I found ibis Paint X today from an XGimp review in the play store. I looked for an app because the kids wanted to play Minecraft with both of my laptops and I wanted to merge some screenshots via layers - for making some Noise.
It was a bit tricky to find a rectangular selection tool. Yet after finding the Lasso tool for freehand selections I discovered the Selection Layer in combination with the rectangular Drawing Tool in the Stabilizer menu.
Great find! Do you know or use a neat app like this for merging images?

Ich habe ibis Paint X heute durch eine XGimp-Bewertung im Play Store gefunden. Ich habe nach einer App gesucht, weil die Kids mit meinen beiden Laptops Minecraft spielen wollten und ich einige Screenshots über Ebenen zusammenführen wollte - für Noise machen.
Es war ein bisschen schwierig, ein rechteckiges Auswahlwerkzeug zu finden. Doch nachdem ich das Lasso-Werkzeug für freihand Auswahlen gefunden hatte, entdeckte ich die Auswahlebene in Kombination mit dem rechteckigen Zeichenwerkzeug im Stabilisierungsmenü.

Today we played the expansion "Legends of the Conquerors" for The Settlers of Catan for the first time.
The first noticeable detail is that we already expanded the barbarians board before (see post trail below). Here now, however, numerous elements are added by the game developers.
The game is truly a challenge. In the picture you can see the conquerors who gradually take the island. Winning the game while working together to hold back the conquerors makes for an interesting mix of cooperation and competition.
In our first game we suffered a defeat. The construction of the fortress is essential in order to be able to use third level knights, which are important for defending the island. In the next game, we will focus on this - each individually, yet all together.
We played the first game with three players. This is the minimum number of players that is recommended. And with two it will be even harder against the conquerors - or they have to be reduced before the game starts. However, we have already come up with our own variant for a game with two players. And if you follow the post trail, you'll see that we've done this many times before. We will play a third player together. And we'll call him Jarvis, because that's the name of the third player in the card game "The Crew". But more on that another time if you're interested.

Catan wieder und wieder
Wir spielten heute erstmals die Erweiterung "Legenden der Eroberer" für Die Siedler von Catan.
Das erste auffällige Detail ist, dass wir die Tafel für die Barbaren zuvor bereits erweiterten (siehe Beitrags-Pfad unten). Hier nun jedoch kommen zahlreiche Elemente der Spieleentwickler hinzu.
Das Spiel ist wahrhaftig eine Herausforderung. Im Bild zu sehen sind die Eroberer, die nach und nach die Insel einnehmen. Das Spiel zu gewinnen und gleichzeitig gemeinsam die Eroberer zurückzuhalten ergibt eine interessante Mischung aus Kooperation und Konkurrenz.
In unserer ersten Partie haben wir eine Niederlage erlitten. Der Ausbau der Festung ist essentiell, um Ritter der dritten Stufe verwenden zu können, die zur Verteidigung der Insel wichtig sind. Bei der nächsten Partie werden wir uns darauf konzentrieren - jeder für sich, und doch alle gemeinsam.
Wir spielten die erste Partie zu dritt. Das ist die Mindesanzahl an Spielern, die Empfohlen ist. Und zu zweit wird es gegen die Eroberer noch schwerer - oder sie müssen vor Spielbeginn reduziert werden. Wir haben uns jedoch für ein Spiel zu zweit schon wieder eine ganz eigene Variante ausgedacht. Und wer dem Beitrags-Pfad folgt, wird sehen, dass wir das oft und gerne schon getan haben. Wir werden einen dritten Spieler gemeinsam spielen. Und wir werden ihn Jarvis nennen, denn so heißt der dritte Spieler beim Kartenspiel "The Crew". Doch dazu bei Interesse mehr ein anderes Mal.

We found it laying in a friend's closet, a tabletop classic from the 1960s. It's somewhat similar to Ludo. For me, it's a rediscovery. My family often played it with a former me, back in the late 1980s.
After a first round together, two young people here played their very own variant, combined with "The Enchanted Tower". Then today at noon I played two rounds with my son. There were two close showdowns at the finish.
Do you know the game? I will visit my parents this week and ask them if they still have the box from that time. Maybe we can play it again alive.

