Against or Not!

People around you either on your side or against. Most of the time the hardest people to convince to be on your side especially when it comes to business or other matters that requires abrupt decision is your family. Do you agree?

When I have an online shop, Beauty Trend, where I sell organic soap, the least people who will buy my items are members of my family. They would just say okay good luck and even help me repack them but they never even tried to buy one unless I already put it in the bathroom for use. And I am also hesitant to ask for help even in just sharing in their own social media account. Maybe because I am afraid to be rejected and that would really hurt my feelings. I will just wait for them to approach me and say, I want to try this one or can I buy one?

Another example is when my brother shifted his career from being a mechanical engineer to a financial advisor. My mother and our eldest sister did not approve and would often say, 'sayang naman pinag-aralan mo'. They thought it's not for him and that it's better if he would stick with being an engineer and would not even listen to his explanations. But good thing my brother did not listen to them and just pursue his passion. He received a lot of recognition and really is earning much and that he is working freely at his own pace and time. No pressure, just goals! And finally, the whole family recognizes his achievements and are already cheering him up when he saves lives.

When negativity struck someone, even when you have shared a lot of problems and triumphs together, you cannot still fully know their attitude and character. They are still in question especially when it comes to money matters and in achievements. That's what happened to our close friend. She helped his cousin when he was in prison because he was caught selling drugs. She and her husband shell-out a huge amount of money just to get him out. They have given him a chance, offered him and his family a small space to start a business. The business started off but eventually became so popular because of the great beach view. For first one (1) month, they have accumulated a total sales of almost 200k, far from their previous sales of 20-30k a month.

Money changed them instantly and they forget that they are family and all the good deeds this close friend made for them. They were even accused of being envious and backstabber when in fact they are the ones who posted malicious accusations and were even name names in their own social media accounts. They totally became a changed person, someone who think they are better and that they don't need anyone's help anymore.

Some relatives and friends even deny you and your good deeds when you say NO to them once. It's as if you did a huge crime that they will even ignore you. And worst, that single NO will be the talk of the town and that they forget everything that you have done for them.

Just like love, you will also unveil the true intention, the real color of a person in a mysterious way. It's just so amazing when God shows it to us and all we can say is 'thank you, Lord!'. These ways can truly hurt us, make us feel sad and depressed at times but it will also test our strength to get up and shake them off our lives. We will know whom to trust and not. That not all who smile and eat with you is on your side.

So my friend, are we truly friends? Are you with me or not?
