The blue pill or red pill

(It is purely my personal opinion)

The iconic movie ‘The Matrix’ has this famous scene where Morpheus offers the choice of the blue pill or the red pill to Neo. The blue pill keeps him in the world as he has been seeing it and the red pill opens up the true reality. And thereafter what a great movie it has been!!

We all are born ingesting the blue pill.

The world we see around, the beliefs we believe and the relations we form here. Our life is a combination of these three things. Our day starts and ends and then another day starts and we follow the same routine more or less. I am not sure if you have seen the movie ‘The groundhog day’ or not but our life is much like that. In the movie it shows that the main character wakes up every day and it is the same routine every day. He is visiting the same places, the same people and the same discussion. It is as if life is in a loop. We are only living in a world where our mind is programmed by something and we can neither question nor understand that program. Within this program we try to find our importance and worth and we go to any length to satisfy our ego. We believe we are unique and have a special place on this earth. We are made to belief that human birth is special and unique and we have a higher purpose.

Our life is actually in such a loop. After Einstein’s effort in quantum mechanics some of us are trying to look deeper but in the macro scale life is just as what we are shown by our five senses. Then we have developed our concepts that there is some supreme being who has created us and is controlling everything from some unknown place. Everything belongs to him and we long for him. We try to give purpose to our life guided by what the men of God made us to believe. We consider our self intelligent so we start looking for reason and pattern in everything and when we fail to find any we put it in the Gods court. The blue pill gives us comfort and stability within this framework of mind.

We try to find happiness, satisfaction and joy within this framework, but we forget that these are always tagged with sadness, suffering and dissatisfaction about one thing or the other. And our jugglery continues till we die. The blue pill keeps us in the path of uncritical thinking because we do not want to question.

The blue pill effect:

1. I am unique and my ego is supreme

2. I have a higher purpose in life as a human birth

3. I have a set definition of success in life which is mostly material

4. I believe in the higher power of god

5. God is the creator and is maintaining this world

6. all the relations’ are predestined

7. Humans are a intelligent species

8. I will have happiness without suffering

9. we humans have the first right to anything on this earth

10. I am happy without questioning everything

Then comes the red pill.

We are not ready to take the red pill, unlike Neo. We are happy with what we are, what we see and feel and what we believe. The red pill will lead to the truth and freedom. The red pill strikes a death blow at the root of our belief and mental programming.

The biggest belief we have developed is the belief in God. I think God is a creation of our weak mind. When someone finds something unexplainable, attribute it to god, when our life situation is against us, attribute it to god. It is a natural tendency of mind to gravitate towards the easiest solution. All the people are using god to hide their weakness. Anyone questioning god is replied that we are not programmed to understand god. In that case we are already accepting that we do not know about him and just blindly believing in what we have been made to believe. All the men of god have said a lot about god and his commandments but it may be just that they were hallucinating about god. The instructions that are being circulated as god instructions are nothing but common sense. If these people were men of god then why there is so much difference in their teachings?

The universe is too big a place. Here all probabilities have the possibility of coming true. If we say there is a probability of something happening is 1: 100 million, then the universe is big enough to make that happen. As per this then god is also a probability, but not so, because we are made to believe that god is outside the universe and he created it. Again we form a loop as to what was before the creation of universe and who created god. If god is energy then either it was created after the creation of universe or is a remnant of the previous energy from which this universe was created. It is again our speculation with no proof. So we give this credit to god rather than any other possibility. If we replace god by any advanced alien civilization intervening in the creation of life on earth, this has more possibility than any god creating it. We may discover more states of matter and more forms of energy, yet unknown to us, but those will remain as matter or energy only, not god.

The misconception of being an intelligent race is also stark. What type of intelligent race is hell bent of destroying themselves. What type of intelligent being gets swayed in the name of all forms of division and gets ready to cut each other’s throat. If these men of god were so then why are they not intervening when for centuries humans are killing each other in its name?  It’s because they are not, they just made a fool of us. If intelligence cannot understand and overcome the ways of the emotions then what is the use of that intelligence. Is slavery, ethnic supremacy, domination of the weak, subjugation of the poor, fight for and hoarding of resources, expansionism by trickery, killing in the name of honour and religion, destruction of habitat of other species, treating women of the same species unequal and as a prize to be possessed, a sign of intelligence? Or is intelligence meant to create material things only.

We may not be a part of computer program, yet but we surely are a part of mental and emotional program.

The creation of life on this planet is an accident for me. Certain combinations mixed in the right proportion and life was created and evolved. Same thing is happening in other parts of the universe also.  Everyone’s birth is just an action with no purpose and intervention of god. And so is death. We are just another species on earth and we will also evolve to become some other species. With our limited understanding we may consider ourselves superior at the moment, but this moment will also pass in the grand timescale of the universe.

We may try to make our own assumptions about it but in the whole universe a life born and a death is just an occurrence with no meaning. The universe is self sustaining as a balance of energies formed in the starting stages. Once there will be an imbalance this universe will also end. Similarly all relations that we form here are just an accident or a coincidence of two people meeting. There is no will or conspiracy of god involved here. The birth proves this, we are born alone and will die alone, and rest what happens in between is just a game played by us. It is our mental programming that we try to find a reason and correlation among events which are otherwise innocuous.

My red pill effect:-

1. the notion of god is false

2. everything  that is happening in the universe is self sustaining as long as it lasts

3. Life is just a period between birth and death, with no special significance

4. mankind is not the end of evolution, it is just a part of the process

5. We have a false sense of superiority complex about our intelligence.

6. we live our life by the beliefs which we ourselves don’t understand fully

7. the biggest harm to mankind has been done by the men of god

8. everything is just a play of matter and energy

9. all relations we form here are just a co-incidence and a matter of convenience

10. We are governed by our mental and emotional programming.
