Having some nice lunch with my family and my brother's family today. After hanging out at the park, we went to a nearby local hawker center for lunch today.
I ordered some 'Wantan Noodles'. This KL style dry noodle dish is very popular and you can find it almost at any Chinese hawker center.
It's egg noodles that is mixed with a mixture of dark soy sauce and light soy sauce. It is served with some slices of 'Char Siu' which is roasted sweet glazed pork as well as 'wantan'.
This one I ordered today had 2 types of wantan which is a soup wantan and a fried wantan version.
The soup wantan is soft and savory with the soup that has spring onions. The fried one is basically the same thing but instead of being boiled in the soup, it is deep fried till golden brown. It was crispy and delicious with the mince pork filling inside.
The dish also comes with a side condiment of pickled green chilies in light soy sauce which gives each bite a nice sour note to the hearty noodle dish.
All of this for only RM8 (2 USD). Really makes a difference when you earn in USD and spend in ringgit.
The dishes are all good! Well I haven't tried this since we don't have that in my place, but I would love to try it soon
