a featured community for personal benefits

15 57

Hello everyone.

Can we discuss the experience that I had with this featured community who only has one member which is obviously the admin of that community as well?

I joined this community because I wanted to share my ideas in relation to that specific community. However, I did not receive any notifications so I tried reaching out to that person by posting an update in the community asking why my article was not posted nor rejected where it was just ignored.

Minutes after I posted the update, I got a notofication saying that my article was rejected. I can see that my article meets the rules and it is related to the community. This featured community looks suspicious. Are we allowed to do this in read.cash? Allow people to gain personal benefits out of their featured community?

It is not a community if there is only 1 person in it. How can we report communities that are suspicious as this?

I have been advertising my community in group chats, but I don't have such luck to attract members. I'm glad to you agree to join. If you have any ideas on how to cope with depression. You are free to submit your article.

I don't now which community this would be, but I see nothing suspicious in it. If you don't like the way it is run, start your own community and compete with the one you don't like. Admin and moderators set the standards of a community, that's it. Then there is nothing you as an author can do about that. Communities are not there to serve authors, but to serve readers.

In the end, bad communities will fade away. Especially when the principle of maximum one community for every article has been applied.

No. Maybe this is a misunderstanding but what im talking about is this a community where there is only 1 member who obviously is the owner of this community and it is a featured community. Since it is featured, isnt it supposed to be for everyone? My article which is obviously related to the title (no rules set) was rejected for no given reason. Its okay if its rejected but cant they be reasonable since its a featured community?

If it is featured it is because it contains much enough material of sufficient quality. It doesn't matter if it is by one single author.

No, that it is featured doesn't mean it is for everyone in their capacity of being authors, only in the capacity of being readers. Authors have no right in this matter. Admin does as he wants. He must watch over the set of standards he has set.

Think of it as a paper magazine. Anyone can submit articles to it, but it's the editor who chooses what to include. Nobody has the right to get his article in the magazine. But you can always start your own magazine. Then you are in charge. It's essentially the same with communities. It's task and purpose is to present interesting reading, not to serve authors.

I have several communities myself and I face this every day that authors think they have a right to be approved if they keep to topic and formal rules. It's just that the quality of 90% of the material is so low that it is uninteresting for a reader, then I cannot approve it. In the end, communities are for readers, they are not meant to be dumping grounds for inferior material.

I am not saying that your material is inferior, I have no idea, but if the admin/moderator thinks so, there is nothing you can do, except to start a competing community based on the same topic but with your own standards. You have no right to get material approved to any community. You have the right to submit material, but admin/moderator has the right to choose between approval and rejection.

As for being reasonable, they must be even more strict in what they approve when it is a featured community, otherwise they might lose their featured status. They cannot approve something just to be nice to the author. They could state a reason, okay, but be aware that sometimes that is difficult, because the reason can hurt. Not everyone can take the truth.

But is he even reading it? Come on. I get your point. I do. I even tried to post an update as to why there was no approval or rejection that happened. Obviously he read it because minutes after he rejected my article. He couldve at least responded to the update where i was asking what is going on. Or maybe theres just one admin thats selfish and trying to own all the points 🤔

Well, he doesn't get more points by being alone. As a matter of fact, he gets points for every approval he makes. I don't know what is going on, but I would advice you to leave it and find another community or start your own. What the reasons are for the admin to do as he does, we don't know, and we'll probably never now. It's a waste of energy to fuss with him.

Yeah but a report would be good. It will serve as a suggestion on how to improve and to avoid future complaints and bad experiences perhaps

Yes, this 👆

@bbhoho44 , If you don't like how someone runs his community - don't join it, publish your article to your own community if you want to. The community is "writer(s) + readers". If one writer has many readers - they are his/her community.

I also had that experience. I submitted an article about the topic only to be rejected because the "Rule" section was more specific than the title of the community. And I failed to comply in the community's rule. haha.

for example, it says "ABS CBN" so I submitted an article about ABS CBN then it was rejected only to see that the rule says about "gandang gabi vice". just an example... hahaha it was fine with me . I posted it to other groups. But it was frustating of course.

It's okay to have only one participant for the community to give chance for new moderators for their non-featured community. I was the only participant in my community when it was accepted. I wrote articles about the community to have enough articles to be featured. Now i have participants and they are submitting articles. Some I accept, some I reject because it was slightly off the topic. I am kind of strict when it comes to topic cause I want to stay to be featured and help authors and myself to have a chance to earn and express their thoughts about my topic.

Maybe you can report it to the readcash team so they can look it up and investigate. And if that moderator did a violation, the readcash community can do certain action of punishment. It will always be nice to hear both sides. :) But if you think you got violated, reach out to readcash team. They will do something about that. :)

Good luck always! :)

Thank you! I totally get you. I am totally fine getting rejected when it comes to my articles and i accept that im not the best writer. I just find it frustraing for a lot of reasons: first, the only member of the community is the moderator ( a one person community); second, there was no approval or rejection for hrs which i understand because maybe theyre just busy or resting but suddenly this person posted a new article in the community so basically my article was just ignored. So ofc i posted on the community asking whats going on, now obviously this person got notified because right after i asked, this person rejected my article. Without any specific reason! Just blaaaank. Come on. At least put a reason. Its not like this person did not receive my complaint. But its fine now, ive moves on. I let karma do the work hahaha

There is nothing suspicious about it, the moderator simply didn't got the time to check in to respond to your article on time. Your topic maybe right for the community but if your content isn't it can still be rejected. Also by the condition of Communities in read.cash right now, every featured Communities moderators are working to ensure the community remain featured by ensuring certain standard are meant for article to be approved into that community. There is nothing like one man community, if your article have satisfied the community standard it would be approved.
