Before anything else, let me just clarify that I'm not broken-hearted. I'm already done with that phase, and I'm on the right track now.
This article, however, is inspired by one of my favorite songs of Taylor Swift, who is known for her breakup songs. But before we jump into my latest Taylor's song, let me share with you some of my ultimate favorites.
These songs are really effective if you're still in the phase where you want to cry and cry just to get over with the person who used to love you. Well, whether you're broken-hearted or not, here is the list of songs that you might want to listen to or need in the future.
Nina - Someday
To all the non-Filipino out there who happens to read this article, I highly recommend you to listen to this song. Of course, if you're happily in love then you probably won't feel the song just yet; but trust me, when you're broken-hearted, you'll be bursting into tears with this song.
Miley Cyrus - Goodbye
I first listened to this song way, way back ago when I got broken-hearted with my ex. That was more than a decade ago. I tortured myself with this song and cried nonstop until I had no more tears to shed. By the way, I am a fan of Miley Cyrus since the Hannah Montana days, especially because she's also an animal lover.
Katy Perry - Thinking Of You
Katy Perry has been one of my favorite singers of all time. Her songs, especially this one and The One That Got Away, are some of my favorites to listen to. Whenever I listened to this song, it reminded me of someone that I used to love big time.
Katy Perry - The One That Got Away
Another Katy Perry song that I super-duper love! I can listen to this song in hours and still feels like it's my first time to hear it. Plus, the music video is also epic that you'd be in tears if it's your first time to watch it.
Taylor Swift - Mr. Perfectly Fine
I'm a big fan of Taylor Swift, and I love all her songs. But out of her many breakup songs, this one is my super-duper favorite! It was perfect timing because when this song was released, I was kinda broken.
Well, the last guy I fell in love with suddenly vanished. I thought he just needed some space so I gave him that, but he stopped communicating. The sad part was I found out that he'd talk to some common friends but not me. Oh well, it always happens to me so no big deal.
So this song, when I first heard it, I was like, "Damn, this is actually my story!" I cried when I first listened to it coz it struck me big time. Now, I just listen to this because I love it and not because I was broken.
Bonus songs
Sad Movies (Always Make Me Cry)
One of my all-time favorites. I even made this a cover that almost reached 500,000 viewers. Yay! Every time I listen to this song, it feels like I'm watching a super heartbreaking movie. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Don't Cry, Joni
It's one of the classics that still gives me that chills. When I was probably around 13, I would cry over this song coz it was just so sad to handle.
FU
I don't think Miley got an official music video for this song coz I've tried searching but there's none. Anyway, this song is great for those who realized that the person who was once their world was just cheating on you and you're finally done with all his/her crap.
Closing thoughts
I don't know about you but whenever I get broken-hearted, I would listen to songs like these to give me better background music when I'm in the mood to be emotional. The more heartbreaking it is, the better.
Breakup songs give me more reasons to cry until I'm emotionally exhausted and no more tears to shed, which is perfect to get over the emotions you're currently having.
So do you also listen to songs like this when you're broken-hearted? What's your most favorite on this list? Or do you have any recommended breakup songs for me? If yes, let me know in the comment section.
Yung all too well sakit non huhuhu. Tas yung only reminds me of you pag tinutugtog ko yon sya lagi naaalala ko :((
