Our parents and grandparents are God's chosen angels to protect, guide, support and love us. When they are already old and hardly walk, please never ignore or abandon them because they are more sensitive than everyone else. Listen to them and never make them feel worthless, they deserve better.
I have a 90-year old grandma, she lives alone in her house but at night, my cousin sleeps there and accompany her. She has nothing to worry with her foods, her needs because we support her with that. It's just that she don't want to leave their family house. She said she feel more secure and comfortable there. When we bring her snacks, she would always gets emotional and would say, please bear with me and don't be just like me; find a partner because being alone is too hard. In the morning, she would sit in front of her house while holding her rosary and quietly observing every thing around her. Then she would joke around that her end is near but we try to immediately change the subject.
One day, she heard the news that a close friend of hers had been transferred to a nearby home care. She plead that if possible that would not happen to her, and that she would behave and not be a burden to everyone just to not bring them there also. Of course, we will never do that to her and that never cross our minds.
My mother is another story. She always felt that she still needs to provide for us, serve us just like when we were kids. If possible, as long as she still can and able, she would cook, do the laundry and clean the house. She was even shy to ask for money or allowance😁.

Love your parents
Love your grannies
Show them the love, respect and care that they deserve
Don't ever make them feel weak and worthless
They have fought and still fighting in life
They survived every battle just to protect us
They crossed every hard path to give us the best life

this is a heart warming article. I suddenly remember my Lola. She passed away when I was 17 years old.
