What is Curiosity?

Everything begins into person’s ***mind***. The way he acts, way he decides, way he understands, way he perceives, and also the way he become curious with everything that surrounds him. We all have differences on looking into something and understanding the deeper meaning within. We tend to get curious with things we think weird, interesting, or even just freaks us out. What is curiosity? It is the desire to know or learn something about one particular idea or matter.

Nowadays, people’s perspective depends on their own ***understanding*** and kind of ***mindset***. During these days, there are a lot of things, discoveries, and factors that trigger someone’s curiosity. The world has too much to offer, and the technological advancement added a factor too. People usually scrolls up and down to social media platforms in which they sometimes run into something that will make them curious.

**What are the factors that makes a person curious?** This depends to the way of thinking of a person. One factor is their *****interests*****. Curiosity level of a person is high specially when they have interest to a certain idea or thought. Second factor is the things that makes them *****anxious*****. Since we are in a pandemic right now, people’s anxiety is getting worse that triggers their curiosity to what is happening and what are the latest updates or news in the said matter. Another factor is the *****trends*****. We get to be curious to the things that are trending in social medias or in our surroundings. Like for example is the trending dance craze in Tiktok, trending music video or vlog in Youtube, or even a trending scandal or issue circulating the social media will definitely trigger someone’s curiosity. Lastly, if something seemed weird in a person’s view. Again, it depends on someone’s way of thinking. There are moments that we accidentally bumped to someone and if they look weird, we get curious about their personality. There are also some instances that we saw *****something off***** and suddenly find ourselves thinking about it and eager to find answers. The feeling of being curious might be a little complex but this makes life more interesting – *by learning new things and having the desire and eagerness to acquire information and ideas.*

On the other hand, there is this popular saying, “*curiosity kills*”. Does it? Again, it depends to how a person act upon their curiosity. Some are taking it and acting negatively. Some people’s curiosity leads them to a harmful and dangerous situation whenever they take action with their curiosity in a not ideal experiment, invading other’s privacy, and sometimes other become stalkers. These are the circumstances led by handling curiosity in a bad way.

Feeling curious is not a sin. Being curious to something is a good thing because it does justify that someone’s thinking rationally. But, always apply sensitivity and discipline to the decision you make out of your curiosity. Always look onto the broader and idealistic side of the things you are curious to, and not being held by its negative impact to you. Being curious means having the eagerness to know something and be informed by a certain matter. Choose the things you got curious with. —————————— ***This serves also as my entry to the sponsorship of*** @Macronald***.
