It's fine if you don't have all the answers. They'll come to you when you least expect it. **4. Time heals almost everything; give it time.** It might take a while, but eventually it will heal. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try other things to help yourself feel better; just don't forget that time could very well be the best medicine. Don't rush anything, even if you're upset or frustrated, because no one's in a hurry and we all have forever, so there's no need to rush anything. **5. Except for you, no one has control over your happiness.** It starts within you. You deserve to be happy right now—and if you're waiting for someone else to make a decision or take an action that will make that happen, you are wasting your time and energy. Stop giving people the power to control your smile, emotions, and feelings. Rather, strive to be the best version of yourself. **6. Put a broad smile on your face.** Did you know that the first thing people notice about you is your smile? It's true—it tells the world so many things about who you are and what you're feeling.  And did you know that it's contagious, which means that when you smile at someone else, they'll probably smile back? So smile! You've got so much to feel good about, and so much of it to share with other people. You never know: your smile might just be the key that brings someone out of their dark place today. **7. Make peace with the events of your past.** Why are there so many people who are unhappy with their lives? Because they're always fighting with their past. They condemn, despise, and blame themselves. You have to be kind and gentle with yourself when you're dealing with difficult things from the past that maybe you can't change or even fully understand. **8. Always be kind.** No matter what happens, no matter how much you want to scream and shout, or just shut down and curl up in a ball—always, always try to be kind. Life is so short and remember that everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. You have the power to make people feel good. Be considerate and lend you helping hand when others need it. After thinking a lot about my life in general, I've arrived at these eight rules of life that we should all live by if we want to live a good and fulfilling life. These rules govern everything in my life. Not everyone may agree with these rules or my perspective. You don’t need to listen to what I have to say. In fact, you're not even obligated to read them. It's your life, after all. But if you do, please try to follow them (I know they may seem impossible at times) because it's something we should consider as we journey through life. I have no intention to change your life or instruct you on how to live it. All I ask is that you give these rules a chance and see how much better your life could be if you did. That's all for the first part of my series! There's more to come! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Thank you and keep safe always! *Lead image edited in canva* Previous articles: Spiderman in Us https://read.cash/@frdchckn/spiderman-in-us-6227b7c5 When is it okay to lie? https://read.cash/@frdchckn/when-is-it-okay-to-lie-6d16dd97 The Grand Solemnity Of Our Parish https://read.cash/@frdchckn/the-grand-solemnity-of-our-parish-0ed3255c Life On Animal Planet https://read.cash/@frdchckn/life-on-animal-planet-4b0d4345 A Letter From My 70-Year Old Self https://read.cash/@frdchckn/a-letter-from-my-70-year-old-self-715eef50 Copyright, 2022 @frdchckn. Spiderman in Us Date: 2022, April 7. Thursday. @frdchckn Hello there, fellow readcashers! How is your day going? I hope everything is going well for you. As for me, we just finished a 3-hour accounting class, which was kind exhausting. And I just got finished eating my dinner. Nonetheless, I'd want to share this article with you in order for us to ponder some thoughts and for me to unwind a little. I hope you'll find it entertaining or at the very least worthwhile of your time! I just want to ask you something--Who’s your favorite fictional superhero? Who among them interest you more? If I were asked about these questions, I would answer Spiderman right away. Yes, Spiderman is one of those fictional characters that never ceases to amaze me with his intelligence and power. I have always wondered how a man with such great power could use it for good and not for evil.  As a kid, I witnessed several super-hero movies but none was as inspiring as this particular character. Everyone knows who Spiderman is. Am I right? He’s very popular right now. Even if you have never read a single comic or watched a movie, you would know that the character of Spiderman has had the greatest impact on our lives, maybe greater than anyone else. If you have been a fan ever, you will relate to this character. But if you are new to the world of Spiderman, then no need to worry as I have some fun facts about the Spiderman for you. Spiderman is one of the most famous superheroes Marvel has ever created. He has been the desperate hope for New York City's weaklings for more than half a century, protecting them from danger and fighting evil. In short, he's a real hero. And don't be surprised if some of his charms rub off on you too. Spiderman was an ordinary teenager named Peter Parker. He is an intelligent student, witty teenager and quick-witted superhero who has always done what people needed him to do. Peter grew up in New York City with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. His parents died when he was a baby so his aunt and uncle raised him as their own son. When Peter was young, he was bitten by a radioactive spider that gave him many special abilities such as super strength, agility, stamina, reflexes, speed and the ability to cling to walls like a spider. Also, it gave him the ability to shoot web out of his wrists. He used this power to fight crime in the city of New York as Spiderman. Well, I don't know about you, but for me, Spiderman had a huge impact on my life. Whether it's the comics or the movies, Spiderman is always there when we need him. When I was a kid, I used to pretend that I was Spiderman. And that got me through some of the worst times in my life. I still do it today! He inspired me to be the best versions of myself! Spiderman has been an important character in many of our lives because he shows us that it's possible to be both a hero and a human being. In fact, it's the very fact that he is human—and flawed—that makes him such a great superhero. He struggles to pay his rent, he can sometimes be grumpy or rude, he has trouble keeping up with all of his commitments. We see ourselves in him, even though we don't have any superpowers. Spiderman is a hero for those who need someone to look up to and to be inspired by. He is a superhero who shows us that anyone can be extraordinary, even if you’re just an ordinary high school kid. He taught us right from wrong, but also when it's okay to mess up and make mistakes. He reminded us that sometimes you have to be brave when you're scared, and that if you get in a fight, you should try to talk things out first. In the comic books, Spiderman famously said **“With great power comes great responsibility.”