Am I a gambler?

Months ago I have read an article from @Murakamii.7, I bet. Judging from the title, would you know what I am about to share today? It has something to do with my recent article. Oh wait, the title is too obvious. LOL. In case you are still not getting what I am blabbering about, it is about gambling. This was actually @meitanteikudo's writing prompt and I will be including the questions that I saw from Murakamii.7 that she saw from him. I have saved the link before and it is only now that I remembered about it because I really believe that I have been a "gamebler". I still want to call it as it is. LOL. But we are all gamblers aren't we? We gamble in every decision that we make in life without knowing whether it is a win or a lose. Even if some are playing safe, they are still gamblers. I am the type of person who is not that into taking risks but there are some instances that I gambled into something without any back up plan. Take for example my resignation. I betted on something that I know will be my defeat but it still became as a win on some parts. I feel like I am just consoling myself with the fact of being unemployed. LOL. What is it that you recently have gambled on? Was it a win or lose? I hope it is the former.

Ooopps. I think I have said enough. LOL. Let us now start answering some of meitanteikudo's questions about gambling.

Do you know how to gamble? What games do you know how to play?

Yes, I do. I am not sure if it was Monkey-Monkey, a card game for kids, or Bingi that I have started playing with bets when I was a kid. Now that I am old, I also know how to play Pusoy Dos, Tong Its and Poker. Although it has been a long time since I played these games and I hope I still know how to play them. LOL.

When was the last time you gamble?

If we are talking about gamble as in like with money then my anawer would be today. LOL. I played mgames again both on GCash and Lyka. However, if we are to talk about my life, it was probably early 2020 when I have finally decided to put up a Youtube channel. It was a gamble because I do not know if it was going to be a success or not but I still did it. I cannot say yet about the outcome since I have been on hiatus for more than a year now. But if it is something that I have betted on as in big time bet, it would be the time when I decided to be unemployed.

When was your greatest victory so far?

I feel like all of my victories were the same no matter how small or big they were. But I must say that my greatest will be when I have finally achieve my dreams and goals in life. So does that mean I haven't achieved them yet? No comment. LOL.

Do you know anyone who's a gambling addict? How are they now?

As far as I know, there is no one whom I know is a gambling addict. My dad gambles after he had retired from working until the pandemic hit us. Whether it was cock fighting, mahjong, pusoy or tong its, he played either one of those everyday. He'd only miss a day if he had a meeting, he lacks sleep or we have a family gathering. His brother also is a regular in casinos but I am just glad that they both know how to control themselves. Never was there a time that my dad got broke because of gambling. He only got broke when my mom was hospitalized. So better get a health insurance. We do not know how much he had spent everyday before and we also do not know how much he loses. We would only know that he won if he was too generous as he would give us additional allowances. He plays or gambles just to kill time, enjoy and also for his brain not to deteriorate as what he would always tell us whenever we would say that he was like he was still working as he was always going out. But now he is addicted to Youtube. LOL.

Have you ever been to a casino? How was your experience?

I have been to a casino but we just passed by it to get some bottled water. LOL. My uncle toured us that time and he was the one who told us to get some water as they were free. Not really sure if it was true.

If you will play a game in a life and death situation, what game would you like it to be?

Murakamii.7 answered Squid Game. When do you think season 2 will come out? Thinking about those games in that movie is making my heart beat fast. LOL. I don't think I will be able to handle the games in Squid Game and also on Alice in Borderland so I'll stick with a game of roulette where someone will throw knives or shoot the apple on top of a head. Yikes.

Whether we are betting our money or not, know that there will always be risks involved in gambling. But know that if we gamble, we either win or we learn. Still a win-win don't you think? After all, we enjoyed every winnings and losings that we have when we gamble in the uncertainties of life. We will only lose the moment we quit. But if money is involved, we will definitely lose if gambling became an addiction to the point of being bankrupt. Better play things wisely and know your priorities.
