Writing as an hobby is fair. But what if you can get paid for it? That's even better isn't it? You have to plan your writing in such a way that you earn something in return for the hard work you do.

Now if you want to write on daily basis you can't just write whatever comes up in your mind. After some time you need a niche to write every day and write longer content.

This requires you to focus on niche. My niche is - personal finance and the other writing, freelance related topics. These topics help me writing longer content. They are also good optics for writing advice based content.

So in order to write for long term you need a niche. Now that we established the basics, let's find out why niche matters when it comes to writing for money.

Niche Writing Makes you Knowledgeable on Topic

Imagine you write 365 articles in a year. Say one article a day. And that routine would help you become expert. Why? Because you would build topics one after another which would cover a lot of internal topics of any niche.

When you write this much content, you end up building the library of content in any platform, be it read.cash or hive. You end up making content which would help you flx your writing muscles.

Something like this is a good foundation for anyone who wish to build on the top of the platforms where niche writing can be a good way to think outside your typical casual writing. So think of this as a focused content writing.

Niche Writing Helps build Portfolio

When you write a lot of content on any topic, you start to hold some power over the niche. This brings the focus in your portfolio. And this in turn makes writing consistently even easier long term.

Portfolio requires you to have dedicated content for some niche. Which helps anyone who wish to hire you to look at. Like say 10 articles a day written for 5 year could build your authority on any topic or niche.

When you are planning for getting the job from the fiverr, odesk etc. You can make use of the method like this for building your portfolio. I am trying this method as it helps with my portfolio.

Niche Writing can earn You Freelance Income

Let's say you write on personal finance, crypto etc. You try finding the jobs with these niche on forums, boards and the marketplaces where the content writers are required. You can use the niche writing for applying to those jobs.

You can initially try for the low cost jobs for starters. Make sure to work for atleast 5 people like this. And once you have enough people in the pipeline, then you can go ahead and apply for the jobs in such places.

Freelance income initially is low but as the time goes on, you will find it increasing. And it can be a good option for pushing for sustainable income from such type of the work. I have been working pretty heavily on such stage for now.

Niche Writing brings Stability

You write on topic specific to your focus. You build portfolio. You start applying for the jobs. You get paid income for the work you do. What does this all bring? This will lead to the financial stability in your life.

When you consistently earn income out of your writing. That money can be invested and that brings up stability. Which is more or less both mental and the financial stability. It would take time but it can be built.

So when you are planning for some stability both financially and mentally. You should consider this method and this can make things lot easier for you in general. So try niche writing and see if that works for you.

I feel writing on niche topic and also trying to make the niche content for the portfolio and then doing the freelance work has it's benefit and loss. But it can earn you money if you are consistent.
