I believe in him!
Inspired by sis @bbyblacksheep I Believe in Me article, I want to take this chance also to give honor to my beloved hubby for never letting his passion and talent go to waste. He just keeps on unleashing them, it surprises me everytime and I could not just help but admire and love him even more. He is a man who never stops learning, exploring and working. He is not a type who will just sit or lie down waiting for opportunity to drag him. He wants to create and discover one.
During pandemic, his work as a Sales Executive in a property developer has been greatly affected. He was thinking of how to make use of his time productive and still earning while at home and trying to be safe from covid. He focused on our plants and concrete pots business.
He create all these using his improvised tools as he wanted products that are not easily copied. We have gained some resellers already and would order several pots in a week.
I was the one who collects succulent and cactus before but then these plants became livelier and healthier under his care. When he learned to propagate them, that's when he started selling them also.
Then pandemic strikes, everyone was afraid to go out. Deliveries and meet-up have been limited, our sales have been affected again. What he did was, he joined the home owners association page in FB and there he posts our items. Luckily, there had been customers who visits us at home and buy some of our products.
But then again, his aunt died due to covid and Tatay became sickly. He needed to sacrifice our business so he could take care of Tatay. Pots by RAGV has been inactive for several months.
When everything went well, he tried capturing his previous clients and newbies by adding customized plant rack using wood and steel.
He was hoping that I could help him with our business but I could not leave our daughter here in the province yet. Due to word of mouth, customers do come and still visit our store to buy plants, pots and soil. This January, he already received 3 orders of customized plant rack. (If you want one and just near San Jose Del Monte Bulacan, you can send orders thru me๐).
When he came home last December, mother showed him some logs and asked if he can create tables or chairs from those. These has been in the backyard for years already and mother would not want them to be put to waste or eaten up by termites. Because he don't want to disappoint Nanang, he said yes and tried his best to deliver items requested. And tadaaaa!!!
He created 3 tables and 1 chair and they looked like antique furnitures after polishing them when varnish. When my grandma saw it, she could not help but asked one table as a gift. With mother's permission, we gave her one table๐.
He was so happy with the result that after 4 days, he inspected the woods in the garden and created a center table and lampshades out of these.
He said, he was like solving a puzzle when he was making the table's legs because these are hard and complicated looking woods/roots. These were actually decades old already, I remember those times when we go to the forest and dig these roots out from the ground. Good thing mother managed to saved all these and just displayed them in the garden. I so love this one, it is currently displayed in our living room๐.
When he came back to Manila after his one month vacation, he is back to business. His sister saw all the above and admired them, just that she could not order because she is in London right now. So what she did was asked if he could try creating key chains using woods then send them to her. Hubby loves this kind of challenges, where he could use both his artist and skilled side at the same time. He had been practicing since last week and he even invented his own wood burn tool and created these:
From a simple foot stool, he added some details using his improvised tool. Then just today, he saw the chopping board that his sister gave him years ago and have been working on the Lion's head inspired by the Chinese New Year's: Year of the White Lion. His first idea was to give it to Tatay as his gift but changed his mind when he saw how good it was. He said, we will just keep it for our house๐.

With his talent and skills, I know that soon we will have a great business soon! I am so proud of my loves and everything that he do.