Es lag bei Freunden im Schrank, einen Brettspiel-Klassiker aus den 1960er Jahren. Es hat Ähnlichkeit mit "Mensch ärgere dich nicht". Für mich ist es eine Wiederentdeckung. Meine Familie spielte es oft mit einem früheren Ich, damals Ende der 1980er Jahre.
Nach einer ersten Runde gemeinsam spielten zwei junge Menschen hier eine ganz eigene Variante, kombiniert mit "Der verzauberte Turm". Heute mittag dann spielte ich zwei Runden mit meinem Sohn. Es gab dabei zwei Mal knapp einen Showdown beim Ziel.
Kennst Du das Spiel? Ich werde diese Woche meine Eltern besuchen und sie bei der Gelegenheit fragen, ob sie die Schachtel von damals noch haben. Vielleicht können wir sie nochmal wieder lebendig spielen.

I was shocked when I was presented with new terms of service by chess.con when I read there will be KYC for using their site.
However, this turned out to be a misunderstanding when reading the fine print. What they really do is offering achievements and games as NFTs on Ethereum. I can't believe they do, due to the Gas fees, but looks I can play along without this feature.
And with this they offer an option to verify an account, as it is not mendatory. So play is still welcome without.

Do you use Brave regularly? Do you even use the Word Wide Web as it was supposed to be? Oh, you still use facebook? Here I share a tiny bit of my WWW horizon with you.
I love the simple things. As you may know, "the simple things" are different for everyone. I used to use facebook a lot, back in the days when multiple tabs could be opened. I could not do this anymore, when the facebook code base became so heavy that their background activity forced my hardware to the knees when executed multiple times, or even dozens of times, in multiple tabs. Give it a try. That's what I see as the simple things. From this you'll notice that there is a lot going on in the background, strangers making use of my hardware and energy consumption.
So "the simple things" for some are staying in line and doing what everyone is doing. And just as with other "services", not leaving their box for you to consume their advertisements. Didn't you notice this with tools like Instagram or Youtube? You are held in line by either URLs not clickable (Insta) or deleted from comments straightforward due to "community guidelines" (Youtube). As for me the simple things are what I can taste, grasp, see, hear or smell. So back then I enjoyed to quickly open a dozen tabs from my notifications in facebook and then skim through it for staying in touch with you awesome fellows. Not anymore for a long long time now. But then, ruffly a year ago, I discovered Noise. It is coded slim and works like a charm in any circumstances. All you need is a browser and an e-mail address. No keys and resource credits like at Hive, my second favorite FinSoc.
So at Noise I can skim through my notifications just like back in those days. And I can open those I want to look into in a new tab, while they gray out in my notifications for the rest to stay notified. I do this at least twice a day and from this my favorite bloggers benefit hugely as I curate what I like.
That way I keep in touch with those close friends who blog only very very seldomly, by receiving their notifications. And that way I keep in touch with those friends who are busily blogging multiple posts a day, sometimes hundreds of posts a week, by being notified when THEY visit my feed and leave me some traces, not me being buried in notifications. I simply don't subscribe to those friends, though I love what they are. That has been my strategy at facebook back in the days this platform was awesome, and this is my strategy at every other platform: Visit those you want to see you visit. This keeps media consumption low and media productivity high.
Makes me think of another example of "the simple things". When Instagram added their translation service, I was astounded of what this can do. It's simple. But it's not available everywhere throughout Insta. I rather chose my translation machine by myself. And this is what I do with tabs again. I open my instances of deepl.com, dict.cc and/or translate.google.com when I need it and boom. I may even change Brave with something better soon, as the BAT token turned out to be more of a burden. Yet so far it does not hurt my experience. And if you registered as a content creator with BAT, let me know. I have lots of BAT that I don't want to through after the big players in the web. We are the people!
And now to the best part. The Tab Group feature is found in the Appearance Settings of Brave. With this the tabs I open are grouped and those groups become visible. The simple things, you remember? Brave do group newly opened tabs without this function, but that is another story. With "Tab Groups" enabled, there is an additional menu bar at the bottom showing those tabs that are opened from each other.
And in the following example I added a tab for deepl, dict and translate. The tab group bar at the bottom smoothly hides when the screen scrolls down (as pictured) and shows up again, when the screen scrolls up.
This way I can not only easily go through those notifications, but converse with human beings in different networks and even different languages. In the thread you see in this picture I made extensive use of translation tools for reading all the good comments and asked a question. I hope to receive an answer for learning some classic Filipino recipe.
Sure, I could *simply* go for a search engine journey and find a recipe elsewhere. But there we are again with the simple things, are we? I prefer the peer-to-peer approach, where I converse with beings not with machines. Now with most of the things there is a catch. I use Brave on another device, i.e. a seven inch tablet. And I wonder why I neither find the option *Enable Tab Groups* nor *Enable bottom toolbar* in that version of Brave.
That is the tablet I reported about using without Google at https://noise.cash/post/k4w250pt7kzp and I could not even switch to English for making an appropriate screenshot here.
So just that you know, "Darstellung" means "Appearence", so the options are *simply* missing. And it turns out that the Brave version on the tablet (white background) is even more recent then the version I have on the smartphone (black background).