** This quote has had a profound impact on my life. As I grew up, I faced different challenges and conflicts in my life. These conflicts include the challenge of achieving my career goal and maintaining my relationships with my family and friends. Although these conflicts were difficult to overcome, I learned that when you are faced with certain obstacles, you must take control and face it head on. The saying is applicable not just to the superhero who can climb walls and shoot webs out of his wrist but to all of us. We all have powers. We all have the ability to make the world better or worse. Our choice is whether we will use our powers for good or for evil. Spider-man reminded us that even if we do not have superpowers, it does not mean we cannot make a difference in the world. Spiderman teaches us about responsibility, about doing the right thing, about putting others before yourself. He inspires us to be better people, to think more of ourselves, and not to settle for less than we deserve. He reminds us that our actions have consequences and that sometimes we must make sacrifices in order to achieve our goals. Spiderman has always been one of my favorite superheroes because he represents everything good in this world: he stands up for what he believes in, even when it means going against everything else around him; he never gives up hope no matter how many times his friends or loved ones tell him otherwise; and he always finds a way through any obstacle or situation that comes his. And while these are all great qualities that we can all aspire to have ourselves one day. To end my article, I would like to ask you this question. What's the meaning of Spiderman in our life? I hope you have your own version of it in your mind, because every person is his own universe. But one thing is for sure, it led the children, and even adults, to be brave and bold. Spiderman has all of these meanings. Our life is not limited to what we always think. Spiderman is more than just a hero. He's an inspiration to us all and we should never forget that! That's all for today! When is it okay to lie? 2022, April 6. Wednesday frdchckn Hello everyone! How are you doing today? Have you ever experience lying to your friends, to your family and to yourself? If you answer yes, then it’s alright. Everybody lies anyway.  On some level, we all do it.  But have you ever asked yourself why? Philosophers have been asking that question for centuries. And the answers they've come up with might surprise you. It is human nature to lie, to avoid the truth and sometimes just to get things out of the way. Ever feel like lying gets you into trouble more often than not? That's because it probably does. For instance, if you tell your mom that you've never tried cigarettes even though you have, then she starts going around and telling people about how proud she is of her upstanding child who has such good values… and then someone calls her out on it because they know you smoke, well… that's a big problem! Not only are you going to get in trouble with your mom, but your friends will probably make fun of you for being a liar. So what do we learn from this? That sometimes telling the truth can get you in trouble? Yeah, but not always, right? So how do you know when it's OK to lie, and when it's not OK? The reason for the lie is what matters. If your reason for lying is less about yourself and more about protecting someone else, that's a better reason to lie than something that benefits you. And there are plenty of reasons to tell little white lies: to protect someone else’s feelings, to keep the peace, or because people simply want to believe something that isn't true. In these cases, it’s okay—even expected—to bend the truth. The definition of lying is when you intentionally try to mislead someone else. You're basically saying "This isn't true, but I want you to believe that it is." This means that if you've been duped into thinking something that isn't true, but then repeat it falsely because you believed it yourself once.  When it comes to lying, most people seem to fall into two categories: those who believe that lying is always wrong and those who think that lying is not only permissible but sometimes even necessary. While both sides make a strong argument, the truth lies somewhere in between. However, that doesn't mean that every time someone says something that may or may not be true, they're lying. If a person is wrong—not intentionally trying to fool anyone—then they're not lying, they're just wrong. And if someone tells their boss they're sick so they can play hooky from work, that's a lie because it benefits them. So if your lie has a good reason behind it, whether knowingly or unknowingly, then it's probably OK. Some philosophers argue that occasionally telling white lies can help us get through the day with a lot less unnecessary strife, and that it's almost impossible to go about our daily lives without ever telling little fibs. We all lie. It is part of being human, and it's something we've been doing since our species first evolved. But is lying morally wrong? While the act of lying itself might not be directly morally wrong, the consequences of lying can often be. While you may have good intentions in telling little white lies, it's important to keep in mind that your lies could have unintended consequences for others. For example, if you tell a friend that you can't go out with them because you're sick when you're really just tired, your