The whole day yesterday I was thinking about what my article would be but thanks to our first GrabFood order, I had a topic to share about. However, it is the opposite today as I cannot think of anything to say. I wanted to continue with the Korean ice creams that I have tried but I have only tasted 5 after I have published my article. I do not know if it will be long enough so I will just have to wait to eat some more ice creams. Lately I have not eaten any ice creams as it was cold inside the store.

And today, I treated some of the staffs with Jollibee. I ordered through Grab because I wanted them to see how it looks like when a customer orders from Grab. There they saw that there was an attached receipt and another order receipt with Grab logo. I know that this was printed using a GrabMerchant device. I do not know if my sister-in-law have inquired about it through Grab but I know that she was asked to buy an android device that had a required software version. They actually bought an affordable android ohone which was an Infinix phone. From what I have heard, it only costs less than Php5,000 or around $100 below.

The Geab receipt and the merchant receipt.
We just printed out our own GrabFod order receipt. Looks the same but wr like the other on comapred to this one.

We did not received any Grab orders today but thankfully we had a lot of walk-ins. We had a total of 43 orders today. Based from last week's reports, this is the highest order because last Sunday I think it was around 30+. We even had the lowest order which was 11 in a day. The food cart only contributed around 10-15% of the total sales last week as it was the Korean grocery that had a lot of sales. And today, 85% was from the food cart. What we all wanted is that we would have 50% of the sales would be coming from the food cart and 50% from the grocery. That is why we are all hoping that applying the food cart business as a GrabFood merchant will bring in a lot of sales. This is just the second day and I think we really need to exert a lot of effort for campaign awareness that I have not discussed with the store'a supervisor. I do have some things in mind though I have not yet talked about it with my brother and sister-in-law. I am not sure if they are up for it since they are already boosting their posts on their Facebook page. I do not know how much they have spent on it and if they are also willing to spend some on marketing collaterals like tarpaulin and flyers.

I am used to this marketing collaterals when I once worked as a store marketing coordinator before. That time Facebook was just for posting photos and what is on your mind. LOL. But now Facebook and other social media platforms are really a big help when it comes to promoting a business. I even went to some subdivisions before to do mailbox inserts wherein I would insert some flyers into their mailbox. Then I also talked to some of the neighboring companies for functions and reservations. But now that I have to promote a Korean grocery and a food cart, I still have no idea how I am going to promote it. Additionally, I am also bot familiar with the place though I saw some subdivisions nearby. When I interviewed some of our customers, they told me that they did not know that there was a Korean grocery and a food cart in the area. I have already suggested before to my brother to provide a tricycle banner but they were only able to produce 10 so it really did not help with the awareness campaign. Another factor that I am looking at right now, if we are to install tarpaulins and banners during this year's election campaign period, our marketing collaterals might not be noticed by the people because of all the election campaign materials being hanged on the trees, vacant lots, posts and walls. I guess for now we can stick with boosting a Facebook post.

Aside from Facebook page, tarpaulin, banner and flyers, how do you think can we further promote our business? Our neighboring coffee shop did not do any marketing as it was promoted through word of mouth. We do not want to always depend on their customers and from the other restaurant because some of their guests are not from here. Some where from Metro Manila who drove all the way to thia province just to check out the minimalist coffee shop which has probably been the talk of most millenials. This will be another stress or challenge for me. LOL. I really have to increase our daily sales as well as the foot traffic. I guess I have to think about that tomorrow as I am already sleepy and my brain wants to rest.

If they are in an electoral campaign, you are right not to make those announcements, you would lose the material, time and money. Handing out flyers wouldn't be a good idea either, many people will think it's political and won't read it. I hope you get a quick way to reach the customer.

Parang once or twice a week ata nagpopost si Ate both Facebook and Instagram.

What's the name of your store nga sis? We have our food business too pero we opted to take a rest kasi I'm the cook and I've gotten busy na. What we did before is I always post order feedback, also try making IG account! I had a lot of customers from IG from different places na I thought di namin marreach. Pag may nagpost kasi na customer about your product and they tagged u or mentioned you, kumakalat din kaya good marketing strat. Pero depends pa rin sa target market nyo, if sa community lang, try as much as possible to interact with the people around your store.

Korean corndogs yung sa food cart. 😊 meron na both Facebook and Instagram account yung corndogs and grocery.
