Here is why I LOVE correspondence chess #english below the tag cloud Hier der Grund, warum ich Fernschach LIEBE Die Überraschung ist jedes Mal groß, wenn ein Mitspieler einen nächsten Zug gemacht hat. Und gelegentlich gibt es Situationen, da ist guter Rat teuer. Dann habe ich viel Freude daran, erst ein paar Möglichkeiten zu testen. Das ist mir jedoch nur ohne Uhr eine Freude, und auch nur, wenn ich mit den Figuren tatsächlich testen kann. Beim Korrespondenz-Schach kann ich die Figuren nämlich ungestört umherschieben. So wie hier. Es gibt zwei Hotspots, die ohne meinen Springer auf g6 nicht mehr zu verteidigen sind. Der Bauer h4 jedoch bewegt sich auf eben jenen Springer zu! Ich habe viel gepuzzelt, bevor ich einen Zug fand, der das drohende Matt noch abwenden kann. Doch ich fand noch einen. And occasionally there are situations where good advice is expensive. Then I get a lot of pleasure from testing a few possibilities first. However, I only enjoy this without a clock, and only if I can actually test with the pieces. In correspondence chess, I can move the pieces around undisturbed. Like here. There are two hotspots that can't be defended without my knight on g6. The h4 pawn, however, is moving towards that very knight! I did a lot of puzzling before I found a move that could still avert the impending mate. But I found another one. Chess in slow motion #english below the tag cloud Schach in Zeitlupe Mein Schach ist nicht für Uhren gemacht. Ich spiele gerade eine Partie Schach mit einem guten Freund. (Nun, ich spiele ja seit einigen Jahren immer irgendeine Partie). Wir haben dieses Spiel am 28.10.2022 begonnen und jeder von uns ist jetzt beim 28sten Zug. Das sind bisher 47 Tage und durchschnittlich ein Zug pro Tag, wenn beide Spieler zusammen betrachtet werden. Das Spiel mag ich zeigen, weil wir an einem Punkt sind, an dem ich im Chat um Zeitlupe gebeten habe. Der weiße König war zuvor kräftig unter Druck gekommen, was sehr zum Knobeln herausforderte. Nun versetzte ich mich in den schwarzen König, und wünsche mir soooo sehr, der findet einen Ausweg. Denn das sind di Momente, in denen ich manches Mal an mehreren Tagen knobel, bevor ich eine Entscheidung treffe. Man stelle sich nur vor, es würde eine Uhr laufen. (Well, I always play some game since some years). We started this game on 10/28/2022 and each of us is now on the 28th move. The white king had come under a lot of pressure before, which was very challenging. Now I put myself in the black king's place, and wish soooo much he finds a way out. Bear with me! #English below the tag cloud Geduld üben mit mir! Ein guter Freund zeigte mir eine App, die ich noch nicht kannte. Sie ist dazu gemacht, spontane Gelegenheiten "bei einem Bier" (oder Tee) zu nutzen, um Freunden zu begegnen. Sie heißt "Beer with me". Die App ist nicht zum chatten gedacht, und das macht sie so interessant. Wer in eine Bar geht, um sich bei einem Getränk zu entspannen, wählt das Getränk aus. Und Freunde, die mit gleicher App verbunden sind, erfahren den Standort und eine Einladung, sich dazuzugesellen. In den Voreinstellungen gibt es leider keine alkoholfreien Getränke, was mich sehr wundert - wie wohl der Lebensalltag der Entwickler aussieht? Es lassen sich jedoch eigene Lieblingsgetränke speichern. Bis auf die Tatsache, dass mein Tee dann im Schnappsglas angezeigt wird, gibt es daran für mich jedoch nichts auszusetzen. Die App tut, was sie soll, und alles weitere könnte in Zukunft noch hinzu kommen, wenn die Entwickler Grund dazu finden. Nun gehe ich selten in Bars. Vielleicht zu selten. Ich sitze lieber in Küchen, bei Freunden, oder zunehmend auch in virtuellen Räumen zusammen. Ich habe darum mit der App ein wenig gespielt und ein paar Tricks gefunden, wie ich sie ohne Ort und Bier nutzen mag. Begin alone and invite for play #English below Alleine anfangen und zum Spiel einladen Hier ist ein weiteres Spiel, dass sich ab einem einzelnen Mitspieler spielen lässt. Dieses ist besonders interessant, wenn Kids in der Nähe sind, weil sie damit spielerisch mit Buchstaben in Kontakt kommen können. So können sie mitmachen, wenn sie Lust dazu haben (oder eine gute Bindung besteht), statt sie dazu zu drängen. Sind mehrere Erwachsene zugegen, können sie miteinander spielen. Das Tempo können die Erwachsenen leicht anpassen, um jungen Spielern deren Aufmerksamkeit zu erwidern. Ich denke das ist, was Peter Gray nennt, mit Werkzeugen der Kultur in Kontakt zu kommen. Denn Stress in Schule lässt sich besonders leicht vermeiden, wenn sie unnötig ist. Mein Tipp: Nicht spielen, um zu lernen. Spielen aus Freude am Knobeln reicht vollkommen aus und verdirbt die Freude am Spiel nicht. Das ist etwas, das ich heute auch dank Peter Gray besser verstehe: Freies Spiel ist noch besser als Spiel nach Vorgaben, weil es Kreativität und Verabredung (Konsenz) fördert. Übernehmen junge Menschen die Buchstabenplättchen auf ihre eigene Weise, ziehe ich mich als Erwachsener zurück, beobachte mehr als ich führe, oder spiele frei mit ohne zu intervenieren. In diesem Set aus Buchstaben sind reichlich Teile, um damit sehr frei zu spielen. Sogar Muster oder Flächen lassen sich legen. Das habe ich im Bild auch schon festhalten