Ich liebe die einfachen Dinge. Wie Du vielleicht weißt, sind "die einfachen Dinge" für jeden etwas anderes. Ich benutzte Facebook sehr oft, damals, als man noch mehrere Tabs öffnen konnte. Das ging nicht mehr, als der Facebook-Code so umfangreich wurde, dass seine Hintergrundaktivität meine Hardware in die Knie zwang, wenn er mehrfach oder sogar dutzendfach in mehreren Tabs ausgeführt wurde. Versuch es doch mal. Das ist es, was ich als die einfachen Dinge bezeichne. Du wirst feststellen, dass im Hintergrund eine Menge los ist, bei dem Fremde meine Hardware ausnutzen und Energie verbrauchen.
Die "einfachen Dinge" bestehen also für einige darin, sich an die Vorgaben zu halten und das zu tun, was alle tun. Und genau wie bei anderen "Diensten", bloß nicht aus der Reihe tanzen, damit du ihre Werbung konsumierst. Ist Dir das bei Angeboten wie Instagram oder Youtube noch nicht aufgefallen? Man wird auf Linie gehalten, indem entweder URLs nicht anklickbar sind (Insta) oder Kommentare aufgrund von "Community-Richtlinien" einfach gelöscht werden (Youtube). Einen solchen Fall hatte ich einmal dokumentiert bei https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@anli/a-letter-to-a-friend
Für mich sind die einfachen Dinge das, was ich schmecken, greifen, sehen, hören oder riechen kann. Damals habe ich es genossen, schnell ein Dutzend Tabs von meinen Benachrichtigungen in Facebook zu öffnen und sie dann zu überfliegen, um mit euch großartigen Menschen in Kontakt zu bleiben. Das ist jetzt schon lange nicht mehr der Fall. Aber dann, vor etwa einem Jahr, habe ich Noise entdeckt. Es ist schlank programmiert und funktioniert unter allen Umständen hervorragend. Alles was man braucht ist ein Browser und eine E-Mail Adresse. Keine Schlüssel und Ressourcen-Credits wie bei Hive, meiner zweitliebsten FinSoc.
Bei Noise kann ich also meine Benachrichtigungen überfliegen, genau wie damals. Und ich kann diejenigen, die ich mir ansehen möchte, in einem neuen Tab öffnen, während sie in meinen Benachrichtigungen verblassen, damit der Rest benachrichtigt bleibt. Ich mache das mindestens zweimal am Tag, und davon profitieren meine Lieblingsblogger enorm, da ich das, was ich mag, kuratiere.
Auf diese Weise bleibe ich mit den engen Freunden, die nur sehr selten bloggen, in Kontakt, indem ich ihre Benachrichtigungen erhalte. Und auf diese Weise bleibe ich mit den Freunden in Kontakt, die fleißig mehrere Beiträge pro Tag bloggen, manchmal Hunderte pro Woche, indem ich benachrichtigt werde, wenn SIE meinen Feed besuchen und mir eine Spur hinterlassen, statt dass ich unter den Benachrichtigungen begraben werde. Ich abonniere diese Freunde einfach nicht, obwohl ich ihre Beiträge sehr schätze. Das war meine Strategie bei facebook, als diese Plattform noch großartig war, und das ist meine Strategie bei jeder anderen Plattform: Besuche die, die du gern bei dir sehen möchtest. Das hält den Medienkonsum niedrig und die Medienproduktivität hoch.
