Goals

I was very happy when I saw a positive response from my A million money article. 2 of which wanted to purchase a land and build and/or repair their houses and majority of them would save and invest the money. It is great to know that we all have similar goals. They say great minds think alike right?

This afternoon, I saw Mj's noisy post on noise.cash and she had listed down all her goals for this year 2021. She even added another project, Sinking Fund, for their neighborhood. I really admire her for setting goals not just for herself but also for the betterment of other people.

Have you also ever listed your goals? How many times? Where did you list it? Did you write it down or you just save it on your Notes app? Out of those that you have listed whether in a notebook, a piece of paper or your Notes app, how many have you accomplished so far? The goals that I have set for myself this year is to SAVEFOCUSon business and BE FIT. I know I have said in my article, Resolutions or goals that "Goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and should have a set time frame." My goals may not be as specific as how it is with Mj but I'll get into it one of these days. I do have already some specific goals in mind and as much as possible I want to write it down so I can keep track of my progress.

"People with clear written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine." — Brian Tracy

It is one of my favorite quotes but I haven't really practice writing my goals. I did listed some of the things that I wish to do a couple of years ago on my Notes app. I just check it now while drafting this. Out of the 8 that I have listed, I was only able to accomplish 2. Of course number 1 was to pray and give thanks but it isn't a goal to begin with. So technically, I was only able to do 1 out 8 and it was my business that I have already started a year before I made that list.

3 D's — Determination, Dedication, Discipline 💪🏼

Let's go over with some of the things that I have listed. Donation with Unicef, I have already done it way back 2017 for a year. I listed them because I am planning to continue donating again to them but then again, I wasn't able to accomplish it. With the other foundation, I still have their envelope here with me because I wasn't able to give it to them during Christmas 2019. I know I will be able to give it to them soon eventhough I don't know when.

Driving lessons, I already know how to drive yet my parents are insisting that I should be taught in driving schools. I tried to inquire in some schools near our place however, I wasn't able to enroll. During that time, I was saving my money for my bills. I didn't want to ask money from my dad but I know he will give me especially because it is for a good reason. If only, here we go with "if only", if only I have asked him for money, I should be the one driving during our present situation. My mom or my dad are the ones who drove me around whenever I needed to do some errands. I can actually walk from our house to the bank and supermarket although it is hard when I am carrying a lot of grocery items.

Driving is really important especially now that my parents are getting old and also for emergency purposes. I never really wanted to take driving lessons before because I know that they will ask me to do a lot of errands. Plus given the traffic situation here in the Philippines, I would rather be the passenger than the driver. That was what I instill in my mind. Lazy right? LOL. Not only that, I wouldn't get to enjoy a night out with friends. I wouldn't be able to drink. I have the habit of sleeping in cabs, Grab or Uber when I am drunk. I cannot count how many times I have did that but yes, I was totally drunk. Now that I rarely drink during our gatherings, I still don't want to drive. Probably because I wanted an automatic car and ours is manual transmission. I do know how to drive both but I prefer automatic. My friends let me drive their cars but my parents wouldn't because their requirement is to have driving lessons. Now that we are under pandemic and we don't know when this will be over but I will make sure that I can accomplish this goal someday.

I was suppose to enroll in fitness training with one of my closest friends but it didn't fit her schedule. We were suppose to do driving and fitness training together and because of her busy schedule, it didn't push through.

I only did have one out of town trip during 2019. Is that already consired a travel goal? But if I were to enumerate the provinces or countries that I wish to go to, I do have a lot. Again, I don't have any idea when we can travel again but this goal has always been on top of my list.

Save, save, save! I didn't have any savings when I made that list. I did try the 50 Peso challenge during the start of 2018 and 2019 but it only lasted 3-4 months because I needed to use the money.

My lead image was created mid 2019. I just listed down the things that I want if I have a lot of money like health insurance, giving back to my parents and God, to travel and to be able to buy the things that are on my wishlist folder from then and now.

That is the difference with not having a specific or detailed clear written goals. Plus I wasn't that focused towards achieving any of it. Have you noticed that I had reasons for everything? I know that the main problem was money but if I really wanted to achieve my goals, I should have thought of making money. But no I didn't. I was waiting for the money to fall from the sky. I had my goals but there was little to no execution at all. Sad to say but I wasn't that driven, focused and morivated. It wasn't setting a goal, it was more of a wish or a dream.

Now that I am surrounded with people whom I share the same goal, I believe that I will be able to achieve whatever goals I have set for myself this year. So what are your goals for this year? Is it specific and detailed? Did you set a time frame on when to achieve it? Do you have plans in achieving your goals? As for me, I will try to make a more specific and detailed list of goals and hopefully by the end of this year, I have accomplished most of it and I will update you about it every once in a while. You can also do the same so we can all keep track of our goals in life. I know we all have set our minds and hearts to Club1BCH goal and that is the start. Together, we can make our wishes, dreams and goals into a reality.

I haven't read your million money article yet.. Yes I have a notebook notebook with my goals, short term and long term. I only have specific time frame for short term. Some of my goals that I succeed last year.

  1. Closing my credit card on eastwest bank. Still have balance to pay but it doesn't accumulate w/ interest anymore.
  2. Paid small debts (machine cost)
  3. To survive vivid with the help of shopee.
  4. Last but not the least loving myself more than before.

Savings? Nah. Sablay sa lahat ng sablay hahahahha

Interests will really kill us. Uggghhhhh. I am so happy that you have accomplished a lot. Slowly we will be able to achieve all of our goals. Now I am excited to write about my goals and I know the best part would be when we are going to cross out each of it. 🥰
