No matter how hard, how impossible when you dream and work on it and be persistent there is no doubt you can reach your dream!

My sister is a great example of this story and I am proud to share it with you all. My eldest sister is a consistent honor student since grade school. She is an achiever ever since. She wanted to take up political science and pursue law but because it will take a lot of years to finish it so she decided to go with BS Computer Science and at that time IT courses were already in demand.

She lives with our relatives in Manila, it was her 1st time meeting some of them but she endured and adapted easily. At that time I was very envy of her, I thought she was our parents favorite because every time she goes home, she was sleeping all day and almost do not help us with our house chores. But then when I was already in college and we both lived with our relatives I then understood her life living away with us. I learned to admire her even more.

I was first year college when she started working and she started in a networking company as a data analyst. Unfortunately, there were a lot of issues back then about networking that caused their company to close down and left her jobless. She had a hard time looking for a new one, my parents even asked some relatives if there was a job vacancy that would fit her. I saw her struggle at that time then after few months, a former client in her previous employer offered her for an opportunity in their new BPO company. She was hesitant at first but then she learned that even her former officemates also received a call and so she grabbed the opportunity. She was one of the pioneer employees and from data analyst she was promoted and became a team leader where she got the chance to be sent abroad and represent their company.

After years of service and she have proved her worth she was again promoted and became a manager. My sister remained humble and simple despite all her achievements. She was invited as a guest speaker in our school back in elementary and it was sad that some close relatives mocked at her and even gave foul comments about her speech and that hurt not only my sister but most especially my mother. From then on she never allowed anyone of us to be a guest speaker.

My sister remained forgiving and continued to soar. When she had enough savings, she decided to pursue her first love which is law. She enrolled and asked her bosses to give her a convenient schedule so she can attend school at night. They allowed and supported her but then BPO works have been so demanding and her health and grades suffer that much so she again gave up law. She just focused on her career and it paid off because she was promoted to be one of the directors.

Being in that position is a blessing but also requires a lot of her time. Before the pandemic she almost stayed at their office because there are a lot of responsibilities that she needs to take care of. So we could not blame her if all weekend she was sleeping almost all day. Her only me time is spa and shopping.

She have achieved so much not just status but most importantly the love and respect of many people here in our barangay. She started to have a gift giving here in our barangay every year specifically kids, seniors and the least fortunate. And you cannot really please everyone especially close relatives. They should be the one who supports and cheer you but no, they are the ones who pull you down over and over. As if they don't want you to succeed.

She never stops supporting us even if we already have our career and family on our own. She is one of our source of strength when our father died 7 years ago. Her compassion and love for each of is unmatchable and I just so proud to be her sister.

I just wish that soon she could finally meet her Mr. Right, the one who will love her, respect her and understand her, because she deserve nothing but the best☺️.

Awww..I'm so moved with your article. I guess it really is normal to feel that our brother/sister was our parents' favorite. I envy your sister for taking up law.