Das erinnert mich an ein anderes Beispiel für "die einfachen Dinge". Als Instagram seinen Übersetzungsdienst einführte, war ich erstaunt, was damit alles möglich ist. Es ist einfach. Aber er ist nicht überall auf Insta verfügbar. Ich habe mir meine Übersetzungsmaschine lieber selbst ausgesucht. Und das mache ich wieder mit Tabs. Ich öffne meine Instanzen von deepl.com, dict.cc und/oder translate.google.com, wenn ich es brauche und zack. Vielleicht tausche ich Brave bald gegen etwas Besseres aus, denn das BAT-Token hat sich als eher lästig erwiesen. Doch bisher hat es meine Nutzung nicht behindert. Und wenn Du Dich als Ersteller von Inhalten mit BAT registriert hast, lass es mich wissen. Ich habe viele BAT, die ich nicht den großen Akteuren im Web hinterherwerfen möchte. Wir sind das Volk!
Und nun zum besten Teil. In den Darstellungs-Einstellungen von Brave befindet sich die Funktion Tab Group. Damit werden die Tabs, die ich öffne, gruppiert und diese Gruppen werden sichtbar. Die einfachen Dinge, Du erinnerst dich? Brave gruppiert neu geöffnete Tabs auch ohne diese Funktion, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte. Wenn "Tab Groups" aktiviert ist, gibt es eine zusätzliche Menüleiste am unteren Rand, die die Tabs anzeigt, die aus einem anderen geöffnet wurden.
Und im folgenden Beispiel habe ich einen Tab für deepl, dict und translate hinzugefügt. Die Tab-Gruppenleiste am unteren Rand wird sanft ausgeblendet, wenn der Bildschirm nach unten bewegt wird (wie abgebildet), und wieder eingeblendet, wenn der Bildschirm nach oben bewegt wird.
Auf diese Weise kann ich nicht nur die Benachrichtigungen durchsehen, sondern mich auch mit Menschen in verschiedenen Netzen und sogar in verschiedenen Sprachen austauschen. In dem Faden, den Du auf diesem Bild siehst, habe ich die Übersetzungstools ausgiebig genutzt, um all die guten Kommentare zu lesen und eine Frage zu stellen. Ich hoffe, eine Antwort zu erhalten, um ein klassisches philippinisches Rezept zu lernen.
Sicher, ich könnte *einfach* eine Suchmaschinenreise machen und ein Rezept woanders finden. Aber da sind wir wieder bei den einfachen Dingen, nicht wahr? Ich bevorzuge den Peer-to-Peer-Ansatz, bei dem ich mich mit Menschen und nicht mit Maschinen austausche. Nun gibt es bei den meisten Dingen einen Haken. Ich verwende Brave auf einem anderen Gerät, nämlich einem Sieben-Zoll-Tablet. Und ich frage mich, warum ich in dieser Version von Brave weder die Option Tab-Gruppen noch die untere Symbolleiste finde.

