Blogging is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut, and you can't quite figure out what to write about or how to approach your topics.

What's your blogging style?

It's a question that we writers ask ourselves all the time, and now it's one you can answer with a fun personality quiz!

Seriously, it's amazing. It's time to learn a little bit more about your blog-writing skills! Are you an expert storyteller? Maybe SEO is your game. Or perhaps you're a casual blog-writer who loves to share helpful tips and advice with your readers. It’s now time to find out!

Are you a storyteller?

You're probably a storyteller if you most like to tell people what the next part of your day is going to be like, or what happened to you yesterday. This style of blogging is about telling a story through your blog. It's about taking your readers on an adventure—whether it's one that happened in real life, or one that's entirely fictional. Your readers feel like they can put themselves in your shoes or have an "Aha!" moment, and that makes them like you, trust you, and want to keep coming back for more

Do you encourage engagement?

Image from wikiHow

When it comes to blogging, it's all about the engagement. You know how every now and then a post will go viral because thousands of people are responding to it? If people aren't talking about the content they just read, there's no reason for them to come back. Bloggers who encourage engagement use calls to action in their posts, ask questions at the end of their work, and can connect with their readers on an emotional level—all of which lead to more conversation and more readership. You're probably an encourager if you enjoy writing in short-form and asking lots of questions that get people talking.

Do you enjoy writing in both long and short form?

If so, you might be a good writer! One day you're sharing a deeply personal story about your life with the world, and the next you're posting a list of 10 things that made you smile today. You don't like to be pinned down, and your writing style reflects that. You love expressing yourself through the written word, and you can usually do it well, no matter what the medium. If this sounds like you, you might be a versatile blogger.

Are you a master of SEO?

A blog that ranks high on Google is a blog people can find easily. And if your blog has ever been noticed or shared on social media, you already know how great it feels. If this is sounding familiar to you so far, then you may be an SEO blogger. You love putting together pieces that will help people find your site, and when they do—pow!—they're hooked. Take our quiz to see if we got it right!

Are your posts packed with information?

Informative posts are all about the information that readers crave. You could write a 1,000-word post and it would still be too short because you have so much knowledge and insight to share. You're always looking for ways to improve yourself and your blog, and sometimes you'll even take a break from writing to write about writing!

Do you like to keep your posts more on the casual side?

You're all about keeping things fun, lighthearted, and conversational. When people read your posts, they feel like they're hanging out with their best friend. Your posts are full of run-on sentences and exclamation marks that really help you connect with your readers. But you don't only write online—you also love writing in your journal!

Do your readers always leave comments because you ask questions in your posts?

You want to hear what other people think! You write blog posts that ask questions like "Which dachshund should I get?" or "How can I start a business?" Your readers enjoy giving their opinions and interacting with you, and you enjoy sharing their responses. Some of the comments even add so much value to your posts that you want to share them with more people by putting them on social media.

In Conclusion

Writing is the backbone of the internet's content world; it's how we communicate, how we learn, and how we build each other up. Even if you don't see yourself as an "author," you probably spend a lot of time writing. Maybe you write a new post for your blog every week, or maybe you comment on posts on other people's sites. Maybe you write emails, or text messages, or update your followers with new tweets every day. All of these things are forms of writing!

Some bloggers choose one style and stick with it for a long time, while others like to switch things up from post to post or even day to day. And there are plenty of bloggers who like to mix it up between different styles!

It's okay if you don't know what kind of blogger you are yet. You'll find out as soon as you figure out what kind of writer you are!

The truth is, there is no "right" blogging style. There's no correct way to be a blogger, just as there's no one correct way to be a human being. Blogs are a personal choice, and the best you can do is find one that makes you happy and keeps you writing. And if that ever changes, then you should feel entirely free to try something new—the only thing stopping you will be yourself.

As you can see, different kinds of blogging styles lend themselves to different types of writing. Now it's up to you to find out which approach suits you best. Are you ready to find out what type of blogger you are?

I love this! I think it's so awesome that you've found your niche, and it's even better that you're so excited about it. Storytelling is so important, especially in the world of content creation. I can see how easy it comes to you, and I think that's such a great trait to have. As a writer, it's something I want to get better at.

I'm curious—how do you approach storytelling? Is there anything you do before you start that helps you get into the right mindset? Do you start with just a few words, or do you outline your whole story ahead of time?

I'd love to pick your brain on this, as I'm sure others would too!

Hmm, I got a question for you what is your style?

Well, yesterday, I discovered your profile and reading your first article I felt connected, And I read 2-3 more of your articles, it was like the things I had in mind, you were writing about them. Even though I am not sure what this writing style is called but I like to write about things like that as well, but sometimes, I am not sure what to search for finding topics like this, so I just discuss what I think is useful. I am yet too far to discover my style, till then I think I will have to play "whatever-comes-in-my-mind" game. Nice article, I really appreciate you writing about these things.

Thank you so much for reading my articles and for this comment. I'm glad you felt connected to me and my content. I love hearing from my readers, and I’m always excited to connect with someone new.

To answer your question, I think I am still in the phase of discovering my writing style. I think finding your style is definitely something that takes time, and it's even more difficult to do when you're first starting out as a writer I've tried being a storyteller and an encourager. I've tried a lot of different approaches: becoming a storyteller, writing in a more encouraging tone, trying to write both informatively and casually at the same time. I also like to write about whatever comes into my mind, as long as it's something that interests me or something I've learned from. My style is definitely still evolving, but what I try to do is just write in the way that comes naturally for me. I’m still taking the time to find out. I think it's important to be open to new ideas and keep searching for what works—both with writing and in general.

One thing that helps me stay focused when I'm thinking about ideas is to read other articles about things I'm interested in (they don't have to be related to the topic at all) and then make connections between that content and my own experiences. Sometimes you'll get stuck though—but if you're passionate about it, you can probably find a way to relate it back to your life and your writing style. If you're having a hard time coming up with good article topics, maybe start by keeping track of your thoughts throughout the day so that you can go back later and see if there's anything you want to write about.

I hope this helps! And thank you again for stopping by.

Thank you so much for these suggestions. And yeah I usually do the same( reading others articles, that maybe irrelevant of my topic) and most of the times it works for me, but sometimes I get stuck. But now I see that (as you shared the same technique) I am somewhat on the right track, it's just that I need a headstart to start writing. Because "starting" is always challenging.

Speaking of story telling, I am also interested in doing that ( means daily blog or personal whatever we call it) but whenever I try to write an article like that. I usually end up deciding what to write.

By the way, Thanks again for such a detailed comment. You know what usually whenever I comment on someone's article I end it by apologizing them for my long comments, but now I see that I am pretty normal (lol). Stay happy, Stay blessed

I'm so glad I could help! I think we're all in the same boat, just trying to help each other, and you've been a big help yourself with your comment.

I love that you apologize for long comments at the end of your comments! Sometimes I wish we didn't have to apologize for taking up space in the world, especially when we're bringing kindness and positivity into it.
