There are a lot of volcanoes in the world with different characteristics and different types. Do you know that world's famous perfectly coned shape Volcano is in the Philippines?

Yes, and that is Mayon Volcano.

It is the most active stratovolcano that we have here in the Philippines. The most powerful explosion that we experienced was on 1616 and since then, this volcano has errupted a total of 47 times.

This volcano is one of the most popular destinations in the Bicol Region because of its perfect classical cone shape.

A lot of people hike along the base of this volcano. The locals even made a natural park to attract more tourists that ir became the home to a lot of floral and tree species. There are also rivers, creeks, and rice fields that travelers can trek on foot or they can explore these by riding an ATV or a jeepney.

I would recommend this place because looking at this volcano in person and just by being there will make you appreciate nature. There is also more to Bicol than this volcano ❤️

Mt. Mayon, the perfectly cone-shaped wonder of a volcano in Bicol, is one of the Philippines’ greatest attractions. But what you can see and read from the pages of your textbooks couldn’t do justice to one of the most interesting volcanoes in the world. Mt. Mayon is situated in the Bicol Region, particulary in Legazpi, Albay. The volcano is referred to in those parts as “Bulkang Magayon” which literally translates to “beautiful volcano”. They say that the name of Mayon comes from an ancient regional folktale about a princess named Daragang Magayon.