Nur damit ihr es wisst, "Darstellung" bedeutet "Appearence", und die Optionen sind *einfach* nicht vorhanden. Und es stellt sich heraus, dass die Brave-Version auf dem Tablet (weißer Hintergrund) sogar aktueller ist als die Version, die ich auf dem Smartphone habe (schwarzer Hintergrund).

Anyone reading this who has experience with #spreadsheet #alternatives in the cloud? I was specifically looking for a spreadsheet that is designed for use on #Android, but not #Google.
For my application It does not particularly need to be in the clouds. So if you know some, an offline app is welcome as well. Especially #FOSS, which means Free and Open Source Software.
First I was looking into https://cryptpad.fr as being a zero knowledge service without fixed costs. But it lacked an interface designed for tablet use. Maybe I have overlooked something there. All controls are simply too small and fiddly to use in the browser on the tablet.
Yet with this I found #Onlyoffice with a personal license without monetary costs. I took some effort to fill my first document with the data about a week ago, using the browser side app on my desktop. When I opened it for editing on Android today, the document was empty. Back at my desktop in the browser I found the #versionhistory.
Fortunately, the second version in the picture is still the version that I had worked up. So now I can continue to work with it. But I am not really happy with the experience.

Tabellenprogramm auf Android?
Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit #Tabellenkalkulation #Alternativen in der Cloud? Ich war speziell auf der Suche nach einer Tabellenkalkulation, die für #Android geeignet ist, aber nicht #Google.
Für meine Anwendung muss es nicht unbedingt in der Cloud sein. Wenn Du also etwas weißt, ist auch eine Offline-App willkommen. Insbesondere #FOSS, was für Free and Open Source Software steht.
Zunächst habe ich mir https://cryptpad.fr als Zero Knowledge Service ohne Fixkosten angeschaut. Aber es fehlte eine Oberfläche, die für die Nutzung auf Tablets ausgelegt ist. Vielleicht habe ich da etwas übersehen. Alle Bedienelemente sind einfach zu klein und fummelig, um sie im Browser auf dem Tablet zu nutzen.
Doch so fand ich #Onlyoffice mit einer persönlichen Lizenz ohne monetäre Kosten. Ich habe mir vor etwa einer Woche die Mühe gemacht, mein erstes Dokument mit Daten zu füllen, und zwar über die App im Browser am Desktop. Als ich es heute auf Android zur Bearbeitung öffnete, war das Dokument leer. Zurück auf meinem Desktop im Browser fand ich den #Versionsverlauf.
Glücklicherweise ist die zweite Version im Bild immer noch die Version, die ich ausgearbeitet hatte. Jetzt kann ich also weiter damit arbeiten. Aber so richtig glücklich bin ich mit dieser Erfahrung nicht.
Ich würde mich sehr über wertvolle Anregungen in den Kommentaren freuen! *zwinkerzwinker* Billige Kommentare hingegen kannst Du Dir gerne sparen.

These two capsules contain oil. I do not care what I need it for. I am just fine with it. The one, however, is extremely advanced in quality. It is available in a variant with fish and one without (vegan).
The other is part of the pack I was given by a very good friend that I am currently given for a taste. When I take it without a meal, within the next half hour, I lightly burp once or twice with the taste of fish. This is understandable, but I do not like it. So I take it with a meal and all is good. Even when I forgot to take it before, it still worked half an hour later with no taste of fish.
The other one I can take without a meal, and although as a fish oil variant, I don't taste fish then, but herbs. This was strange the first time it happened to me. However, I like it just fine compared to fish flavor.
That's how subtle the differences in products can be. Whether the quality is worth its price is ultimately a completely different question, which I will now deliberately leave open.