friend might end up going out alone instead of spending time with their other friends—which can impact their social well-being. So, in a situation where the consequences of telling the truth would be far more detrimental than telling a white lie, then telling a white lie is probably okay. But if the consequences of telling the truth are less bad than those of lying, then you should tell the truth—even if it's hard or makes you feel uncomfortable. So when is it okay to lie? It really depends on the context: be honest with yourself about what the potential consequences of your lie are and whether or not they are worth it. If there's no harm in telling a white lie (and remember, some people can tell when you're being dishonest), then by all means go ahead! However, this doesn't mean you can go around lying to everyone without any repercussions though. If you're going to tell a white lie, make sure to keep it small so that you don't get caught up in your own web of lies and make things worse for yourself down the road! You don't need to tell huge lies in order to be seen as successful or accomplished. In fact, if you're too outrageous, people might not believe you anyway, and you'll lose their trust. And secondly, only tell white lies occasionally (like when it's really necessary). Don't make a habit out of lying because that will eventually catch up with you and cause problems! If people know they can trust what comes out of your mouth then they'll more likely want to hang out with you—so try not to lie too often! Lead image edited in Canva Copyright 2022 frdchckn. The Grand Solemnity Of Our Parish It's the most wonderful time of the year. Yes, it's that time of year when we celebrate the feast day of St. Vincent Ferrer with a solemn proclamation of our parish as an archdiocesan shrine. A glorious day, indeed! Every year, our town celebrates the feast of St. Vincent Ferrer and but it was only this year that we celebrate the solemn proclamation of our parish as archdiocesan shrine. The whole town is filled with joy as we celebrate this momentous occasion. People from all over the country came to join us in our festivities. It was such a beautiful day—the sun was shining brightly and the air was cool, but not cold.  It's a full day of activities. The celebration begins with the 1st mass at 6:00 am followed by the 2nd mass at 7:30 am. Afterwards, there was a concelebrated solemn mass, presided over by Fr. Felicisimo A. Ferrer, our Parish Priest, at 9:00am. After the mass, there was a motorcade procession around the town where all people from different places participates. The procession includes some people carrying candles and walking around the town where then they will proceed to go back to church for another mass. **The Life of St. Vincent Ferrer** St. Vincent Ferrer was a Dominican friar who was born in Valencia, Spain in the year 1350. As a child, St. Vincent had a vision of angels proclaiming him a savior of souls and an apostle of the end times. Because of this vision, he decided that he must dedicate himself to preaching repentance so that people could be saved from sin and eternal damnation. In his early years he studied to be a lawyer because his father wanted him to be one. However, he soon turned to religious life and joined the Order of Preachers (Dominicans). He was sent to various places in Europe and became well-known for his preaching. During his time many countries were divided by religious conflicts and two rival popes claimed leadership over the Catholic Church. This division is known as the Great Schism of the Western Church. St. Vincent travelled to France to preach and reconcile the people during this time of conflict. St. Vincent died on April 5, 1419 while on his way back to Spain. It is said that his body remains incorruptible at his tomb in Vannes, France. His feast day is celebrated on April 5th. It was a day I will never forget because of so many things happened on today. First, we were able to honor the legacy of St. Vincent Ferrer who was considered one of the greatest evangelizers in history; second, our parish has been proclaimed as an archdiocesan shrine by the church leaders; third, many people are here to witness everything that happened today. Here are some photos during the mass and celebration (all were taken from the facebook page): I want to take a moment to thank everyone who made this possible. First, Fr. Felicisimo Ferrer who is always there for us when we need him and has truly transformed our parish into a place where people can come together and feel at home; secondly, all those who donated their time and money to help with this special day; thirdly, the Priests from different places for their powerful words about our community; and lastly, all of the people who were there. There's no way we could have celebrated any of this without their support! As we all know that each day is a blessing, but today was more than that because it's a gift not just for us but also for our patron Saint and also for our town especially to our Church. I really felt that I'm lucky enough because I am one of the chosen people who experienced this wonderful event even though it's just in front of me and my family but still, I consider myself blessed because of the joy that I felt within me after witnessing everything that happened there. This celebration made me more aware of how blessed we are to have these saints in heaven who are always taking care of us here on earth and especially in heaven, it really shows how blessed we are and how lucky we are because not everyone gets a chance like this one where we can see our heroes every day without them knowing about it. I think it's very important for everyone to be here at this time because we have proven that our devotion and faith towards God is very strong and genuine. As we all know, Saint Vincent Ferrer helps us in many ways so as a prayerful person I prayed to him that he will continue to help us not just financially or in other aspects but also spiritually because if we lost in faith then everything is gone. Many people came here today and it means a lot to us because they have seen how strong our faith is as a community. That's why I wanted to thank him for his blessings especially on this very special occasion. ***St. Vincent Ferrer, pray for us all!*** Copyright, 2022 frdchckn.
