Moon Over the Lake
Silence.
Alone in silence.
The wind blows, running with the foam of the waves.
There is a moon above the lake, smiling at the night.
Sad. Alone looking at the moon over the lake. A symphony of fallen leaves, beautifully swayed by the hum of love. I miss you, miss you a thousand times. I want to enjoy your smile. Like the moon smiling over the lake.
Martin, smiled to himself reading the poetry he typed in his android mobile whatsapp application. “Love, oh love. Why do you make me languish? Is tonight, he also misses me?". He whispered in his heart.
Martin lay on the foam mattress. Restless restless. His eyes didn't want to close, imagining the face of his lover Tina, painted on the ceiling of the boarding room where he lives rented monthly, he really hoped that Tina would call tonight because he had run out of internet credit packages. Never mind buying pulses, buying just a cigarette is no longer there. That's why he failed to send his poetry via WhatsApp to Tina who was studying for Real Work with some of her friends in one sub-district village, far from the district city centre.

Martin reached for the cellphone on the table, beside the bed where he was lying, imagining the face of his lover Tina. A moment later he played a video from the storage gallery, reminiscing about their good times when they crossed the Lake Toba ferry from Ajibata to Tomok on the island of Samosir. It seems clearly recorded in the video, with a sweet smile and long hair scattered in the strong wind, Tina's hands tightly hugged her waist and she hugged Tina's shoulders, on the ferry crossing Lake Toba which was sailing through the waves. Hendra, who recorded the video.
Watching the video over and over again until his eyes stung, he reminded him of Hendra, his classmate at the economics faculty of the University of North Sumatra. Since they both graduated a year ago, they have never met and communicated to give news. Not only Hendra, as well as other friends. There was an implied longing for all of his friends, then he turned the video to search the contact list to find out, are the contact numbers of friends from college were still stored?. While he was looking for it, suddenly his cell phone dial tone rang. He accepted the call, even though the number listed was not in the contact list.
Martin: "Hello, good evening". he said kindly. "Wait a minute, someone wants to say". said a woman's voice. Seconds later, Martin was surprised to hear a very familiar female voice, saying how are you and good night. It was Tina's voice, that woman's voice.
Martin: “ Tina, what are you doing there? ". Martin asked, gently.
Tina: " Grilled corn ". Tina replied, spoiled.
Martin: “Wow, great! ". Martin shouted quietly, as he got up from the bed and moved to sit on the chair near the bedroom window.
Martin: “When are you coming home? ". Continue, Martin asked.
Tina: " If it goes well, two more months ". Tina replied, sadly. Martin silently sighed and took a deep breath.
Tina: "Oh yes. I can't stay long. I'm using a friend's cellphone, it won't feel good with him later ". Tina said, about to cut off their long-distance conversation. Martin suddenly gasped.
Martin: "Wait, why don't you use your cellphone? ".
Tina: " I, ran out of credit. In the village where we work for real, there are no selling pulses. If we want to buy credit, we have to go to the sub-district city centre which is four kilometres from the village. Fortunately, the internet signal in this village is very good. You hear me talk? ". Tina asked, making sure.
Martin: "Listen, I'll send you credit later". said Martin.
Tina: " Good night, dear ". Said Tina softly spoiled and cutting off the conversation. Hearing Tina's affectionate words, Martin smiled with a flowery heart. They have been dating for two years, this is the first time Tina has spoken affectionate words to him. When his heart drifted to the word affection, he was shocked about his promise to send internet credit to Tina who was far away in the countryside. Oh My God. How could he be sending credit to Tina tonight, when she didn't have any money? His mind was in turmoil, but the promise had already been made.

Martin has not worked for a full month at a telecommunications company. Naturally, his finances faltered and to make ends meet in the city, he still received help from his parents who farmed oil palm in the small town of Kandis, Riau Province. About Tina, in the name of love, she must prove her promise tonight.
Martin got up from his seat, continued to close the bedroom window and then went to take the jacket hanging on the wall. When he was about to close the door to his room from the outside, he saw Uncle Yosi, the owner of the boarding house, sitting on the veranda of the main house accompanied by his three children who were growing up to be teenagers. He knew Uncle Yosi was friends with his father.
Uncle Yosi: “Where are you going, Martin? ". asked Uncle Yosi.
Martin: " I plan to go out, just a moment. Seeing that Uncle and Mother are here, I had to stop." Martin replied, coming over and joining the family.
Uncle Yosi: “Why? ".
Martin: "Help me, Uncle. Call, my father".
Uncle Yosi: “Out of credit, huh? ". Uncle Yosi said smiling.
Martin: "Yes, Uncle". Martin said, scratching his head when he saw Uncle Yosi take out his cellphone from his shirt pocket. Uncle Yosi's cell phone was heard calling, not long after that a voice answered from the other side. " Hello, good night. How are you friend? ". Martin recognized the voice was his father's voice.
Uncle Yosi: “Good news, my friend. Here, your son wants to talk". Uncle Yosi answered and immediately gave the cellphone in his hand to Martin. Martin quickly accepted the cellphone and kept it close to his ear.
Martin: "Good evening, Boss". Who's Martin?
His father: "Good evening too, commander". replied his father.
Martin: "Look, Boss. I haven't worked for a full month, payday in a week. Help me, Boss. Tonight I need money, if necessary in the form of a loan but without interest. One million rupiah only, Boss! ".
His father: "There are many stories that you should witness". Said his father singing the song Ebiet. G Ade.
Martin: "I'm serious, Boss! ".
His father: "For what. Must be tonight? ".
Martin: " Yes, Boss. Boss, can you imagine today's life without credit? Can you not, toke palm imagine that? Send it, Boss! ".
His father: "Ok, but you pay".
Martin: "Okay, Boss. Excellent! ". Martin nodded happily and heard his mother's voice on the other side asking his father. "Who are you talking to? ". His father answered. "Martin". Then his mother said. "Wait a minute, I want to talk."
His father: "Martin, your mother wants to talk she said".
Martin: "Boss, tell me the cellphone has been turned off". Martin smiled funny, but he still managed to hear his mother nagging. "Don't he call me, I don't answer. Don't know him yet! ". Martin laughed funny inside after ending the conversation, then returned Uncle Yosi's cellphone.
Martin: "Thank you, Uncle". He said softly.

Uncle Yosi, who had been watching and listening to Martin's conversation with his father, was surprised, he shook his head because they were talking like close friends, not like father and son. Not wanting to wait long, Martin went to get his motorbike which was parked in the car garage, but his steps were stopped when he heard Sandro's voice asking. “Brother, want to go to the ATM? I'm coming okay? ". He turned to see Uncle Yosi's youngest son Sandro.
Martin: "Come on! ". Take Martin. Sandro, get up quickly. Uncle and Aunt Yosi silently watched. "Brother, I'm taking pizza! ". Yosi shouted loudly to Martin and Sandro who were crossing the fence in the yard. Yosi is the eldest daughter of Uncle Yosi.
Evening, nine o'clock. Tina, who is far away in the countryside, smiles reading SMS and a series of WhatsApp messages coming in on her phone. Not only sending internet credit for one month's use, but Martin also sent a poem, "The moon over the lake", via WhatsApp to him.
Tina, touched by her heart, read the poem while contemplating the image of Martin's face. The night was sad when Tina replied to Martin's poem.
Quiet.
I miss.
Wanna be with you, baby.
Staring at the moon over the lake.
Tina sent the poem she had written in return, but Martin was fast asleep.