Ich will von Omega 3 erzählen
Diese zwei Kapseln enthalten Öl. Mir ist nicht wichtig, wozu ich das brauche. Es geht mir gut damit. Die eine jedoch ist qualitativ extrem hoch entwickelt. Sie ist erhältlich in einer Variante ohne Fisch (vegan) und einer mit.
Die andere ist Teil des Packs, das ich von einer sehr guten Freundin geschenkt bekam, das ich derzeit probieren darf. Wenn ich es ohne Mahlzeit einnehme, stoße ich innerhalb der nächsten halben Stunde ein, zwei Mal leicht mit Geschmack von Fisch auf. Das ist verständlich, doch es gefällt mir nicht. Ich nehme es also zu einer Mahlzeit ein und alles ist gut. Sogar als ich das vorher mal vergessen hatte, ging das auch eine halbe Stunde später noch ohne Fischgeschmack.
Die andere kann ich auch ohne Mahlzeit einnehmen, und obwohl als Fischölvariante, schmecke ich dann keinen Fisch, sondern Kräuter. Das war seltsam, als es mir das erste Mal passierte. Doch ich kann es gut leiden, im Vergleich zu Fischgeschmack.
So fein können die Unterschiede bei Produkten sein. Ob die Qualität seinen Preis wert ist, ist letztlich eine ganz andere Frage, die ich hier nun bewusst offen lassen will.

Solche Messenger existieren bereits. Und sobald wir am gleichen Ort sind, wäre es mir eine Freude, Dir davon etwas zu zeigen. Das neue Internet ist Peer-to-Peer!

What's funny to me is that the time of yesterday has been nonsensical, too. It's to keep a rhythm. And when I realized mine is more like UTC-2, I first was wondering why I liked summer time more. Maybe it's because the difference is even, not odd.
And yes, this power game can stop. I don't mind what they call it, but arbitrarily changing this rhythm in a centralized way is the same nonsense as choosing a regent every four years. The time is now!

I'm not sure about the human behind the profile Leen of being a painter. There were lots of eyelash photos back in the days when I was not blocked. And when screenshots of those were shown in an arabic Insta community some artist appeared who claimed to be the author by the same name. That unfortunately stopped Leen publishing these beautiful sketches, instead of simply being more open about sources.
Any way I will not go into this here any further and I will not go publish any evidence myself either here, for not being into this. What I saw could easily have been exactly the other way around. Imposters are all around here and thete. And I don't care about this. My thing is conversation. I had good conversations even with imposters of Andreas M. Antonopoulos. I love that. It's punk rock. As of what you did with the quills I have no good idea. Maybe you brushed the carpet? I wonder about the size of them. Must have been a huge hedgehog. Amazing!
BTW: That is what I love about Hive. There is censorship resistance. Pictures can be removed, but never threads of conversations. What I particularly like about this product is the organization of the packaging. With individually packaged products, I handle a lot of packaging several times a week. This certainly has advantages for the distribution company, because with all the jars their advertising space becomes visible. For me as a user, however, it is much more important that it is easier for me to keep track of whether and how much I have already consumed today.
I simply take a packet for each day. And if I take more than one, I simply put a single one in my other pocket or separately in the morning and keep track of everything and stay in a good mood.
Sample packets are also easier to give away. After all, anyone who knows and likes MLM well knows how important it is to promote your own family rather than the family of a company or upline that may change its portfolio in five years in a way that is no longer suitable. Independent partners, however, are a guarantee of quality for a good price.

Besonders gut gefällt mir an diesem Produkt die Organisation der Verpackung. Bei einzeln verpackten Produkten hantiere ich mehrmals pro Woche mit vielen Verpackungen. Das hat für die Vertriebsfirma sicher Vorteile, da bei all den Döschen deren Werbefläche sichtbar wird. Für mich als Nutzer ist jedoch viel wichtiger, dass ich leichter den Überblick behalte, ob und wie viel ich heute schon verzehrt habe.
Hierbei strecke ich mir einfach für jeden Tag ein Päckchen ein. Und wenn ich mir mehrere einstecke, tue ich morgens einfach eine einzelnen in die andere Hosentasche oder separat und behandelte den Überblick und gute Laune.
Probepäckchen lassen sich auch leichter verschenken. Denn wer MLM gut kennt und mag, weiß, wie wichtig es ist, Werbung für die eigene Familie zu machen, statt für die Familie einer Firma oder Upline, die in fünf Jahren vielleicht ihr Portfolio auf eine Art ändert, die nicht länger tragbar ist. Unabhängige Partner jedoch sind ein Garant für Qualität zu gutem Preis.
