Business ideas (part 5)
Out of the 11 business ideas that I have already mentioned, what is it that you want? Any other businesses on mind? I already got votes for Jollibee, Potato Corner and rice retailing. But my list is getting shorter already as I am now down to the last 4 and they are:
Bakery or bread shop
I am sure you are aware that Filipinos love to eat rice for breakfast but there.are also some who prefers eating bread as well as hot pandesal (bun) for breakfast and snack. I also saw a potential in bakeries especially if you have a lot of items to offer to people and not just only pandesal. You can include a sugar coated donut, ensaymada, chocolate crinkles, oatmeal cookie, loaf bread and many other pastries. But usually the most marketable is the pandesal. I do not have any idea hoe much a bakery would cost but you need bigger equipments like mixers and oven.
Gas stations
I remembered @charmingcherry08 with gas as she started selling it a few months ago. I even told her that maybe in the long run she would have a gas station of her own. Everyone knows the high demand for gas. It was only during lockdown when it was low because majority of us cannot go out. I am sure you have also noticed that gas is something that majority of the people who have cars need it thus having a gas station is a good investment.
Bills payment
As per my brother, there is a bills payment business that costs for less than a hundred thousand pesos. Then there is also a bills payment business that costs around Php300,000 ($6,000) but it does not need a staff unlike with the first one that I have mentioned as this is a touch screen machine where you are going to insert your money in order to pay for your bills.
I know that we can now easily pay our bills using our phones and e-wallets but there are still some people who prefers paying the old way than going digital. I do not know how one can earn from bills payment but my brother said that the ROI for this business is less than a year. They are thinking of having a bills payment on their grocery store but they are still thinking if they would opt for the one that needs a POS and a staff which is the old way of paying or just the digital machine. Whatever they decide on, having a bills payment business can be another good source of income don't you think?
Korean grocery store
Of course I would not forget about Korean grocery stores. Even when my brother and sister-in-law's business was still under construction, my dad and I had already noticed the Korean grocery store near our place. We would see a lot of customers coming in and out of the store and the other store always have a lot of stocks piled up outside whenever we would pass by. We have already been influenced by the Korean dramas that we have watched over the years that we also want to try what they eat. Take for example the samgyupsal or Korean barbeque. Prices of the Korean products on Korean groceries are more affordable than in local supermarkets. Not only that the prices are lower but they do have a lot of products to offer that is why a lot of people buy from them.
I guess that's about it. Those are just some of the businesses that I know that we can start. You can actually start whatever business you want or passionate about. If you are into drawing, calligraphy, painting, crocheting, bead making and any other hobby, try putting it into business. Start with your family and friends as they will be your first sale.
@JLoberiza mentioned about innovative on my noisy post when I shared the link of my article. He is right. Business should be innovative. However, only a few does that. Take for example the trend last year for the ube cheese pandesal. It became a hit that a lot of people also tried baking and selling it. Or just like with milk tea shops. Because of its popularity, many have also started their own milk tea business that many offers slightly the same with their competitors.
Whatever business we plan to start, whether it is trending or not, small or big, as long as we are dedicated to make it into a success, it will happen. Think of a lot of ways on how you can build up your business and never lose hope. It will be stressful during the first few months and there will be some bumps along the way but aoon you will be reaping a lot from your business. So, what business do you wish to start?