können. Probiere es doch mal aus, egal womit. Auch Schach eignet sich gut, um Figuren mit Phantasie zum Leben zu erwecken. If young people take over the letter tiles in their own way, as an adult I step back, observe more than I lead, or play along freely without intervening. #German text available below Time and time again, I'm fascinated by the things that happen technically in the background with electronic cash. When Bitcoin was busted in 2016 when demand was high, that was over for a long time. Now, with functioning electronic cash, it's back. Today I want to share a detail about fees here at Noise. You know the number 0.00000277 BCH right? That's the fees for a transaction. I had started some time ago not to assess tip transactions in dollars or euros, but to enter rounded BCH amounts in my wallet whenever I tipped. However, in my perfectionism, I noticed that no rounded value was reaching the recipient. So I habitually added the above amount to my tips, since Noise seems to make an extra jump when evaluating payment details, incurring fees a second time. But still no even value arrived at the recipient's end, even though I added the fee. That was when I learned the number 0.00000189. Because that is apparently the fee that is incurred when the payment is forwarded in the background. Interestingly, that's again less than what I'm used to as a user. Als Bitcoin 2016 bei großer Nachfrage kaputt gemacht wurde, war es damit lange Zeit vorbei. Mit funktionierendem elektronischem Bargeld ist das nun zurück. Heute will ich ein Detail über Gebühren hier bei Noise teilen. Du kennst die Zahl 0,00000277 BCH oder? Das sind die Gebühren für eine Transaktion. Ich hatte vor einiger Zeit angefangen, Trinkgeld-Transaktionen nicht mehr in Dollar oder Euro zu bemessen, sondern gerundete BCH Beträge in meiner Wallet einzugeben, wannimmer ich ein Trinkgeld gab. In meinem Perfektionismus bemerkte ich jedoch, dass kein gerundeter Wert beim Empfänger ankam. Ich fügte also den oben genannten Betrag gewohnheitsmäßig zu meinen Trinkgeldern hinzu, da Noise beim verwerten der Zahlungsangaben offenbar einen Extrasprung macht und dabei ein zweites Mal Gebühren fließen. Doch noch immer kam beim Empfänger kein glatter Wert an, obwohl ich die Gebühr hinzufügte. Das war, als ich die Zahl 0,00000189 kennenlernte. Denn das ist offenbar die Gebühr, die beim weiterleiten der Zahlung im Hintergrund anfällt. Interessanterweise ist das nochmal weniger als für mich als Anwender üblich. Wie dem auch sei, seit ich diesen Wert kenne, spiele ich mit der Zahl und füge einem gerundeten Wert diese Kommastellen hinzu. Und dies führt nun schließlich dazu, dass nicht nur kein Staub anfällt, bei einer solchen Zwischentransaktion (es gibt nur einen Output, weil Noise nichts für sich zurückhält), sondern auch, dass ein glatter Wert in die Wallet meines Begünstigten fällt. Ich wünschte, mir würde mal jemand zeigen können, was da tatsächlich bei Noise im Hintergrund passiert. Ich liebe es! Bargeld funktioniert!

Using Pop!_OS for multiple users [EN-DE] Pop!_OS für mehrere Benutzer verwenden I'm not sure yet about the pros and cons of using Flatpak as a package manager, but it feels good and convenient. Pop!_OS already has it integrated in its own app store called Pop!_Shop. DEB packages also show up there, as is common for the underlying Ubuntu Linux (which was developed from Debian), but most of it is offered via Flatpak. If you want to use Pop!_OS for multiple users, you will soon run into the fact in the Pop!_Shop for Flatpak installations that each user has to install apps for themselves in order to use them. So what is installed once is not available to other users. (To what extent it makes a difference security-wise has not yet become clear to me). So if you want to use Brave Browser, for example, you have to install it for yourself, even if another user has already installed the app. This is nonsense first because it takes up time and disc space. In order to have to install such apps only once, a little trick helps. But first I want to show what matters. The Pop!_Shop shows "flathub (flatpak)" as an installation source, as shown in the picture. If the trick was used, the source details change into a drop-down list, as shown in the picture. "System-wide" here means that an app is installed for all users to use, just as all pre-installed apps are already available for all users. To check the available Flatpak sources, you can take a look at the Pop!_Shop settings. These can be found in the Sandwitch menu, as shown in the following picture: System Software Sources... #deutsch unten A good friend recently gave me a taste for Matcha Latte. Then, during a round of talks the other day, a "matcha round" resulted. That means some people sit down together and enjoy macha together. And this is what it looked like when I prepared a liter of it. As new and euphoric as I am at this, I found another trick for me with the oat drink concentrate to turn a tea (matcha in water) into a latte. Namely, to add the concentrate like classic condensed milk only later and to dose in the process. Bon appetite! #deutsch Ein guter Freund brachte mich kürzlich auf den Geschmack von Matcha Latte.
