Many of us face the problem of flatulence, which is often caused by certain foods, and it is not usually a worrying condition, but if the symptoms of bloating persist for a long time, you should consult a doctor.

The NHS says persistent cases of bloating may be caused by a digestive problem or problems with your diet.

Wheat or gluten and dairy products are among the most common foods that cause bloating problems, so some changes in diet can help treat annoying bloating.

Health experts say stress can also cause digestive problems and lead to gas and bloating.

To get rid of bloating, simple methods can be adopted, including avoiding chewing gum, increasing fiber intake, and taking a warm bath.

When we chew gum, we swallow a lot of air with it, and this air passes into our stomach, making us feel bloated.

Therefore, it is necessary to avoid chewing gum when feeling flatulence.

Experts point out that "warm baths can reduce stress levels and lower the heart rate, giving the body a chance to refocus its energy on proper digestion and de-bloating."

Sometimes constipation can cause bloating. The NHS says that if you do become constipated, take steps to prevent it by adding more fiber to your diet, drinking plenty of fluids and exercising regularly.

Without fluids, fiber can't do its job and you can become constipated. The agency stresses: "It is important to continue to drink fluids, especially water. It encourages the passage of waste through the digestive system and helps soften the stool."

"Even a brisk walk for 20 to 30 minutes four times a week can improve bowel function," the agency continued.

You should also be aware of "gut triggers" as some people find that certain foods cause problems, among them acidic foods, such as tomatoes, citrus fruits, salad dressings and soft drinks, which can cause heartburn.

There are also cases where you should visit a doctor, if the symptoms of bloating persist for a long time.

In fact, bloating can be normal, but in some cases, it may be a sign of a more serious condition, from food intolerance and celiac disease to irritable bowel syndrome and ovarian cancer.

There are also some nutritional supplements that can be taken to reduce bloating. Which includes magnesium and probiotics, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The clinic says magnesium supplements can help neutralize stomach acid and relax the intestinal muscles.

"Magnesium has a natural laxative effect, which can be helpful from time to time," she says. Also, probiotics can help supplement or rebalance your gut bacteria.
