Oh Politics
The article below is based on my personal experience and observations. This is not intended to offend anyone.
During my childhood days, we have been voting the same politicians with the simple thought that they are famous, they have done this and that and one of them even have a resort just at the back of our house. They used to even asked my grandma to cook them 'patupat' (sweetened glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves) an Ilocano delicacy. During Christmas day, they will have us kids line up and give us present that has rice, apple and a juice in it and we were happy. Those simple joys of a child.
I was so excited when I finally got the chance to vote. I thought that it's time to give back for all the gifts that I have received every Christmas day. But then, research and news shows the different side of this politician I admired. The respect I have for him started to fall apart, to be broken. Proofs says that he is a corrupt, he is using his power in land grabbing including our barangay's property. The resort that we all knew and believe since childhood that theirs is actually not. It's the property of the barangay! The title and ownership was never given to them and no one still dares to complain. And he have been earning a lot of money from this property as he is currently have it rented by TESDA.
He also established another resort near our school back when we were in elementary. This resort was really a great place for concerts, pageants, sports and other events. It's really a famous resort like 10 years ago. But it has been closed by the government because of the same reason that this is not their property.
Last year, a property which have been subdivided were having a problem because there was no source of water in their area. They have been trying to dig but failed. Some of the owners asked for help to this particular politician since he have a property nearby and it's really a great source of water. But what he did was this, they made concrete walls of their whole property disallowing anyone from entering. Yes, very cruel one!

We really have to do our own research, being Marites once in a while is not bad as long as it's for the better, as long as they help us make a wise decision. We need to do our part in making our country a corrupt free one. These politicians are all wise but we need to be wiser than them because our future and our children's future is at stake here.
Watch, research, analyze and dissect what we see and hear in different platforms.
Let's all vote wisely!
