In addition to high taxes, crazy real estate prices and the invasion of the homeless, California has been besieged by apocalyptic forest fires in recent years. Climate changes? Certainly, but also human stupidity, because eucalyptus trees were planted en masse all over this American state on the west coast in the 1970s, whose oils emit flammable vapors when heated.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the fire robots in America were first hired by the service from Los Angeles, at a price of 278,000 dollars. In exchange for this amount, they bought a vehicle that seemed to fly out of a C&C game. The Thermite RS3 weighs almost 600 kilos (573 to be more precise) and is able to expel about 9,400 liters of water from the nozzle in just one minute at an angle of up to 70 degrees. The robot is controlled remotely and the range is limited by a hose length of 90 meters. It is powered by a 36-horsepower diesel engine with a top speed of 13 km / h. In order to overcome obstacles on the road, the Thermite RS3 is equipped with a dispenser, and it also has a winch with which it can pull 1,600 kilograms of cargo. The fact that it looks like a tank in the video is not accidental. The company that manufactures it, Howe & Howe Technologies, is currently engaged in the production of this type of vehicle, including the electric Ripsaw M5.
